i think the point of this is same tv different consoles different results. just because ur ps3 looks better on ur tv or w/e thats because it hasent traveled through two mediums to get there. ive seen both consoles on many different tvs and when it comes down to it u cant tell a difference unless they are side-by-side. just be happy the game is actuallly on both consoles.
Xbox looks way better, but has anyone noticed that xbox tends to be too dark sometimes? It just looks unnatural, and wouldn't be very easy to see when playing dark games like Dead Space and Amnesia the Dark Descent.

@klicket89 I Just played it on the ps3 you know with the playstation plus 1 hr trial and yes it looks exactly like that. yes i have my ps3 hdmi setting on full. trust me i'am a tech guy i know what i'am doing. assassin creed 1 was exatly the same thing between versions. don't take this the wrong way but your problem is you haven't played the 360 version. what you see in this video is the exact reasons 90% of the time i bought the 360 version of games over the ps3.

But to comment on the comparing, it's obvious they've changed graphics settings to make the PS3 look bad. I play on 360, and AC2 looks like that, but AC2 on the PS3 looks just as good, too. I've seen my cousin play it on her PS3, it doesn't look like that. Epic fail. *facepalm*

gameplay, higher res, less latency and support for bigger multiplayer matches, they will find these things on PC. If they're looking for something else or don't care about those things then it would definitely not be worth shelling out for a good PC. Consoles do their jobs just fine and for much cheaper.
For those who study occult knowledge, you can pick up on some symbolism and real knowledge that is what drives the human history hidden in this game or used as a plot. Ubisoft is in the know, and is owned by the same templars that us fans are trying to kill in this game. Very interesting.

@Togiveandtotake The templars DID find the arch in jurseilim. And they built the REAL vault. Have you heard of the Moneypit in Nova Scotia Canada? Templar clues point to it and its 100% booby trapped...the more you try to enter, the further the vault sinks into the ocean. They did hide some thing there my friend. or at least a clue to the vault, should it be a mock vault, which could be true. We have to find it, we have 1 year.

The PS3's processor doesn't exactly destroy the 360s........they're very different, but the SPEs on the PS3 aren't like cores. The GPU and memory setup are very different too.
@Usul573 The PS3 has much more powerful hardware. Killzone 2 easily rivals PC games on their highest settings. Xbox 360 has only 77 GFLOPS, While PS3 is north of 300 GFLOPS.
Even I'm not too sure what the actual GLOPs for both consoles are.
GFLOPs are theoretical performance running certain types of code, they don't give any kind of actual indication of what games would run like. It also depends on the developer for how the system is used.
@Usul573 Thats in total processing power in the entire console. Not being a fanboy, PS3 exclusives have some of the best graphics I've ever seen, and the Xbox is seriously holding back the development of gaming graphics. Microsoft made a bad decision rushing the Xbox out like that.
It's all theoretical for certain conditions though.
More than ever before the developers have to work to do the best they can with the processing power for 360/PS3 games. They are both very programmable and everything.
@Usul573 Both are very programmable but the PS3 is much more future-proof thanks to Blu-ray, and the PS3 really shows off what current gen consoles can really do.
Microsoft though, tried to rush the 360 to get it in business before the PS3, and now they face the consequences. Bad hardware design, relatively weak CPU & GPU compared to PS3, and the console itself is really unstable. They semi-fixed with the newest revision of the Xbox, but it still suffers from heat issues and still uses DVDs.
The PS3's GPU can do more calculations and has higher fillrates, but the 360's GPU has more pipelines, has unified shaders, uses DirectX, and has a daughter die. The PS3's CPU can do more calcuations but the 360's CPU is a more simple triple core processor that's easy to use.
Coming out earlier has advantages. I'm a big PS3 fan and I don't even have a 360 yet but I'll defend the 360 if people start yelling about it. I think it's in a bit better position.
@Usul573 I don't think DirectX is much better than OpenGL. As for position, the PS3 is actually in the better position because developers have begun to realize the PS3 is the better development platform. Bioware said it was better, Valve is now making games and said Portal 2 would be the definitive version on PS3, Visceral making Dead Space 2 better on PS3, etc.
As for ease of use, Crytek said they had no trouble working with PS3, so I don't think it's any less troubling than the Xbox.
@Usul573 The Wikipedia page for both consoles is outdated. Charts show they are both almost equal in sales. And TBH, I've worked with the Cell before, it's really not that difficult, it's just either lazy porting or lazy developers. I'm glad to see though that the PS3 is starting to become the multiplatform console of choice, because it's the more powerful machine.
What annoys me though is PC fanboys saying the PC's graphics rapes consoles, but as a developer, only difference is the resolution
@Ringtail23 The PC fanboys are right. Many games on consoles still aren't even native 720p. A good PC port or an exclusive will have better textures, more AA and AF, etc. Combine these things with 1080p+ native resolutions and the ability to play at 60+ fps instead of 30 and it's not even close, sorry to say. I truly doubt you've worked on the cell, as what you've said is just plain stupid.
And I love consoles, I grew up on them. But PC>consoles. Check my RE5 benchmark if you need proof.
@KugelSchwindler25 Slightly better graphics does not constitute the amount of money your paying for PC gaming. Add up the cost of the GPU, the CPU, the case, the fancy mice and keyboards, and your paying a bit too much. People like consoles because thy output comparable graphics to the PC, and are MUCH cheapeer.
And realize it's a matter of preference. This goes to everyone. No platform is "better" than the other because some will agree, but some will not. This something you fail to realize.
@Ringtail23 It's not even "slightly." I was playing Fallout 3 in native 1080p on high settings at 60 fps on a desktop I put together for $600. Weren't PS3's more expensive when they were first released? Hell people shelled out $700-$800 for the first PS3's.

