The facts about the duration of radioactive toxicity are available in basic physics and calculus books (half-life equations). probably one of the few places i kinda disagree with nader... yes nuclear energy has some problems that we all hate but whats the alternative? keep propping up the far more well government-funded corrupt oil/coal industries? at the end of the day governments are the biggest polluters in the world, the only real solution is to remove them & let people innovate more freely to solve these problems, fusion energy looks promising. also japans more socialist/communist gov is bound to have more probs
solar and wind power for starters. when a power plant goes i.e. Japan people die, cancer for others, soil is destroyed for THOUSANDS of years. We must STOP power plants now. We have 110 of them in USA all potentially deadly to our people and soils, agriculture, animals and milk industry - all of which has now happened in Japan. The alternative is FIRST to stop them all. It's only the very wealthy who made money on them without responsibility.
