  • Notice the LIKES & DIS-LIKES Haters POOF! BE GONE METAL UP YOUR ASS!!!!!!DIE! \m/

  • Glad they decided to put everything out on the table.

  • and I love how James sugar coats everything. 'THE BEHAVIOR SPUN OUT OF CONTROL!' Translation: 'I was being a drunked dumb@ss around my kids and passing out drunk every night. Possibly even causing trouble.'

  • We know that angry alcoholic little kids write the same comment: "Metallica should start drinking again because they suck". When you become mature enough you will realize that James is now a better man, having beaten his demons.

  • Fuck y'all. Face facts. Death Magnetic SUCKS. They SHOULD start drinking again. So fuck you.

  • @RonnyVain89 Troll harder.

  • @RonnyVain89 I would hope when people actually just say they HATE someone or something (Jaymz-MetallicA) should get their story stright-" THEY" All still drink-(red wine a beer here & there just not S#it faced) Family is more important than a beer or a band-or brand name sake(alcoholica) I still Drink,Listen to the Mighty MetallicA & respect other peoples beliefs-values & INTENT! So when you say" face facts" KNOW your facts. Fact you would never say that to jaymz face FACT! Rock on! or F#ck off!

  • Not hating (have all their albums) but why is trip to Russia so important ? (like THEN it started) He was drinking for ages already...

  • Sober Metallica sounds like shit.

  • @Lordinfidel616 Troll harder.

  • @Jonscomin2

I'm not trolling. Their shit now sucks! It's annoying how everyone feels all sorry for james. Do you know him? Does he call you at home?

  • @RonnyVain89 Cool story, T.I.

  • To everyone saying: "James needs to drink to write better albums" is wrong because he was still an addict when he started to write St. Anger.

  • I know Metallica doesn't smoke weed, but I'd like to hear about it if they've ever tried it :)

  • @comeonewtf They have. Lars told that in an interview about Dave

  • @comeonewtf well james tried it once in the early days of his career, he didn't like it, he prefered alcohol

  • I am glad he has overcome his alcoholism and is now a stable table

  • It takes a real man to admit he has a problem, hit it head on and deal with it. James has realized what is truly meaningful in life and celebrates it.

  • James Hetfield used to drink other guys under the table. Now he is the table.

  • RIP

  • I agree. James should start drinking again. Their music is shit now!

  • Good for James for coming clean about his battle with the bottle. Ordinary, non-alcoholic people don't understand alcoholics and they think they should just give it up, simple as that. But it's not as easy as that at all. Alcoholics are driven to drink by an insane compulsion and obsession to drink, even if it's against their will. And despite what is happening to their lives, the booze still draws them back. It is the Master of Puppets, Pulling your strings... literally! I've battled it too...

  • @UnevenElefant5 Who hunts unarmed?

  • So happy he didn't end up like Jimi Hendrix.

  • if I had to work with Lars Ulrich every day I'd quickly become an alcoholic too...he's unberable to listen to, just play the drums Lars.

  • Even if the alcoholist realizes it is tearing their family apart they won't necessarily stop drinking. A family member of mine has known what it does to my family and I for years and he doesn't stop nor will he ever

  • if you cant handle the brown bottle , give it up

  • the bloke is a royal twat.....some kind of monster proves that!

  • .....so good he's sober...not the one that made the idiotic mistake of rcokstar life to die at 27... that would have been so much music and love wasted.. Great goin James, one of the few that grew up and THOUGHT!

  • Um

  • Funny how all of their greatest and most technically skilled material happened when they were drinking their asses off...not exactly what you'd expect. You gotta give credit to someone who can shred so perfectly and precisely whilst being so drunk...how the fuck did they do it??

  • Being thrown out of the house you bought ??? lol

  • @frenchpet I guess you don't have a family.

    Sobriety rocks.

    Lars, get with the program.

  • @frenchpet It's not really about who paid for the house, it's about loosing your family!

  • booze on

  • Metallica dont need alcohol beacase whith alcohol our not THEY STILL METALLICA .

... *o* my cute metallica LOL so cute aahahahah

  • 3:06 gibson les paul sunburst 1959 hell yeah!!!!

  • Alcohol is fun for awhile, then it breaks you.

  • @azrial4421

i think pot is better than alcohol should be made illegal instead of pot that said pot shouldn't be sold to minors

  • @internalpeaceseeker Totally, It saps my motivation but doesnt destroy my health like Alcohol.

  • @renesebasgg

Uhm, did I say they were bad without Alcohol ? No.

So shut your little trouble-seeking ass up. Fucking hell.

