@freebyrd90 Her music was good, her voice was beautiful but the devil which is a drugs lead to her demise. No one knows whats going on in someones head, they can seem happy but inside the mind their could be self torture, or decay. My friend recently seemed like happy churpy friend, always smiling and always acting crazy funny. Then i found out he was been cutting himself. Strange huh.

I've been a Nina Simone fan since the first time I heard her so many years ago. I happened to also be a friend of her backup pianist. He said that the only reason she never made it REALLY big was due to the fact that she was not as 'beautiful' as the studios wanted but even more so because she was such a perfectionist...which probably translates to being difficult to work with. Personally, I think she's quite beautiful. As for 'hard to work with', ALL great artists are perfectionists by nature.

Song is a collaboration between Nina and Abbey Lincoln. Probably one of the best albums she made. I had a tough time getting the CD, found on a Japanese RCA disc..
