All good stories must come to an end, and it must be a satisfying end. I wouldn't have this show ending any other way. If they had added another season it would have totally ruined this show. Good stories are ones where you know where the ending will be, but its just an awesome ride getting there. It always makes me shake my head when I see people pushing for a fourth season of Avatar or an 8th Harry Potter book. They just don't understand.
@sarkoff Harry Potter fans can be happy there'll be eight movies (since the 7th book will be told in two movies); but I was happy it had an epilogue. As far as a Book Four was concerned, I was going for an animated movie. At the time I was experience Avatar Withdrawal Symptons (I never longed for a series to continue after its finale like ATLA). Plus, I was very skeptical that all the tiny, yet important issues like Zuko's Mom, Ursa's Well-being, etc. would be answered in M. Night's movies.

I always thought Koh would play a big part in the future when I saw him in Season 1 finale. It's a shame they can't think of something to satisfy us fans. Disney comes out with crappy sequels to their movies - some are good, while others spawn a series based on the movie. Why couldn't Bryan & Mike done that? I mean, it's been two years - probably pointless. It's just I saw Hellboy II before the Avatar finale and that got me into thinking something spiritual-related would be perfect for a Book 4.

is sozin's comet the VERY last episode? b/c i personally feel tht the avatar story wud not b complete w/o the 4th book...the 1st(water) was about him making his 1st friends mostly and learning his destiny. the 2nd(earth) represented him getting strong. the 3rd (fire) showed him in mostly war-like situations until the defeat of the fire lord..and the 4th(air) i think shud b about restoring peace & answering unanswered questions. the books symbolize a beginning-middle-climax-resolutiion thing
No air, they passed away. There's really not a whole lot they could have done with a fourth season. Based on the way things looked: Zuko's mother is dead, Jet is dead, and uh... That's about it.
I LOVE this series- candidate for my fave TV show. 3rd season wasn't as good as past two (too many filler episodes) but the finale made up for that entirely. Azula's scenes were haunting, and it's awesome how they didn't have Aang kill off the firelord like a character would do in another movie. But I think they should have had Aang banish the Firelord into the spirit world- it would have been dryly ironic. Oh, but Iroh's spirit journey & prison break should have been shown+ Patik didn't show.
ok so is the show done? or is there going to be a fourth season cause each season represented the 4 elements, Season 1 (Book: Water), Season 2 (Book: Earth), Season 3 (Book: Fire), but if it ended then i guess no Season 4 for Air.
aang is the last KNOWN airbender....the fire lord had all the airbenders killed....and the next element to have the avatar would be water....water, then earth, then fire, then air....roku was the one before ang, and kyoshi who was earth before sozin....i haven't watched the sozin's comet movie yet, but it would seem to me that they have a couple hundred years to repopulate the air nomad race....so therefor there could be another airbending avatar.....it all depends on who ang ends up marrying!
The avatar would go to the next kingdom, Probably Watertribe, since Avatar Roku was the last Avatar (Fire), and Avatar Kyoshi (Earth) was the avatar before that, and Aang of course is Air. So that means another Waterbender Avatar is in the offing when Aang dies.

Who knows, maybe Aang can repopulate the air nomads. Aang's child might inherit his airbending and then teach the next avatar airbending. Either that or the avatar can teach themself airbending. I think that's possible.

In an interview, the creator said that after the finale there will still be tons of unanswered questions. But then he assure everyone that they WILL be answered, whether in the movie or in the new avatar series that will be continuing "The last airbender".

I personally loved this movie but I believe it could end the show for that was the entire conflict. Defeating the fire lord. Now, it is all over. This isn't like C.S.I or House, the episodes follow in order chronologically. Other than the mother problem there really isn't much left to solve or fight back at other than rebuilding the Earth Kingdom and what not. Other than that it was a really great movie finale. I loved the music and the conclusion was phenomenal. Aang and Katara finally kiss. ;)

is sozin's comet the VERY last episode? b/c i personally feel tht the avatar story wud not b complete w/o the 4th book...the 1st(water) was about him making his 1st friends mostly and learning his destiny. the 2nd(earth) represented him getting strong. the 3rd (fire) showed him in mostly war-like situations until the defeat of the fire lord..and the 4th(air) i think shud b about restoring peace & answering unanswered questions. the books symbolize a beginning-middle-climax-resolutiion thing

No air, they passed away. There's really not a whole lot they could have done with a fourth season. Based on the way things looked: Zuko's mother is dead, Jet is dead, and uh... That's about it.

I LOVE this series- candidate for my fave TV show. 3rd season wasn't as good as past two (too many filler episodes) but the finale made up for that entirely. Azula's scenes were haunting, and it's awesome how they didn't have Aang kill off the firelord like a character would do in another movie. But I think they should have had Aang banish the Firelord into the spirit world- it would have been dryly ironic. Oh, but Iroh's spirit journey & prison break should have been shown+ Patik didn't show.

aang is the last KNOWN airbender....the fire lord had all the airbenders killed....and the next element to have the avatar would be water....water, then earth, then fire, then air....roku was the one before ang, and kyoshi who was earth before sozin....i haven't watched the sozin's comet movie yet, but it would seem to me that they have a couple hundred years to repopulate the air nomad race....so therefor there could be another airbending avatar.....it all depends on who ang ends up marrying!

The avatar would go to the next kingdom, Probably Watertribe, since Avatar Roku was the last Avatar (Fire), and Avatar Kyoshi (Earth) was the avatar before that, and Aang of course is Air. So that means another Waterbender Avatar is in the offing when Aang dies.

Who knows, maybe Aang can repopulate the air nomads. Aang's child might inherit his airbending and then teach the next avatar airbending. Either that or the avatar can teach themself airbending. I think that's possible.

maybe because they JUST announced 3 mini movies about what happened before and after the series itself
like aangs childhood and zukos mom, returning balance of the nations, etc.
not only that, but because of the insane ratings and fanbase of avatar, the creators of avatar have announced what is basically avatar 2, yes a whole new series with a dif avatar and storyline
although its in very early stages, it WILL happen
we'll see avatar 2 in about a year

Ok, for everyone who has unanswered questions....
In an interview, the creator said that after the finale there will still be tons of unanswered questions. But then he assure everyone that they WILL be answered, whether in the movie or in the new avatar series that will be continuing "The last airbender".

Well, from what I've heard, it'll be SOMEWHAT like that. They'll have different main characters, but you'll see some familiar characters too. But, I can't say much about it. Just know that avatar isn't over.

dragon ball+z+gt are just called dragonball in japan, so no they arent like spin offs, its just continuation
but there are huge time gaps between db/z/gt so they made the titles that way so no one got confused

I can't believe its done now though, it was such a great show with alot of intenseful and suspenseful scenes with great action. BUT DID YOU GUYS PAY CLOSE ATTENTION at the end of the credits? It said that the co-creator of avatar passed away :/

I personally loved this movie but I believe it could end the show for that was the entire conflict. Defeating the fire lord. Now, it is all over. This isn't like C.S.I or House, the episodes follow in order chronologically. Other than the mother problem there really isn't much left to solve or fight back at other than rebuilding the Earth Kingdom and what not. Other than that it was a really great movie finale. I loved the music and the conclusion was phenomenal. Aang and Katara finally kiss. ;)