@KugelSchwindler25 PC's are certainly more powerful, but realize console's aren't running windows. Computer hardware has to deal with Windows, and the API's and the game itself. Consoles are running a much lighter operating system, so their hardware doesn't need to be as powerful.
And yes there's a difference in graphic's, but it's not major. A few better textures, lighting, bloom here and there. It's nothing to cry or brag about. And the gaming experience is preference.

Now pop in Fallout NV or AC2 or any other console game and you'll find that the motion sucks compared to CoD. Who wouldn't prefer that their games ran at 60 fps like CoD does? PC does this.
Why didn't Capcom release No Mercy mode on RE5 for consoles? Because they tried, and consoles just couldn't handle that many enemies on screen.

@KugelSchwindler25 They're not necessarily "better". Most people will think 1920x1080 is a cheat code and FPS is a first person shooter. The difference in graphics is there, but most people will not notice it. Most people game on consoles because they're cheaper and you get the same games. In this economy not everyone is gonna pay 1000$ for the same games when you can get it for 200 or 300.

And with Steam sales and such you can save a TON of money on games, as well as with cd key retailers. You can buy Crysis 2 right now for $30. Once you make the initial investment, you end up saving a LOT of money. Hook it up to a flat screen tv and you're all set. If only more people knew these things the PC community wouldn't be so small :(

I a big ps3 person so one thing i have to say is that it looks like you guys want to make the xbox look better as you can see in 0:50 the time is completely the 360 looks better because florence is in day setting one more appealing then on the playstation side which is shady and less appealing but i do admit that xbox has points where it is better but the ps3 also has advantages over the xbox
Other way around really, this video shows that the 360 version's lighting is worse then the PS3. Take a look at the shadows and the night scene. The PS3's shadows are more realistically washed out where the 360's are more black and white.
Also the 360 has no environmental lights during the night scene. It also does not have any of the dust or fog motes that you see in the ps3 version according to this video.

@Togiveandtotake The templars DID find the arch in jurseilim. And they built the REAL vault. Have you heard of the Moneypit in Nova Scotia Canada? Templar clues point to it and its 100% booby trapped...the more you try to enter, the further the vault sinks into the ocean. They did hide some thing there my friend. or at least a clue to the vault, should it be a mock vault, which could be true. We have to find it, we have 1 year.

