  • He sounds like Billy Joel when he's singing.

  • All this talk of removing Obama, really, did you expect the country to turn around in 2 years with the mess he inherited? If you did, more fool you. He has been given a country at war in 2 countries, a health system that you need to sell your house,if the bank hasn't pulled it out from under your feet already, just to get medical help. No president from either side can fix your mess in 1 term. As much as you don't want Obama, do you think the other side will fix it in 1 term?

  • Springsteen or not, he sounds like a man I'd like to buy a drink in a bar. Too bad there aren't more people like him... It would be a better world.

  • i wonder if bruce will support again

  • What is anti-Semitic hmmmm, is it when someone hates jews and the jewish way of life, would that be about right...if so what if i hate protestants or roman catholic. Let me see anti-protestemtism anti-catholicism what about hating muslims anti- muslimismmmms has a ring to it...Hinduism,buddhism the list goes on and on. Anti Semitic my ass get a fuckin life

  • @IMTDTI1998 The truth is sounding a lot like anti-Semitic hate speech these days.

  • @jdenicholls

Calling people "anti-semitic" to shut them up, doesn't work so well anymore. The word has lost all its meaning.

  • @the81kid I'd be very naive to think he'd shut up just because I accused him of anti-Semitism. Whether the word is overused or not it doesn't mean it isn't sometimes used appropriately.

  • Obama has been an unmitigated disaster. Thanks Bruce! As a political thinker you are a great singer.

  • he is a God! and Clarence is his high priestess !

  • @IMTDTI1998 Ewww. I read this and had to go shower again. Twice.

  • wow Bruce sounds like he wants to have sex with Obama. But after 2 years, Obama is a bust. He's the Ryan Leaf of politics

  • Nice interview.

  • he should be in office

  • Even Bruce Springsteen got taken in by this whole Barak Obama change/yes we can bullshit. Barak Obama is more of the same crap, sadly. A different face on the same old policies. Bruce is the man. But politics of any sort is dirty.

    Rock on brother Bruce.

  • The burden's of the biggest and environmentally damaging oil spill in recorded history, setting a deadline for a vitally important war (that WE NEED TO FINISH), and fiscally and economically trying to jumpstart the economy after the biggest financial downfall since the great depression. Barrack Obama possesses many burdens to bear as the leader of the World, yet while I'm writng this he's probably on the Last Show with David Letterman preoccupied with another interview.

  • @JesusCristo2002 Excuse me - Leader of the world? When did an American government rule the entire world? I think you have watch too many movies, Armageddon and Independence Day come to mind, where the American President seems to make decisions for the rest of the world. As with our country, I think America needs to get it's own house in order before telling the world what to do

  • @Maree469 - To say the U.S. possesses an authoritative influence in regards to foreign, economic and sociocultural policy would be just. What we (as a country) do definitely impacts the world on a seismic level. Please don't misinterpret what I'm saying; many countries in the world are independent and self-sustaining and do indeed have a major impact on other countries. By the way, I'm an inspiring filmmaker and I really don't have any intention of seeing "Armageddon".

  • This administration isn't that much of a significant depature from the last (perceptively coming from an ideological standpoint), the Obama administration (like the Bush administration) is the archetypically definitive example of a partisan politically-oriented government. Like the excessive amount of financing for the unnecessary war in Iraq, Obama is enforcing a Health Care bill that a vast amount of Americans don't approve of, and is bearing more burden's that he INST capable of handling.

  • The UK media have always downplayed Springsteen. They don't really get him. It's not just about America that Springsteen sings about. His songs relate to everywhere, they just have America as a backdrop. I have always said that Springsteen's incomparable status as a songwriter and live performer will only be recognised properly until after his death.

  • @johnnyM809 I hope his status will be recognised after his death. Most of his fans are baby boomers. We're too old. We'll leave about the same time he does. He needs to get younger fans. And, I think he is trying. That's got to be why he did Glastonbury. I bet he'll do more festivals, since younger fans go to those things.

  • @johnnyM809 Couldn't agree more! The British media have done a real diservice to Bruce.....And yep, they'll see why he is The Boss in due course. We all do.

  • interviewer is crap.

  • Hows that Hope and Change going for you Bruce?

  • @carmital I don't know how it's going for Bruce, but thank God Bush is gone. We would still be spriraling down. Being flat is an improvement. I wonder if they got the smell of stupid out of the White House yet.

  • Really?

  • you think the problems can be solved overnight? if they were so easy to solve you wouldn't even realise there was a problem. Also, he may be president but the responsibility doesn't just fall on one person. there is a whole team of politicians and military personel that run things too. He is a brave man to step up in a time like this and he should be respected for that alone. like badenoch101 said, the situation has been "left to him by Bush".

  • well, Obama is all over Norweigan TV today and everybody's cheering, but was has he really done? ask yourself that. i'm not against Obama at all! but he's getting the peaceprice and it's just passed a historical number of dead in the middleast. 25 % of americas population drinks dirty water! guantanamo bay is still up and going. they're building military baces all over the world. the buy and produce weapons they steal and buy oil, is he really making a change or is he just a great speaker?

  • Guatanamo bay is closing and though american may not be out of the middle east yet its in the works ( if you remeber obama did say that he would pull the troops out gradually in a reasonable way so as not to leave iraq a mess. hes having to take reasponsibilty for a job left to him by Bush.

  • you have to spend money to make money is a good phrase here. to pay off debt obama has to gain money, what would be best for the America, him just letting the interest keep growing on the debt, or try and pay it off quicker, even if that means in the short-term taxes are higher than usual. Lets be clear he hasnt even been in the office for a year yet, but in that year things have changed in a rational way, the economic reccession is at an end, the economy is growing.

  • turbomecca,

well its not a problem in this country that is going to go away anytime soon. Bush left this country a disaster, and it's Obama's unfortunate job to help clean it up. So some are naturally going to blame Obama when this country doesnt get back on track during his first administration.

  • BRUCE is a smart man when it comes to politics.....he knew we needed CHANGE in this country. Smart man! I respect his stance on politics. He's right..the last administration ruined American lives.

  • @janieusa really? in what ways? from my point of view, the last administration did absolutely nothing to hurt or for that matter help america. but ruining lives?

  • And this one is doing a better job at ruining it

  • @NJRocks281 That's a matter of opinion. Who knows what shape we'd be in with the former administration.

  • @janieusa Every administration ruins some people's lives. The decisions Obama makes will ruin some lives. You can't have a perfect administration.

  • love in the time of bush! hahahahHAHAHAHAHAH!

  • stick to the music bruce, cuz you dont know what ur talking about when it comes to politics

  • from this ange he looks a litlle like arnold swarzenegger

  • This is a guy who I would just love to sit down with and pick his brain, love or hate his poltics or his music I think you would be guarenteed to walk away with a great expirence

  • He paraphrases a fragment of one of his songs (Outlaw Pete): We can't undo the things we've done.

I love this man, he's really the boss
