  • "LA the King and SF the Queen"

Lol!! Personally, I think San Diego skyline by far is much prettier particularly during the summer than both LA & SF. Also, Long Beach & San Jose skylines are really nice too in the summer.

  • @MrJuly1990ish Yes but Long Beach and San Jose have NO SKYSCRAPERS!!!! DX

  • @Ninjasaur101

It's really not so much of the "Skyscrapers" but the overall view of the city, particularly in Long Beach because of the beach. Funny thing, I had a few friends come visit me from overseas a few years back (was their first time in Cali) and didn't care too much for LA (said it was too much of a cluster, which it is). But they really liked Long Beach, San Diego and the Ventura County/Santa Barbra areas.

  • l.a. has a small skyline. when i think of a california skyline i think of san francisco first. and i have seen stockton,l.a. ,riverside, san bernardino, oakland and sacramento but frisco is the best california skyline.

  • Newport?

  • San Jose rocks

  • Its like LA has 2 skylines

  • @thatguy2love more then 2 .

  • San Francisco's skyline is twice as nice as Los Angeles'

  • @sKaToNe San Francisco and Oakland together is outstanding i have pics . :)

  • @sKaToNe I know, San Francisco has buildings everywhere in sight, while in L.A, you look behind you and its ghetto. But, L.A is nice.

  • excellent work!

  • The Skid Row is only a few blocks away from downtown LA, and the Skid Row is where most of LA's homeless people and criminals hang around. It is one of LA's roughest regions. But a few miles north of the Skid Row is LA's financial district/Bunker hill, and that place is where most wealthy people work. Businesses such as the Gas Company and Deliotte & Touche are expensive workplaces in Downtown LA. However, the Skid Row and the Financial District are only a few blocks apart despite these factors.

  • SF and LA are both tied together.

    There is no competition.

SF is ranked higher than LA on the ranking system.

But LA has the best layout of a skyline in the US.

This video was meant to show the major skylines of California.

5 of the skylines in this video are from LA. Including Downtown.

So I got to put LA first :D

  • Torrance, which is a western suburb city of Los Angeles...is home to one of California's largest shopping malls. It's called the Del Amo mall. It's a very large mall/shopping center which consists of accessory shops, restaurants, music stores, and microshops both indoors and outdoors. It's also one of the fewest malls in the US that has indoor and outdoor shops. This immense shopping mall is situated 10-1 miles south of LAX.

  • I should ask my Dad to drive us there someday, since I'm not even the age of 16 yet (though my youtube account is.)

I live in Greater LA, way over there in San Diego, and 2 hours away from Downtown LA.

    We have an indoor mall.

It is being expanded and building an outdoor.

Its great to have an inside-out mall.

You can choose to go outside when its hot or go inside for fresh air.

  • @sp54584 glendale galeria has that and is also in california

  • There is a really weird-looking building in downtown Los Angeles. It's called the Westin Bonaventure Hotel. It's a 35-story commercial hotel building which consists of a drinking bar, a restaurant, and a revolving observation deck on its 35th floor. Probably one of the most unique constructions I ever saw, especially in Los Angeles. The Bonaventure is the largest hotel in California and is just across the street from the Bank of America Plaza as far as I can remember.

  • The blue shiny round building.

It appears famous in Los Angeles's skyline due to the beautiful reflection while driving, and the elevators.

Going there at night is the best time ever.

Next time I go Downtown LA, I should tell my dad to park near there. Last time, we parked near Wells Fargo-California Plaza.

  • I love the Transamerica Pyramid

  • Excellent video.

You have some really great pictures in this.

California has more to offer than any other state or country.

I love Los Angeles and the beaches.

I'm into acting and advertising, and L.A. has more opportunities for those careers, but there are many more reasons why it is the place for me.

SD and SF are cool too.

Great sites and food in those cities among other things, but L.A. is THE place!

    George Vreeland Hill

  • The Gas Company Tower is the 4th tallest building in LA. At first I thought it was Southern California's Electrical Corporation, but it's actually a SoCal's Gas and fuel corporation. I also thought the Wells Fargo Center was the 4th tallest. Bank of America and 777 Tower are taller than the Wells Fargo as well, although they look smaller. Wells Fargo Center looks taller thann 777 Tower, Bank of America, and the Gas Company because it's probably built on a higher elevation.

  • Go look at LA's skyline from Hollywood(Wikipedia)

777 is smaller than BOA. Wells Fargo is in a high elevation- Indeed.

Wells Fargo is quite a beautiful building. Placed in a great spot. I found out that every LA buildings are shiny, and colorful. Even MORE impressive, it is one of the most colorful in US. LA isn't colorful because of junk lights. Look... the glass... and... those signs! About 90% of the LA highrises have colors. Sucks, Wells Fargo isn't visible at night.

