  • That's not a tornado, just a dust devil. (someone had to say it.)

  • "Uh, let's not go any further you guys." - If I were in her position, I'd be saying the same thing AND pissing myself.

  • wow that cloud looks horrible

  • ouo

  • What the hell are you talking about.

  • todos los videos que he visto son incomparablemente fabulosos.Esto es la furia de la naturaleza al 1000%.

  • Does it occur to these people to see if anyone was hurt?

  • Yeah, they do... they just don't put it on video.

  • I sure hope so.

Maybe they should state this fact on occasion.

I walk away thinking how cold it is to be so excited about this distruction and absent of any concern for potential victims.

  • lol

  • haha love it. "Roof in the air!" xD

  • SICK YO

    hope people are alright

  • I remember seeing this on the news

  • HOHOHO, U2 - Beautiful Day and Tornado!!

  • wow nigga i would not want to be in that

  • dude We had a huge tornado (for our town) a block away

  • You guys don't know how lucky you are to have the ability to predict the general area where one might touch down. I am still upset at myself for not getting a visual of the Hazleton, Iowa, EF3 and/or Parkersburg EF5 this past year.

  • How many windshields do you lose a year? Will insurance cover you for that?

  • Cool, a tornado in March!

  • Awesome Tornado video 5*****

  • ROFL is that U2'S Its a Beautiful Day playing from 1:35 to 2:18?

  • Haha, I was laughing at that too. Love the irony.

  • hahahaha man...

    Hoo Nicee...

    Hoo Nicee..

  • Indeed, you are right MediaNexus. A storm's Danger sone' has potential for explosions and/or recurring possibilities of other tornadoes called 'Back biter's. No one should go near such places until the authorities arrive ahead of you and give the go ahead for assistance.

  • great video. im not sure if would celebrate a roof gone, there might be people in there. did u bother to check?

  • My main problem with storm chasers is their tendency to ignore people in favor of pursuing cheap thrills. Many witness storm damage as it happens, yet make no effort whatsoever to help potential victims. In many parts of Europe, failing to provide help, within one's capabilities, to an injured person is a criminal offense. Perhaps the USA should adopt similar laws since it's clear some just won't help otherwise.

  • Its not like they could in that situation, debris would have littered the area and would make reaching them very difficult. Theres not much of anything they could have done.

  • Debris and litter are not an excuse to not help victims in obvious need of help, MediaNexus. Nobody is suggesting placing oneself in clear or present danger, simply that one provides help "within one's capabilities" instead of just driving by in the search for more thrills and more video.

  • Stewart, that is not an excuse, that's the truth, debris and litter would be in the way and it could possibly take a long time for them to reach the people in need, also they need the go ahead to give assistance.

  • A storm chasers literal job is to watch the tornado and it's direction. After the funnel they are dispached to watch dissapates or ropes out. They are allowed to return to the 'damage zones' to help. Meanwhile, they report back everything to the emergency authorities for help. AT least real Storm chasers do. Some like you say, are in it only for the thrill. Other's do try. I know for I have traveled with them before. They cnat return until their job is done.

  • Most people chasing storms are not employed at that job, Linniecat7. Instead, most (like those in this video) are simply individuals, using their own equipment (vehicles, radios, camcorders, etc), doing this solely for a thrill. The weather service, government agencies, and so on, employ their own staff driving well marked vehicles with equipment supplied. Each agency will accept reports from private citizens, but those citizens are not employees nor are they encouraged to take such risks.

  • True. However, without such thrill seekers the warnings of those deadly comditions may never come.I disapprove driving by without at least reporting their findings to the officials but often you will only be more of a henderence if you rush in right then. Gas leaks, downed powerlines, ect. It is always still best to wait for the authorities to arrive and go in behind to help those in need as the EMS will know of danger zones. A hero is no longer useful to anyone if they get blown up ect...

  • I storm chase. Yes most chasers i meet are purely for the thrill, or to add media to online sites. And i have learned from them. Don't get TOO excited if a roof is blown off, especially if the camera is running. Most stormchasers i met are college educated, therefore prob capable of helping. Should they? At the very least, dispatch help...i think.

  • What should they do? Run right into the F5 to save people? As far as I know, most chasers send out a warning to the weather services when they see a tornado. This IS help! Yes, most of these chasers are not sent out by the government. Nonetheless, they collect important data for tornado research. That improves tornado prediction and also saves many, many lives! But I have to agree to one thing: Most comments on these videos are dumb. Instead of screaming, people should explain, what is going on.

  • No need for hyperbole, Teigokane. I've already said what they should do - provide help, within their capabilities, to victims. The guys in this video (and most self-styled "storm chasers") are not working for the weather service, nor providing info to such, nor collecting data. They're thrill seekers out for an afternoon drive. In many parts of the world, this behavior is frowned upon and people are expected to act more responsibly. In Germany (and likely throughout EU), it's actually the law.

