@IrishDub18 Because you can not see what the (perfectly positioned) ref can! I doubt they were actually holding on. Lots of good loosies get THEIR hands on a ball and then fake the 'can't pull' to draw the penalty, knowing that they will keep possession otherwise. The bottom line... poor clearance kick from Ireland, excellent kick from the frogs.
@MGoose66@MGoose66 im not denying it was a terrible clearance and sick drop goal, i just thought it should have been a peno, as in my opinion heaslip is on the ball straight away after the tackle.

@MGoose66 well on the subject of this ref, either him or the linesman gave a penalty against ireland for a slap down of the ball ( when sean o brien was running back towards his OWN line during open play, so it went towards irelands line) and all he was doing was trying to catch it.
so if it was going the other way it just would have been a knock on. but he gives a penalty? i couldnt understand it
I'm Irish , but trinh-duc is still such a player.

0:27 onwards. WHY THE FUCK DOESNT THE REF GIVE IRELAND A PENALTY?? theyre player was holding on for 5-6 seconds.
a turnover should happen in an instant, a penalty when they hold on for ages, what a terrible call. change in momentum right there
