It is so hard to be a Catholic when inside I am not. I believe the scripture and am guided by the Holy Spirit. I have to hide my faith from those I church with. I fear being found out. I would not where else to go unless I find like minded people and worship at home together with them. Pray for me.

What many people today believe to be the Inquisition is a MYTH. A myth fabricated by Protestants to malign the Catholic Church. The BBC (an organization that is usually very hostile towards the Catholic Church) for once came to it's defense when it made a documentary exposing the historical errors of the Inquisition. Just go on google and enter "THE MYTH OF THE SPANISH INQUISITION" and click on the very first result you get by the same exact title. It's so true!

I wouldn't say it was a myth. But it has been greatly distorted. Some say that there were 160 million killed. Funny thing is there were no more that 75 million in europe at the most during that timeframe. Also there were protestant inquistions, geneva inquisition is one. Calvin did everything but light the match on a man called servetus. England killed preists and had it's penal laws to persecute catholics as well. Some of what went on falls unders romans 13 and the right of governments.

I suggest you read The Canons and Dogmatic Degrees of The Council of Trent A.D. 1563. This is one of thirty three curses. Canon I. "If any one denieth that, in the sacrament of the most holy Eucharist, are contained truly, really, and substantially, the body and blood together with the soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and consequently the whole Christ, but saith that he is only therein as in a sign, or in figure, or virtue: let him be anathema [cursed]". Paul spoke of excommunicating people as "delivering them to Satan for the destruction of their flesh."

The devil is a seraphim that was lowered to the the same plane as the angels so he could be closest to humans for the glory of God.