  • @LeatherWarlord that like saying you would write better comments on crack, he wanted to break free from the addiction, its not about writing good music when your ripped out of your mind and need help, its about staying alive and keeping the ones close to you

  • @risethelightning seriously

  • @risethelightning besides any true metallica fan knows all the stuff after rehab is still good

  • @Ferniekicksbutt13 bullshit

  • @LeatherWarlord fucking troll

  • @LeatherWarlord Idiots

  • @LeatherWarlord Kinda sad that its true, METAAAL

  • if they got rid of that retard bob rock.....they would be even more awsome

  • And they didn't even give Mustaine a chance. Sad.

  • @rsman169 Enough said.

  • @rsman169 True, can you imagine if they gave Mustaine another chance and if Cliff never died. They would of been the Guns N' Roses of Metal if they split in early 90's. Metallica have a legacy now, but if that happened.... jesus.. they would of had the greatest legacy ever

  • @emokiller907

    ...you're an idiot.

  • @Scarecrow545 fuck you pal, everything I said was true... go away poser

  • @emokiller907

its kind of strange trying to imagine if there would have been Megadeth songs that became Metallica songs had Mustaine never gotten kicked out, but at the same time James has said that an album like Load or Reload may have come alot sooner had Cliff never died because he has more bluesy southern influences then the rest of the guys

  • Metallica are better when they have short hair and living their lifes

  • hetfield somehow avoids the beer gut though...

  • help

  • theyve proved they dont need alcohol by producing death magnetic

  • @WIPEOUT3178 its not about alcohol or needing it. its about getting old and rich as fuck. everything dies. at least metallica can die as happy sobers than insecure pissed off drunks.

  • @WIPEOUT3178 Nicely said!

  • Alcoholica. lml

  • James is either Afraid or Scared about something!

  • @AroundTheWaymon "being thrown out of the house" does he mean the million dollar house he bought, that's fucked up.

  • omg you uploaded this vid on my birthday nice:)

  • Well, alcohol is flammable. I sense it's presence in Death Magnetic! Oh yeah, we've got a lot of great places to hunt in Russia, with no limitations, permits or prohibitions for that matter. Pure fun muthafuckas! A week with the hunters? Ride on James!

  • Well, alcohol is flammable. I sense it's presence in Death Magnetic!

  • Their excessive drinking was part of the natural life style they had on stage and it was also an ingredient they needed for making the music they made...

Sobriety wasn't easy and it showed when they had to recreate themselves...Load and re-load are examples of what sobriety did for them.

In their early days they wouldn't change for anyone, like us or screw you! but they sold out after making the Black Album...

Death Magnetic is like listening to 5 Cds in one, Too much in every song.

  • Is that Sean Penn narrating?

  • he never tried heroin or cocaine, I dont believe it for coke

  • what is the nam of song in 1:53 to 2:24

  • @JRgebruiker

Wasting My Hate. It's off Load

  • @UnevenElefant5 thanks ;D

  • ALCOHOLICA!!!

  • im getting a mental blank.. can anyone tell me what song is playing in the background at about 55 seconds?

  • @SchueY03 Outlaw Torn?

  • @SchueY03 ohh u like that hey !!! mabye you should go buy load and reload there killer albums

  • fill that void? what about money?

  • what was that song at the beginning?

  • @sinkorswim88 For Whom The Bells Toll.

  • what the fuck is this days of our lives bullshit

  • I think this is a bit overdramatic.

I've been an alcoholic, choosing cheap cider over eating every day. One day I just thought, "What the fuck am I doing?" and began drinking less and less to wean myself off. Just because you were an alcoholic at one point of your life doesn't mean you can't drink ever again. Only pussies claim they can't, because they can't control themselves. It's all down to willpower.

Besides, if sobriety brings albums like 'St Anger' I'd rather be absoloutely trashed.

  • @TalonWolf If you can dontrol it, you're not an addict...plain and simple.

  • @Pookiestud Aw hell, I had the suicidal thoughts and the overwhelming urge to drink more. But it's about will power at the end of the day. You don't need to 'find God' or go to AA to get over such an addiction... It's probably a lot easier (it was hard as fuck) but if you've got the 'strength', you've got the strength.

What made it easier for me was the fact I was pretty broke xD

  • @TalonWolf I agree. I quit over 2 years ago....cold turkey. I was pretty broken as well. I was in a very dark place. But I will say that if I have 1 drink, I will be right back to that place, and thats what keeps me from even having one....ever again. Everyone's addictions are different.

  • @Pookiestud Aye, it's a tough one. I suppose you're right - it is different for everyone. I still drink from time to time, but only when it's with friends etc... I no longer go out to the pub or sit in by myself drinking just because I feel I need to. Fair enough, when I do drink I go 'all the way', but gneh - I'm happy that I do it to enjoy myself as opposed to it being out of compulsion.

