I know that the combine aren't going to be the end of it. there might be something even worse in the place. maybe the Gman and his "employers" They might be the ones actually running this whole setup. Don't be confused. Halflife 2 episode 1 is AFTER half life 2. half life 2 episode 2 is after episode 1 and then episode 3.

Basically episode 1,2 and 3 together make up halflife 3

Actually Gabe Newel said himself that he regrets not naming it Half Life 3: episode *.

Together the 3 episodes are supposed to make up the third game, originally the idea that rather than spending a few years making half life 3 you present the game in 3 parts that would come out a few months behind each other...sadly though that didnt go so well since episode 3 has been delayed since like...2008?

@TrojanEpic This is Episode 1. A follow up from Half life 2. They made two Episodes, 1 and 2. I strongly recomend it if you ever consider playing Half life 2 single player again.

This is way more interesting and not like your usual "invaders on earth" story. I really love HL 1 but none of that is because of the story, that game doesn't even need it.

About Gman he is being captive from what i can tell. I have only played HL1 and HL2. I have the orange box byt im getting my PS3 next week.