  • Well, I am German. Informing the authorities or making an emergency call could even be enough in a disaster situation. I do not think that not searching for victims in the debris after an F5 would be "unterlassene Hilfeleistung", because in such a situation, professionals, who know what they are doing, are needed. Actually, we DO have strong tornadoes in Germany, but they are very rare events. The last F5 was registered in the year 1800. so this would be an extraordinary situation for us.

  • Did you watch the video, Teigokane? These guys didn't even do that (inform authorities or make a call). Regardless, I'm not necessarily talking about digging through debris (someone else brought this up), nor these particular storm chasers. I'm discussing storm chasers in general, specifically those just driving by visible victims (seen in many similar videos on this site) without stopping to offer even the most basic help (a kind word). But, others clearly disagree, so I'll not argue forever.

  • I worked as a cameraman for a news service for many years. One of the core principles is that you are there as a passive observer. You are recording the story or event (in this case a tornado) for informational puposes. You are not supposed to become part of the story. Also, in the event of a disaster (or in my case a shooting or car accident) you aren't supposed to get involved because you are not properly trained or protected physically or legally. I didn't want to get AIDS from a victim.

  • I'll repeat once again, wolverene13, that most "storm chasers" are simply thrill seekers using their own equipment (vehicles, camcorders, etc). They are not employed by any agency (news or weather service, etc) to chase storms. Government and news agencies employ their own staff to track & report weather. While each will accept reports from private citizens, those citizens are not employees. Thus, those individuals have no excuse for ignoring victims which could easily be helped safely.

  • Fucken A

  • no thats wrong.

    Maybe, we get one tornado in Hamburg this evening (;

  • Was ist denn falsch? Daß es in Deutschland nur sehr wenige starke Tornados gibt? Doch, das ist so. Die meisten sind - wie in den USA übrigens auch - im F0 - F1-Bereich. Ich drück euch für heut abend die Daumen.

  • You are a defenate storm chaser!

  • You asswipes. This isn't "incredible!". I will take my business elsewhere.

  • People with their negative comments need to shut their mouth! I loved this video and congrats to the guys that shot it!

  • Mother nature at her finest! good video guys.

  • "C'mon extend it some more..."

I had to say that's what she said...I had to.

  • your vide3os are so KOOL

  • hahahhah lol

  • Hahahaha!!! I like dicks up my ass...lol!!

And I still stand by my argument!!

  • uh.

    Duh.

  • snore.....

  • I've only ever seen one tornada;I lost the windows in my car from that one(I was officialy freiking out!) I want to chase a big one some day.If my wife doesn't mind(fat chance)lol

  • i was right in the middle of this it passed right over my house

  • Nice touch playing beautiful day in the background!

  • Was this the one in Blaine Co? I was on business in Enid from Chicago when this happened and was so tempted to go after it in my rental car. Now imagine me tryin to explain that one to the guy at Enterprise lol

  • oh look at it spin

    it's realy spien

ya no shit what else is it going to do

    LOL

    it spins!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ya'll are crazy as hell! The only thing I can handle before I freak out is the green sky and lightning. After that stuff, I'm moving out; ain't no way I'm staying in one place with God's finger spinning towards my house!

  • lol these are the real rush hunters... talk about a death wish, i want to chase one so bad

  • I was born and raised in Atlanta this is not the first time Atlanta has been hit by a tornado it's just been awhile it came through perry homes a housing project in Atlanta then it came through downtown Atlanta.

  • we just had a tornado

  • where??..Atlanta?

  • yup

  • well, hope u guys ok there...im scared of tornadoes..lol

  • thanks i'm okay atleast =)

  • wow that would scare me to death. i love how at one point Beautiful Day by U2 is playing in the background =]

  • Yeah, a lot of storm chasers that I know have a chasing soundtrack with weather/climate related songs. Some other popular ones are "Beautiful Mess" by Diamond Rio and "Thunder Rolls" by Garth Brooks. Of course, in central Oklahoma, if you're storm chasing, you have to listen to KTST, 101.9FM, "The Twister" -- that's the actual name of the radio station. Weatherpeople have an odd sense of humor. :)

  • oh haha

  • by the way the tornado that hit Atlanta was an EF 2

  • A tornado went through down town Atlanta yesterday 3/14/08 at like 10:00 p.m. it was amazing no one died. but the storms in northern GA killed about 2 people. this was the first time Atlanta has been hit directly.

  • ya ik i was just watchin TV and then i turned to 48 and they were talkin about how they had to postpon the game caz of a tornado....and i was ganna d something today but there was a tornado warnning. was so exited i had to look tornados up :P

  • The nag talking off camera is a buzzkiller. Leave her at home next time or gag her.

  • Haha:P

  • I know the EF scale depends on damage. There was some damage and debris if you watched the video. That is why I asked what it was rated. Anyone who is remotely intrested in tornadoes knows how the EF scale works!

  • seeing as it ripped the roof off a well constructed building, and snapped power poles, that is a definition F-2. But could it have been stronger earlier? maybe, but that is not when it caused structural damage.

    hope it helped

  • i just live down the road from where it touched down..

  • are this videos reol or not

  • Sweet footage!

What EF rating was this? 2 or 3?