    LA is a REAL skyline!

  • Illusion?

Wells Fargo looks a lot larger if your in front of it prob because of the high surroundings and its so skinny.

Bank Of America is a tough one. It is placed diagonally, and fat, with no surroundings.

The 777 Tower have a low surrounding, and larger.

If you compare Gas Company Tower to California Plaza(Nearly the same height), Gas Company is a lot lower than California Plaza. I went to Downtown, and I can even see a far view in the streets of California Plaza. But no view from GCT.

  • It's been 14 years since I went to the beach with my relatives. But 11 years since my mom tooke me to the beach for the last time before I moved to the Bay Area. But luckily, my parents will send me to the Los Angeles area. Many of my cousins and relatives live down in Southern California, and for the first time in 14 years, I'll be partying at the beach again with them! That's gonna be a huge comeback! Hermosa Beach, Newport Beach, and Long Beach are also great beaches down in LA and the OC.

  • Your exactly like me!

I've only been to the beach when I was little!

Like when I was 8! Then, I never been to the beach!!!

We were suppose to be going to the beach this summer because my cousins came, but we didn't have enough time!

We always go to the beaches in San Diego, since it is closer.

Going to the beach is only 1 hour away! Just like the time to go San Diego!

But my mom is bored of it. The worst thing is that my sister only knows how to stop the plan

THEY SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK!

  • Another thing I like about LA are the beaches in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. My mom used to take me down to Huntington Beach every summer back when I was a little kid. I've haven't been to the beach for 11 years, and that's awhile. I also remember one time when I went to Huntington Beach with my relatives. We partied till almost midnight, played volleyball, and had great seafood dinner! It was so fun and I never had a chance to do so.

  • In fact, some rock bands all around the US, Canada, and some international countries have moved to Los Angeles to pursue in their musical career. Even UCLA has admitted students who major in music, film, and televisions. Many of those film and animation classes at UCLA prepare students for a future career in films and music in Hollywood 'cause that's where most of our movies we watch and music we listen to come from. Truly, Los Angeles is America's headquarters for music and entertainment!

  • Music, especially rock music is very successful in Los Angeles. Rock bands such as Linkin Park, Maroon 5, Metallica, Lifehouse, Velvet Revolver, The Offspring, Fort Minor, Incubus, and those bands all formed in Los Angeles. Los Angeles is home to over hundreds and hundreds of bands/artists. Capitol Records and Hollywood are also evidences that music and entertainment are very popular in Los Angeles. The Ocean Way Recording Studios and Lavish Studios are among the most popular recording studios.

  • Like what I said, Los Angeles have the beauty of a "techno" look.

So all fast, techno, rap, etc, matches to LA.

I'm Chinese, and I know a LOT of movie stars going to LA.

Everyone I know in China wants to go to LA.

Even my relatives in Hong Kong likes the skyline of LA better than theirs, although Hong Kong is rated best!

Los Angeles have the best foods in the US, and they have almost all of the geography types.

    I just love LA.

In fact, I go to LA every week with my family!

    Go California, too!

  • Los Angeles probably has the most highways in the US than any other city. LA has so many freeways, I can't count. For example:

Interstate 5: the most memorable highway in Los Angeles (a.k.a. the Golden State Freeway)

Highway 2: that connects Glendale to Downtown LA

Interstate 110: that connects downtown LA to the Pacific shores of Long Beach

Interstate 405: that leads to Santa Monica from the city of Downey.

    etc.

Anyways, Los Angeles's nickname should've been "the city of highways".

  • I agree.

Because there are so many cities connected to Los Angeles, we have a lot of highways.

The most major ones are San Francisco, Las Vegas, and San Diego.

Cities like NY and Chicago have very small towns near them.

A lot of highways also lead to world-wide famous attractions, such as Six Flags.

I really love the highways surrounding Downtown.

Freeways, highways, or w/e it is.

I think Los Angeles should be nicknamed "The Techno City"

It has the techno beauty look at night.

    LA ROCKS!

  • Isn't Century City next to where Beverly Hills is?

  • Fox Plaza is located in Century City.

Century City is located in the West side of Los Angeles. Next to Westwood on the west. Southwest of Rancho Park. Cheviot Hills and Beverlywood on the southeast, and northeast of Beverly Hills.

    So what do you think?

Oakland and Century City are somewhat alike.

Century City is about 5 minutes away from Los Angeles, and Downtown Oakland is about 5 minutes away from San Francisco, which you need to cross the two Bay Bridges.

Both of those places are awesome!

  • Isn't Century City right beside L.A.?

  • Yup. About 5 minutes.

There are about 30 skylines in LA.

  • My fav is SanFran

  • Me too!

I went to SanFran this summer.

I really love the bridges. It is totally an another world from Los Angeles.