Most games run a little better on the 360.
The PS3's processor doesn't exactly destroy the 360s........they're very different, but the SPEs on the PS3 aren't like cores. The GPU and memory setup are very different too.

@Usul573 The PS3 has much more powerful hardware. Killzone 2 easily rivals PC games on their highest settings. Xbox 360 has only 77 GFLOPS, While PS3 is north of 300 GFLOPS.

Even I'm not too sure what the actual GLOPs for both consoles are.
GFLOPs are theoretical performance running certain types of code, they don't give any kind of actual indication of what games would run like. It also depends on the developer for how the system is used.

@Usul573 Thats in total processing power in the entire console. Not being a fanboy, PS3 exclusives have some of the best graphics I've ever seen, and the Xbox is seriously holding back the development of gaming graphics. Microsoft made a bad decision rushing the Xbox out like that.

PS3 CPU=200 GFLOPS
360 GPU=240 GFLOPS
360 CPU=95 GFLOPS
It's all theoretical for certain conditions though.
More than ever before the developers have to work to do the best they can with the processing power for 360/PS3 games. They are both very programmable and everything.

@Usul573 Both are very programmable but the PS3 is much more future-proof thanks to Blu-ray, and the PS3 really shows off what current gen consoles can really do.
Microsoft though, tried to rush the 360 to get it in business before the PS3, and now they face the consequences. Bad hardware design, relatively weak CPU & GPU compared to PS3, and the console itself is really unstable. They semi-fixed with the newest revision of the Xbox, but it still suffers from heat issues and still uses DVDs.

It's.....eh.
The PS3's GPU can do more calculations and has higher fillrates, but the 360's GPU has more pipelines, has unified shaders, uses DirectX, and has a daughter die. The PS3's CPU can do more calcuations but the 360's CPU is a more simple triple core processor that's easy to use.
Coming out earlier has advantages. I'm a big PS3 fan and I don't even have a 360 yet but I'll defend the 360 if people start yelling about it. I think it's in a bit better position.

@Usul573 I don't think DirectX is much better than OpenGL. As for position, the PS3 is actually in the better position because developers have begun to realize the PS3 is the better development platform. Bioware said it was better, Valve is now making games and said Portal 2 would be the definitive version on PS3, Visceral making Dead Space 2 better on PS3, etc.
As for ease of use, Crytek said they had no trouble working with PS3, so I don't think it's any less troubling than the Xbox.

Both have sold 51 million? I thought it was 47m for the PS3 and 51m for the 360.
A lot of people do buy PS3 for blu-ray, but whatever. I love mine personally.

@Usul573 The Wikipedia page for both consoles is outdated. Charts show they are both almost equal in sales. And TBH, I've worked with the Cell before, it's really not that difficult, it's just either lazy porting or lazy developers. I'm glad to see though that the PS3 is starting to become the multiplatform console of choice, because it's the more powerful machine.
What annoys me though is PC fanboys saying the PC's graphics rapes consoles, but as a developer, only difference is the resolution

Maybe not difficult but just takes work and time, which sometimes the developers can't do as much of.
Does best for exclusives of course.
PC graphics.....it's not just resolution and other image quality advantages, they can do better effects with DX11 and other stuff.
One thing that will be interesting is when IGPs eventually destroy what the PS3 and 360 have.
Have to wonder what's next.

@Ringtail23 The PC fanboys are right. Many games on consoles still aren't even native 720p. A good PC port or an exclusive will have better textures, more AA and AF, etc. Combine these things with 1080p+ native resolutions and the ability to play at 60+ fps instead of 30 and it's not even close, sorry to say. I truly doubt you've worked on the cell, as what you've said is just plain stupid.
And I love consoles, I grew up on them. But PC>consoles. Check my RE5 benchmark if you need proof.

@KugelSchwindler25 Slightly better graphics does not constitute the amount of money your paying for PC gaming. Add up the cost of the GPU, the CPU, the case, the fancy mice and keyboards, and your paying a bit too much. People like consoles because thy output comparable graphics to the PC, and are MUCH cheapeer.
And realize it's a matter of preference. This goes to everyone. No platform is "better" than the other because some will agree, but some will not. This something you fail to realize.

