@compoundevolution yes Nick is a bit of a shock to see now alright. Almost a different man, where Plummer is older but is still slim and distinguished looking and still has most of his original voice.
@paranoidpfanclub seeing the actors, i would say that this is already the "2012" edition, with Clooney from the Descendants, Nolte for Warrior, Plummer for Beginners, Brooks for Drive, Oldman for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Waltz for that Polanski movie
anyone else realize that cristoph's waltz's arm wasn't actually behind plummer halfway through the video? his jacket is the exact same color as the couch
Not sure if they're close with the guy in their personal lives, but George and Albert's mocking of Nick Nolte, in his presence no less, seemed really disrespectful. Good interview otherwise.
@creature57 : M.Plummer mentionned a 1937' film named La Grande Illusion, directed by Jean Renoir, with Jean Gabin, Pierre Fresnay, Erich von Stroheim, Dita Parlo, Marcel Dalio.
47:30 to 47:55 THANK YOU OLDMAN FOR SHUTTING UP THOSE STUPID ACTORS, i hate when actors talk about how "in depth" their roles are and how putting together a character is like doing rocket science
Fuck everyone giving George shit! He's so far from smug and arrogant! He's opinionated and also is humorous! Why does everyone hate on him so much?! He's hardly a complete dickhead, he's not out causing a riot, he's not disrespectful he's just George, everyone knows what he is like! I despise when people go on about how he never gives anyone a chance to speak, fuck off! These actors are hardly 5 year old blind sighted, naive children they're fucking grown men!! They want to speak they'll speak!
Clooney is younger but more arrogant than any other seniors old guy, what a shitty attitude.. they all greatest actor and better than Clooney but they're so underrated, when Clooney sort of take the same role and character in most of movies, he also the most hungry oscar chaser lol
geeez give the damn space for Christoph Waltz and Gary Oldman to speak up, respect the european actors..
Sure they had all something to say, and Clooney is always interesting, but I was holding my breath for Gary Oldman to speak... Man those Americans talk and talk...the Europeans are too polite to break in, lol.
I fin the selection of actors on this panel a bit odd. I would have expected Ryan Gosling (Drive) Jean Dujardin (The Artist) Michael Fassbender (Dangerous method, shame)!!!!
@shapolfab i think this was for best actor in a supporting role (plummer-beginners, nolte-warrior, clooney-the ides of march, brooks-drive, waltz-carnage) oldman is the odd choice because im pretty sure he has a lead role in tinker tailor, but i dont mind hes pretty awesome. Anyways just my thoughts i dont know what THR was thinking. i hope we see fassbender (my fave) gosling and dujardin soon though
@shapolfab Yep and Shannon for Take Shelter. I think Oldman and Gosling gave the best performances though. Especially Oldman. He barely even moves. Beyond subtle.
Yes!!! Thanks for uploading the whole thing. I'm an aspiring writer and these 'roundtables' are like goldust. Normally actors/writers/directors only give interviews to promote. This is fantastic.
I love these interviews but I must admit that the interviewer is quite annoying..I don't know if they were pressed for time but I wish he would let people finish what they were saying instead of constantly cutting them off in favor of another question
I absolutely LOVED when Christoph Waltz said how a great actor has the rage and then said how Gary Oldman has it.
How an actor goes into a temper so suddenly that he scares the shit out of the person he's acting with AND the audience because I can tell you in more than one movie I've seen with Gary Oldman he has scared the shit of of me.
Nolte should play Lord VADER .... dont need to do anything to the voice

I fear for Nolhte's health, he sounds like he has to fight just to breath.
Anyway i think Albert Brooks should have won best sup. Drive should have won best pic. and Nic Refn best Dec.