  • Awesome... best un-edited (which is much better) footage and great camera work I have seen. Great job!

  • what a song play to 'beautiful day' it would be to the tornado videochasers

  • Never bring a woman with you on a chase

  • lol

  • it would be cool to watch these storms from a safe distance

  • i can barly see the tornado ( at first)

    then it got better

  • They weren't listening to that woman in the car at all! LOL Everything she said appears to have been ignored. Wonder why she was even along....

  • Eso es la Ruta 3 ?

  • tornado started earlier and with a bang eh...

  • what it this

  • IDIOTA ES UN TORNADO

  • "OH roof in the air.. Oh WOW!"

    Lmao NICE VIDEO!

  • Lol, it always amazes me when they describe a storm as "beautiful" they ignore the fact that their joy is someones misery, someones home, possibly someones death.

I know study leads to quicker warning times, but damn some of them sound like it's getting their rocks off....sad.

    R

  • I agree partially with you that storm cahing is better for better warning times , but if you a storm chaser and don't show any excitement about the weather/ tornado's then there's no point of even doing it so yea All storm chasers show alot of joy seeing them because there amazed by the power of mother nature. So even if it seems like they really don't care about others trust me they do otherwise they wouldn't even report then to the NWS if they see one to help the public.

  • Oh ok, I see you cannot take the sad facts eh?

To you "umm chasers" out there, all I meant is you don't have to sound so fucking happy someone lost their lives.

Thumb down this all you care to :-)

    Ron

  • Whether you like it or not, that happens in all dangerous careers. Firemen, soldiers, police, even EMTs... they all talk casually about their experiences, and speak of particular events with morbid excitement even though people died.

If you're passionate about something, it excites you. A lot of it is just numbing yourself about it and moving on. If you concentrate on the destruction and death too much, you can't do your job.

  • thats a few day's ago :O

  • Why do people feel compelled to run their mouths during these videos? Why not listen to the wind and not all this matter of fact crap.

  • Because it creates a whole lot more excitement! I get a kick outta these guys.

To each their own, I guess.

  • Don't advertise your stuff by talking crap on other videos.

P.S. Your videos suck compared to this.

  • Y DONT YOU LICK MY BALLZ

  • I like how U2's "Beautiful Day" is playing in the background... so ironic :-) Great vid!

  • Great vid. I wondered if you guys got an footage of that one. Everytime we have tornados know I am thinking "Wonder if Joel and Reed are there!?" Thanks a lot LOL

  • The video would be a lot better without the spam in it... By the way, shouldn't your site be a dot com? I'll look into that.

  • The end is kind of like a scene from Twister.

  • Great as always

  • Great tornado footage over there in Western OK. I was watching this cell on the radar. Storm season in the plains is about to get underway.

  • wow that was like on sunday! crazy!!

  • i like the song in the background, it's kind of ironic

  • Cool

  • hey i love how you said 2008 when it was added a year ago

  • It wasn't. >> That was the year they joined.

Look above the tags and the category, THATS the date it was added.

  • oh yeah your right

  • "suck in some more, that's great..." lmao!!!

  • i rember hearing on the news

  • nice footage....good job an splitting up to get footage from different views...overall,its a great video

  • Another great chase guys. wish I could get paid to do that.

  • u wanna see a more scary vid? search for struck in tsunami! ( youtube!)

  • i cannot stand that one guy's voice. heard it before in other tornado footage. he sounds like the ultimate dick. wish an F5 would swoop HIM up and spill him onto the ground at 200mph, as someone else watches and says, "oh WOW!!! look at that!!! look at that!!! how cool is that?!!"

  • bloody awesome, fantastic rotation at the end

  • This one of the coolest videos.

  • ccooolll

    i like tornado

    i wanna see that

  • I've seen one up close. IT SUCKED!!! Better to watch on TV or Youtube.

  • brutal!

  • Its nice to hear them cheer on the tornado. They are cheering about the rof in the air. Maybe they should be saying. I hope everyone is ok, I hope no one is dieing at this moment.

  • Why were you guys listening to U2 - Beautiful Day? Was that on the radio? If it wasn't then how can that be part of a beautiful day? LOL

  • Plis visit AWESOME! TWO TORNADOES IN ARGENTINA (RIO DE LA PLATA)!: /watch?v=QwqggA3iG8Q

    Bye...

  • hi person

  • I hope nobody got hurt. Mother nature is cool but dangerous.

  • Very cool.

I love tornadoes (not the damage they do, just the form itself).

  • This is so awesome, you guys have balls to get this close to a tornado!

  • That's what keeps their vehicle from flying off: their balls are so huge and heavy

  • beautiful day .lol

  • I watched ou guys on the live tracker on your website! This is great to se what you saw!

  • a fuckin cow lol `2 tracy

  • It's like a ghost tornado at beginning. I think that was a cow flying by at 2:17

    Thanks!

  • Bit annoying with the double voice-over

  • Cool video as usual. ;D

  • Realy nice Video. Great job.

  • Seems like tornado season is a year round event now.. Blame it on global warming and the melting of the polar ice caps.