@Ringtail23 It's not even "slightly." I was playing Fallout 3 in native 1080p on high settings at 60 fps on a desktop I put together for $600. Weren't PS3's more expensive when they were first released? Hell people shelled out $700-$800 for the first PS3's.

@KugelSchwindler25 PC's are certainly more powerful, but realize console's aren't running windows. Computer hardware has to deal with Windows, and the API's and the game itself. Consoles are running a much lighter operating system, so their hardware doesn't need to be as powerful.
And yes there's a difference in graphic's, but it's not major. A few better textures, lighting, bloom here and there. It's nothing to cry or brag about. And the gaming experience is preference.

@Ringtail23 I guess I'm talking about performance, not just visuals. Take the CoD series which runs at 60 fps on consoles. Smooth as silk right? Now pop in Fallout NV or AC2 or any other console game and you'll find that the motion sucks compared to CoD. Who wouldn't prefer that their games ran at 60 fps like CoD does? PC does this.
Why didn't Capcom release No Mercy mode on RE5 for consoles? Because they tried, and consoles just couldn't handle that many enemies on screen.

@Ringtail23 I'm not a fanboy, I love my 360 as well. I just know that my games look much better and run twice as fast on my PC. As they should, I mean I paid $1,000 to build it. Why the hell can't you just admit that a console is way behind a good PC? You get what you pay for. You started this shit anyways.
When I'm playing games at 60-120 fps instead of 30, with better visuals and more enemies on screen, I'll try to keep in mind that "the only difference is resolution." ;)

@KugelSchwindler25 They're not necessarily "better". Most people will think 1920x1080 is a cheat code and FPS is a first person shooter. The difference in graphics is there, but most people will not notice it. Most people game on consoles because they're cheaper and you get the same games. In this economy not everyone is gonna pay 1000$ for the same games when you can get it for 200 or 300.

@Ringtail23 I'm not trying to say the PC is better. All I've been trying to say is that a well-equipped PC easily out-performs a console, as it should considering the cost. Although I do think 60 fps vs 30 is very noticeable, probably the first thing people notice, freaked my console friends out when they first tried it out.
I just didn't want someone to get the wrong idea. Maybe someone who comes across this video is thinking about making a jump to PC. If they're looking for smoother

@Pyromice I agree 100% man. Not to mention PC games are usually cheaper than consoles right off the bat at $50 instead of $60. And with Steam sales and such you can save a TON of money on games, as well as with cd key retailers. You can buy Crysis 2 right now for $30. Once you make the initial investment, you end up saving a LOT of money. Hook it up to a flat screen tv and you're all set. If only more people knew these things the PC community wouldn't be so small :(

xbox -> games are waaay cheapier but with less quality in the case and on the game it self.

The difference between the two consoles is their hardware. Different performance, same graphics (unless it was a bad port.)
Why would a developer make the graphics better for one system than for another?
It's just normal maps, bump maps, textures, etc... In order for it to be different, the dev would have to change that.
As for the colors being different, AC2 has random Time of days.
Anyone who thinks graphics on one system is better than another is an idiot...Only the performance is different.

They intend to pick the best visuals ( best light and angle) of xbox images, and worst of PS3's ( mainly motion artifacted and wrong angle of light) .

Color quality looks about the same and not to mention that Xbox is just a rip off of Ps3 it was mostly just made more around the function of gaming while Ps3 focuses on other things like blueray built in and all that other shit but either way im a hard time sony fan so Ps3 for me but it just comes down to if the game is good to play, not for which system makes it better

Other way around really, this video shows that the 360 version's lighting is worse then the PS3. Take a look at the shadows and the night scene. The PS3's shadows are more realistically washed out where the 360's are more black and white.
Also the 360 has no environmental lights during the night scene. It also does not have any of the dust or fog motes that you see in the ps3 version according to this video.