Bay Bridge, Fogs, and there are tall buildings in every block(Not that tall)

But the foods and things are worse and more expensive like San Diego.

LA is still a great place to live.

More cities are closer, and foods are better, also, things are cheap. You shouldn't really say that gas is expensive since we can travel anywhere in less than 10 hours.

We also have a bridge in LA!=D

  • What bridge is in LA?

  • Vincent Thomas Bridge.

I believe it crosses one of the rivers in Los Angeles.

The bridge is blue-lighted at night, and Aqua-Colored at morning.

It crosses to an island in Los Angeles.

You know what, I never knew there was an island in Los Angeles!

So LA have everything San Francisco have, but San Francisco doesn't have palm trees!

So LA is the most natural city in the world, including most geographical land!

    I really love LA!=D

  • Does it get hot and cold in the winters and summers in LA?

I was in Anaheim (?) back when I was like 3 but I can't remember too much of it..

It does suck that some of Universal Studios got burnt down. : (

  • Yup. Hot and Cold! I don't know if the smog will be worse or more invisible at the winter!

But I think SanFran is weird.

Probably it is hotter at Winter because there are no fogs, which won't block the sun. But at summer, its foggy all 24/7!

    I saw Anaheim's skyline before.

Universal Studios is all fine. We can go there again and have fun=D

  • Have you been on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills?

  • I guess not, but I've been to Beverly Hills.

I never payed attention to streets and stuff back then, so I don't know much

But now, I know a LOT about geography and maps.

Is Rodeo Drive a street full of shopping stuff, with mansions or large houses nearby?

  • Yes. It is one of the richest streets in the world!

  • Yah cause LA is full of stars!

    Beverly Hills deserve it!=D

  • LA and SF are very, very different in many ways, and not because of palm trees which SF does have. They are different in industry and type of business that thrives in each city, landscape, style of cuisine, attitudes, style of clothes, car culture, politics, local food, architecture, weather, air quality, etc.

  • SF and LA have mountains, hills, steep hills, fogs, and islands.

I went to Oakland-SF and I don't see a single palm trees. Sure in towns, but not in the main part.

SF is gays and les, and LA is all about gangs(Which is quite a mistake, LA don't have that much gangs)

But sure, LA is the king while SF is the queen.

    They're very awesome!

  • I love the picture of the fog in downtown Los Angeles

  • By the way, the 777 Tower looks a lot like the US Bank Tower.

  • It does, by the way.

But they are just white with round sides.

US Bank Tower have aqua-colored windows and 777 Tower have black(As far as I can see)

At night, US Bank Tower have powerful white lights, including the crown and the side of it.

Also, 777 Tower have yellow lights powering by the round side.

They really look like each other. White towers, round sides, with lights shooting out from the sides.

Also, they are some of the most recognizable buildings at night.

  • sandiego and L.A!

  • I agree. Los Angeles has the best skyline in California. I wish I was living back in LA again. I miss it terribly.

  • oh and the 1:17 picture is AMAZING (and the lightning one in San Fran but 1:17 is special!!!! lol

  • wow i SO wanna go to LA now lol (obivously i would like to visit the other places but my friend lives in LA) san diego looks really nice!!!! is it a good place to go? also san francisco i never knew was so built up it looks really crowded and being from england i love seeing the skyscrapers/high rise cos we dont have much.... and it looks amazing!!! :) thanks for making this!!!

  • San Francisco is good if you love taking pictures.

Los Angeles is good if you like to eat and play or go to amusement parks.

San Diego is good if you want romantic.

Obviously, if you start from San Diego to go Sacramento it's worth it.

Go San Diego to Chino Hills to Irvine(10)to Long Beach to Los Angeles to Century City(7th) to San Jose(4th) to Oakland to San Francisco to Sacra.

    San Jose is between

Century City, SanDiego, and Irvine is close to Los Angeles while Oakland/Sacramento is near SF.

  • i dnt really like l.a i think san francisco should be no.1 coz to me l.a skyline looks a lil bit messy.. ahh well thats just my opinion

  • Read the discription...

San Francisco is organized, but looks more messy from the air. Los Angeles looks messy only if it is wide. But Los Angeles is more organized than San Francisco.

Oh well the video isnt meant to be unique. Its just meant to say how nice California is in USA.

  • i know you maybe put a lot of work in it but ive to say DAMN why u didnt put some music on it xD

anyway nice done and i think putting LA on no.1 is a very good decision :D

    thx for the video

  • Thanks! You reminded me of the music problem.

Im using the computer that doesn't have music, but the other computer have all those music downloader things.

But even if I put music, there would probably be problems, such as lag.

No matter how good the computer is, Windows Movie Maker would freeze.

I was trying to make this video as simple as possible=D

    Simple is best!
