i live in minot and i have to say the flood is bringing more people together then before and im happy cuz i havent seen my grandme in like a year and she had to evacuate and now i get to spend time w/ her :) this really IS the magic city :D
When it's something bad like this, oh "God didn't necessarily cause it but may have allowed it". When it's something good, though, "Oh God cured my mom's cancer, it's a miracle" or "God steered the fires away from that little town". Please... the God I believe in would never operate on such a petty level. By nature God's acts and motives cannot be comprehended by mere humanity, nor are the results so ephemeral and meaningless as a flood here or a fire there.
@talshiarr That's why I used the words "not necessarily" and "may have." I didn't and don't claim to know God's act or motives in this situation. This video was meant to be uplifting and an encouragement that God knows what's going on even if we don't.
@amorasmom Thank you for holding the line at America's borders--well, let's include our overseas troops in harm's way, protecting our great way of life.
My sons' Grandfather and Uncle are there in Minot and we sincerely pray for their deliverance and safety, along with all of the other fine folks there in Minot. Rest assured that our prayers are with you, Minot! Trust in Him from whom we all get our spiritual strength and he will truly be there for you!
From the Brazos Valley in Central Texas, our prayers will continue to focus on your spiritual as well as your material needs! May Our Lord and Saviour continue to be with you and to guide you!
thats crazy how fast it came. were will all the people go?its not like you can get a room.and most cant pay 2000 a month for a house.it their is one. its sad
@crazychargerfsu the really sad thing is there literally is NO housing in Minot...because of the Oil most of the hotels are full and you can rarely find apartments...if you do find something it is crazy expensive...
FEMA says it'll look at the housing and what's available then decide if they need to bring anything in to help for housing, obviously they aren't in any hurry
I grew up in Minot and graduated in 1969. We did not have to go to class the last part of the school year because I was busy tearing out all the hard wood floors in the flooded houses. We did entire streets and people were begging us to do their houses next. If this flood is worse, it is really bad. Duayne Dovich
@safarigoo :Thanks for a very good question. I wanted to start by saying that God did not necessarily "cause" the flood, but may have allowed it to happen. I hope you can see there is a difference. Why is a complicated question. I am in no means an expert, but I would say because He has reasons beyond our understanding. We unfortunately cannot see the big picutre. Consider a rebellious child and his or her parents…
@safarigoo :That child may be so stubborn that any attempts of his or her parents to bring that child back to them may be futile, no matter their good intentions. Sometimes a tragic event, although it pains the parents to have to watch their child experience, may lead to the child's return and the realization that his or her parents are needed. The stakes in this situation may be of eternal value…
@safarigoo : What if God loved you so much that he was willing to flood a city to get YOUR attention and the attention of many others? What if he wanted you to know that HIS ETERNAL home for you was more important than a physical one? We trust our fellow man's decisions at times even though we don't know the reasons behind them. Why can't we trust the God of the universe who knows ALL the reasons?
I was in minot when the sirens sounded. Just keep praying. It will get better. Because i beleive in the lord
