  • in austria i would pay much more for the import of the car than for the car on its own. :(

  • with 19k, 20 years ago, i can buy a condo. now u still get a good nissan but no where near a condo

  • I wish my 240 felt like a roller coaster. Instead it's closer to the merry go round in terms of excitement.

  • @youthinasia303 Spend some money, replace your engine with the Japanese model's engine.

  • @SchizoFilms illegal in the us

  • @poop4256 Not at all. The SR and CA are completely legal; I have a 200SX with a CA18DET in it right now.

The EPA doesn't care about parts, and that's all an engine is. You can swap to whatever you want. Nissan just can't sell unapproved engines. Besides, it cost Nissan less to use USDM KAs than to make a USDM spec SR20DET.

The engines even meet emissions requirements. Get an SR20DET. They basically bolt in.

  • @SchizoFilms no he is right, the SR20 is an illegal swap, if you notice and swap bought in the US will be listed as off road use only

  • @XMcEvilson nissan 200sx

    s13 = ca18det

    s14 and s15 = SR20DET

    Nissan 180sx

    oldest s13 with ca18det

    s13,s14,s15 = SR20DET

    Silvia

    S13 oldest model ca18det and facelift sr20det

  • @sumosami I understand that, but that is because you are from Finland. In the United States the S13 comes with the KA24E or KA24DE engine. People here swap in the SR20DET into their S13 & S14s all the time but it is an illegal swap since it does not conform to emission laws.

  • @XMcEvilson yeah i know. but cant u just buy import car at europe or jpn? or it is illegal too?

I have japan import Cheap HCR32 skyline.. but i also have 180sx with sr20det.. i tought that our laws are rly ridiculous with cars :D

  • The 240SX has the crappy KA24DE instead of the 200SX's awesome SR20DET... Even the CA18DET is better, and as more power.

  • @piuthemagicman

Like a lot of cars in America, we tried to cut down on money by using the universal ka24 that we had had for a while from the trucks and a few other things. The sr20 is good, but it wasn't on enough cars that were popular (the infinity g20 and the older sentra se-r) to justify importing new ones. The KA (yes, a torque monster, truck engine lol) is something we made here in the usa, so it helped cut down on costs. That, and it gives drift guys an excuse to buy imported engines!

  • Hell yeah we can! Thank you Nissan for your Vote of Confidence

  • Its a lot of sports car-but you can handle it.

  • the 1989-1994 Nissan 240SX was assembled in

    Iwaki, Fukushima, Japan