Good luck for the future though, dude. Two years is a long time, you're definitely over the hard part!

  • Wait what the fuck why was James in Siberia hunting with armed Russians?

  • @UnevenElefant5

because he's bad to the bone.

  • @UnevenElefant5 He was on a vacation

  • @UnevenElefant5 I used to be in love with James Hetfield until I saw the baby bears who had been left to starve to death by hunters. James Hetfield pays large amounts of money to shoot sleeping bear mothers. Then they cut the mother bear open and remove her gall bladder for Asians markets. The babies watch them cut their mother open in horror. Then they leave the babies to starve to death. Something has to be done about this nightmare. IFAW is trying to help the Russian bears.

  • @NicolaRedwooddforest

You were probably 2 years old as this was happening. With your logic why don't you bitch about illegal weapon cashe sell-offs following the demise of the Soviet Union? Go get a real job and stop bitching, or go there and do something about it you arm-chair activist.

  • @Sigsg552 HaHa, Yes, arm chair activist sounds about right. Ha, but I have risked my life protecting animals in person confronting people and bringing the animals into safety. I do that when things happen around me. Usually I am on the computer. Can you understand where I'm coming from, why I do this? I looooove animals and I care deeply about them. That love for animals has priority over my sexual desire for James Hetfield.

  • @UnevenElefant5 James said he would often do things out of the blue so he told Mrs. Het he was going off to Russia. That was that... Some Kind of Monster film.

  • @UnevenElefant5 Filming the video for 'King Nothing'.

  • @UnevenElefant5 Why not? Hunting, vodka...I'd be there

  • @UnevenElefant5 having fun...

  • @UnevenElefant5 That was vacation for mighty Hetfield XD

  • @UnevenElefant5 a hobby to escape from routine that's why

  • @UnevenElefant5 pretty badass, i wouldnt expect anything less

  • @UnevenElefant5

    Why not dude? :)

  • @UnevenElefant5 Two words: Adrenaline junkie.

  • Hanging out with a bunch of Russians with AK-47s and Vodka?

    Sounds fun to me!

  • pussy

  • Lars said he didn't have the guts to act like a friend?

  • Drunk a lot been there .Haven`t had a drink for 3and ahalf years GOOd on you Hetfield.

  • Irony...Mustaine was kicked out for alcoholism

  • @arvydas0069 No he wasn't. He was kicked out because he was A violent drunk and couldn't play well drunk. Mostly because he was violent when he would drink.

  • @arvydas0069 Nah, he was kicked out for being an overly aggressive drunk.

  • whats the song at the end with the cool driving, heavy bass??????????????

  • @NOFseXy the god that failed, great fukin song!

  • @TheAirforce9 shit fukin song

  • @NOFseXy thats The God that faild

  • no wonder i keep drinking beer..... cause of what happened to james hetfield...

  • the old drunk mettalica was more RAW N DANGEROUS ,

but now they've BECOME WISER ...

thats how i see them ,

  • Hetfield circa Justice was the coolest looking dude, bad ass

  • omg they are so rock&roll, haha xD

  • james needs to start drinking again, bcuz their music is loosing its cool.

  • @OvCHOPPERvO ya and jeopardize the future of Metallica?

  • @m169marroquin yes, because it wasnt hurting them before & their 1st three albums were great but they got soft & crappier when they did their 4th album, but yeh, nothing will happen to the band if they started drinkin again homie

  • Fuck James Hetfield! Fucking Sell out poser POS. Just look up his mockery of alice in chains. Don't brand me as a hater b/c i love Metallica. OLD Metallica, back when they stood for something and not record sales. They should have gotten into hard drugs in the early 90's so they would have died before they sold out. Look at all the musicians who live long lives (for musicians), most of their careers go down! Elvis for example, look at him close to death

  • @rocker4u123

Wishing for someone's death via drugs?

I don't care if you like the old ore new Metallica, you're a fucking asshole.

  • @rocker4u123 you do realize that James and Staley were cool and that was just a joke?

  • @key944 lol.... look at all the "jokes" between them. They had a some tensions in the 90's. James didn't realize how good of a musician till Layne died (like most people). Then they honored him on one of their albums or something along those lines.

  • whats the last song?

  • @EM171072 The last song is God That Failed. Took me awhile to remember lol:/

  • Glorify it as much as you want but alcohol is a fuck up!!!!!

  • @cnnr17 yeah I know, same here! What was all that about??

  • Where is this clip taken from? A Metallica documentary? Anybody know?

