  • i notice that some guys that workout lean towards the gay side. they don't admit it openly, but when i check out their profiles make me go hhmmm; for example, their comments, their friends, and all the gorgeous models they have as friends. Retro sexual guys tend to look at other guys and like they see. Am i wrong? give me your opinion without attacking me. thx

  • I used the Abs IQ six pack abs program by Bogumil Gizewski and found it to be very easy to follow and very effective. In Abs IQ Mr Gizewski teaches you how to work smarter not harder to get nice abs.

  • these exercises are harder than they appear because you have to maintain your balance on the stability ball.

    but the exercises do work, are fun and a stability balls only costs between 20 and 40 dollars.

  • Very good vid. Most of the excercises are quite easy, but 1 or 2 of them look a little more challenging! Everyone who is interested in keeping fit should get a gym-ball.

  • this might be a really obvoius point to make but I've yet to find the "correct" answer... BUT, doesn't how inflated the swiss ball is (i.e. to what pressure, how bouncy it is) affect how difficult these exercises are?

    The prone walk out must get harder as the pressure increases (as the ball is more "wobbly") but I imagine the drop & recover is made easier by having the ball inflated to high pressure (more "upthrust").

    Is there a general rule for inflation?

  • typically whatever packaging the ball comes in will tell you air pressure recommendation

  • Can anyone tell me how many reps per exercise we should be doing and how many sets total? How much rest time between exercises etc?

  • Don't treat ab exercises like general lean muscle building exercises (hypertrophy training) which generally uses a 8-12 rep range. Do as many reps as you can in good form until you can't do anymore, as in, the target ab muscle groups gets too tired to continue. Continuing on beyond this point will only lead to injury. Try 60-90 secs rest at first and experiment with yourself to see how much rest you need. 2 mins+ would generally be considered to be too much.

  • would u be able to explain "why" you wouldnt give abs the same hypertrophy training as the rest of the body? it is a muscle just like every other muscle, it does not get exessivly used during the day such as muscles like the calves. theirfore it shouldnt have any different special treatment or training

  • I guess by ab excercises I would mean, in this case, core excercises training core muscles etc.

    An increase in the size of a tissue or organ due to growth of individual cells without an increase in the number of cells.

    Normally you wouldn't associate significant muscle cell enlargement with core muscles, perhaps only with your rectus abdominus/six pack. Having said that, if want to increase the size of your abs, go right ahead, nothing technically wrong with that.

  • Actually, this is the forth so far. Also, I will be shooting part 2 of the push ups and the first of the abs series today. They'll be posted in the next couple of weeks.

  • Don't forget to stretch, otherwise you might pull a muscle in your leg and have a midlife crisis on the set of a movie and quit on day one...

  • Thank you for posting these excercises, I've had three hip replacements and these techniques will help me to access the specific muscles, those which tend to wake me from sleep during the night because of spasms.

  • Make sure you consult your doctor before trying any of these exercises if you have had surgery or are dealing with pain. I know that there are specific ranges of motion that you should avoid after hip replacement for example.

    My doctor died, now I see his replacement; my first hip replacement was twenty nine years ago, I am used to the constraints.
