  • @Lilojn it's called high density upholstery foam :3 thinking of making one?

  • Lil

  • 3:04 Accidental racism. Miscellaneous worker is black.

  • what is that foam called?

  • is there a specific name for the light-weight uncrushable foam?

  • I make mascots. Mascot-making is more business-like than fursuiting. It's based on the price range of the company. This costume is very basic and is the bare minimum of likeness to that design. These people got what they were willing to pay for. More often than not, people that make mascots use more creative range than people who make fursuits because fursuits almost always have the same shape and look. You can't see costumes like Barney and Disney and say that fursuits are always better.

  • @paklack

So do you make mascot costumes more for a company than say an individual?

  • true

  • can someone tell me which material is used to make the legs??its important i wanna make one costume.thnx a lt

  • Pleaseee, Someone can put subtitles in english, ('cuz I need to do a Mascot Costume and I don't speak very good english )

  • im a furry and furry suits are better and look cooler im going to anthracon next summer :D

  • fur suits and mascot costumes are basically the same thing. Fursuits are just tailored to fit one individual person.

  • @Delightbunnie and fursuits have FUR on, not like this dinosaur, and they aren't always supporting something like for example, a football team. or a hockey team.

  • @Kyuubi1161

Not all fursuits are made of faux fur. Some are made with diffrent types of materials like fleece.

As for the purpose, the purpose is all up to the wearer. I heard of fursuits being used for charity and school events. It just depends.

  • this is quite clearly a dragon mr.narrator XD

  • I lol'd. My fursuits are so much better!

  • HOW ARE GLOOMY BEARS MADE!!!

  • fursuits have much more care and creativness than mascots. mascots are hard to move in and dont last as long as fursuits.

  • This one is pretty decent, but I still think I like fursuits more. It's still nice to see how they go about making costumes though.

  • muscular bald men -_- not fit for wearing mascot costumes >-< *shiver* If you know what i mean.

  • fursuits are SOOOO much betta

  • I agree that fursuits are better but this guy is really fancy with a knife

  • Niice!

  • I like those costumes but i want to know what is the kind of foam you are using and are there any foam shops in hong kong? pls answer me thx

  • fursuits for the win ;3

  • hmm. does anyone know where u can get those foam things and the glue?

  • @CPpopedd go to Joannes

  • @CPpopedd

Foam can be purchased in several places the foam they use however is different. High density green foam can be purchased online, where as upholstery foam is more common and can be found in common store like Walmart. As for the glue I don't know what they are using however hot glue and fabric glue have always worked well for me. hopefully this answers your question GL.

  • lol i was voted to be the school football team mascot 2 years ago. apparently my weird dance is so popular with all the students in my school that ive kept the position for 2 years even though its supposed to be a new person every 4 months.

i always wondered how the art department made my jaguar costume... although to be honest i would like to retire - they didnt include a fan and its sooo hot inside xD

  • my mom made me a maskot costume and wnen i put it on and its to tight i choke what do i do?

  • fursuits are so much more detailed and better than this!

  • this is really going to help me for a costume im making

  • I would like to make a mascot costume like tommy hawk

  • 2:40

    Heehee. Doodie...

  • @UltimateExplodingHam HAHA i like the way u think XD

  • omg 3 hours to make one foot @__@;

  • It really annoys me how he says "dinosaur" and "Scales" instead of "dragon" and "wings." Oh well. I guess I'm being pretty trivial, huh? It's a darn cute mascot costume, though.

  • I looove mascots costumes...i dont know why but if i see a mascot walking down a street they immediately turn me on...LOL

  • Comment removed

  • I'm looking for a properly made, yet cheap mascot, under 100$ Anyone here know where to get one?

  • i dont think you can ^^

  • they make it look so easy

  • Fursuits made by the furry fandom are a LOT more detailed and lovingly made than this shit.

  • agreed.

  • true. It takes forever just to make a darn glove. I like how fursuits are actually detailed and are so much more cute and huggable than mascots.

  • @Comilarapa Besides that, fursuit heads have an advantage over mascot heads. We have the ability to make heads that fit the closest to our heads and the innovative moving jaw mechanism. I'll bet they never thought of that.

  • @HyperFoxIII

They have however they have to make a one size fits all costume head. And do not forget we spend far more time and money on our heads alone than they do on their whole mascot costume in many cases. You have to remember that things produced commercially often lack quality in order to get quantity.

  • @Comilarapa

Their is a big difference between the two that being cost. Mascots and other costumes made commercially have to be made quickly, accuracy, and as cheaply as possible they are mass produced. Even unique costume like mascots have to produced quickly with some degree in order to allow multiple costume being made in a short span. However fan made fursuits which are not mass produced allow for more detailing, at of course higher costs. Hopefully you see my point as Ive run out of space.

  • @Comilarapa yeah, they make mascots with WAY less effort because they dont really care, especially if it's not theirs and so it is really cheap to repair. Fursuits are harder to fix but are worth it wa more <3

  • Effin Furries 8=P

  • What kind of marker is that at 0:58?

  • looks like a Prismacolor marker

  • Okay. thanks for telling me.

  • I agree with what has been said before. That's NOT a dinosaur.

  • at one point, the head looks kinda like yoshi :-P

  • Wouldn't that be good for cosplay?

  • dinosaur...blah blah blah...dionosaur...dinosaur...blah blah blah...dionosaur...

I think Its a dragon... Dinosaurs dont have spines and wings.

  • i prefer mixedcandy,com

  • I should probably repost this since I still have the original recording so it would be higher quality

  • how long does it take to make a mascot like that?????

  • What is the name of the "Very Strong Thread??"

  • durable, its much thicker then regualr thread, virtually unbreakable

  • I personally don't like mascots made for sport games. Fursuiting, or 'furries' are a lot more cuter in my opinion <3

  • does anyone know of a good forum for mascot for tips help and sharing idess

    thanks

  • the Fur affinity forums, there is a whole section dedicated to fursuiting.

  • fursuits are better! :)

  • @cheree4life No doubt about it!

  • Not bad but it's definitely not made for wear and tear. I wore a manufactured dragon suit once with a giraffe like neck and it was alright, but wasn't made the best way. I do think they don't always think about how much stress is actually put on the costume from just wearing it about. A lot more than one thinks. Especially if worn at a theme park. Something more reinforced would be better. But this does the job for short time periods.

  • cool I might make a wolf someday

  • Im Making a Lugia Full Body Outfit :)

  • What is that "plastic"? Im from Finland so i dont hear it rigth what its call. :(

  • they were using foam to make the costume

  • what kind of thread?

    ._.

  • i love this show- BUT GOD DAMN, THEY MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY.

    it ain't D<

  • They use special *expensive* tools, I guess.

  • It is if you've been doing it for a long time. I've been building puppets and mascot costume for about eight years now.

  • Whilst this is an excellent representation of how a suit is made, this is but only extremely basic compared to some suits I've seen. Professional costume makers who do this for a living will take an entire month to create a unique suit.

    5 stars out of 5.

  • lol furry

  • nice :)

  • i like that mascot at the begining i wish i had a costume like that one

  • That's Montreal's Youppi! He used to be the Expos' mascot, now he's with Le Canadien!

  • YAY! I loved this Ep!

  • what busniess makes thoes

  • Looking at the sketch's copyright, I'd guess 1-800-mascot

  • Cool! Thanks for posting- kinda funny the narrator keeps calling it a dinosaur- wings horns== Dragon! lol

  • Agreed.

  • Nice video!!! =^_^=