  • @Gtugcu MTV Icon Metallica

  • @chriscleary24 Danke :)

  • when your in a shack in the middle of nowhere with Russians guns and vodka, a pussy would say it's dangerous. someone like James knows it's official that he's a true fuckin bad ass and you just can't take bad assness to a higher level.

  • Metallica are humans after all. alcohol can cause ALOT of problems and change you as a person (from my own personal expieriences, and in the last 6 or so months i've had alot of stupid/sad/depressing things happen to me because of things said or done whilst drunk)

it is good james got help otherwise the're would probably be no metallica today

  • Metallica was better when they had long hair and drank alot

  • @MIMGPDB typical Metallica "fan"

  • @key944 they r still amazing but in the 80s they were at their best

  • @MIMGPDB Sorry that's not true , you have something to compare them to and in the 80s when they formed they kinda sucked really bad at live playing but look at them now especially after albums like St.Anger and Death Magnetic 2000+ metallica > 1980 anytime of the day :)

  • @tolifruki Naw man your wrong in the 80s the were at their best, they made their best albums like master of puppets and their live shows were amazing (still are)because lars could drum faster and james sounded way better when singing, plus their music ment more not to mention up until 1986 they had cliff burton who to this day was and still is the best bassist in metal history even though he died i liked st anger and death magnetic but your wrong they are no where near as good as their 80s shit

  • @tolifruki Alright let me enlighten you look up their live show in seattle in 1989 and tell which metallica era is more bad ass

  • @MIMGPDB They dont need long hair to be good

  • @Russian99ify lol ikr they kick ass either way bro

  • @MIMGPDB

Load and reload were made in the drunk long haired time you know. Just saying.

  • @Clike666ness I like them albums

  • @Mercer1503

Me too. But he said they were better then, but since most people don't like those albums i just said it it like that.

  • @Clike666ness they were prolly still drunk for load and reload but they got their hair cut and went more hard rock now they are back to metal hopfully for good this time.

  • @MIMGPDB

Yeah but the comment about that they went hard rock because of short hair is bullshit.

  • @MIMGPDB it still kicks ass.

  • @MIMGPDB I agree but metallica were better when they had Cliff Burton

  • @21aektzis cliff burton is the best bassplayer metallica ever had, infact i think he is the best bass player in Metal over all.

  • @MIMGPDB A human life is worth much more than good music, he saved his life. But i agree, their music was way better in their drinking days though.

  • @glassprisioner its not that im say alocohol is what made them good, they were good on their own and still are and hopfully always will be.

  • @MIMGPDB Maybe you don´t know how it is to be an alcoholic? It´s like shit....I can tell you... OK...they may have been doing better music in that days but I think its better for James now when he is sober....

  • @MIMGPDB I think they were good, not because of alcohol but despite of it.

  • @MIMGPDB James' mustache was the thing that made him sing awesome :)

  • @MIMGPDB Your Idiot!!

  • @MIMGPDB yeah, you're talking about real metal music

  • @MIMGPDB ALCOHOLICA...........!!!!!!

  • I agree with @nurburSTIG , james is my hero too.

  • Geez, They are sure honest with each other now. Thats kind of suprising

  • This is always interesting to hear it in their words, instead of someone else's. MetallicA have always been their own worse critic. They are honest with what is around them & stay in the moment!! Come to Cali soon Boys,Cheers Everybody! Cheers!

  • @aatefmagic

"Sad But True" is betther than "sorry but its true"

    see ya dude, from Chile.

  • some of the best bands made there best albums off drugs and alcohol... Sad but true!!! no pun intended lol

  • Reminds me of bthe Ozzy song "demon alcohol"..(Ill get you). It is an addiction. Some people can stop drinking at the drop of a hat...others cant break the pattern.

  • Sean Penn (appears to be narrating this at one point) always sounds drunk.

  • Did Dave pass the alcohol problems to James???

  • @Metallica43211 no James was like that before but i do think he passed other problems

  • rehab was the best thing! he would've been dead if he didn't go to rehab!

  • gud job they never saw coke....

  • Comment removed

  • These guys are almost 50.You cant abuse the body like you did when you where 20.Look at Mustaine,he's been to rehab like 15 times. It's pretty cool that James,Lars and Dave are good friends again.

  • what is this dvd called?

  • @schluffyRL

    it's from "mtv icon: metallica"

not sure if you can get it on dvd.

  • lol!!! "we were so drunk, thats why i dont remember anything of the kill em all tour"

  • is he sober now though? ive heard he went back to drinking

  • What would off had happen if James wouldn't had come back? Do you think that Lars would do something to get Dave Mustain back?

  • Master of Beer lmfao
