Haha! Very funny video! You get upset about ExxonMobil, but ExxonMobil represents everything the US stands for! Its a stupid, lazy, rich and FAT company. Welcome to Exxon, Welcome to America.
Greetings from germany. God bless your "great" America...
"APCO has been a great partner for our company in continuing to develop efficient and innovative strategies to influence the public's perception about the science of human-caused climate change. Today, around half the American population doubts that the burning of fossil fuels has an impact on the earth's climate, which is an invaluable condition for our company's growth potential. This is in no small part thanks to APCO's expertise and professionalism." - Lee R.Raymond, former CEO ExxonMobil.
Good girl. Its not Exxon Mobils fault that Americans are lazy and dump. This is a capitalist country, thats why 300 million not too smart Americans are living in a global super power.
yes it has absolutely nothing to do with hard work. That is how you get to be the richest wealthiest country in the world in 200 years..being lazy and dump. If that is the case the Europeans should be multigazzillionaires by now.
Maybe our economy is such shit because we Americans don't even support our own American owned corporations, instead every company is going overseas because all people do is complain about polution. god forbid if there is a manufacturing plant on American soil. It is destroying the environment. please shutup
Exxonmobil doesn't let maintenance interfere with their profits!! We live on a ranch where ExxonMobil operates a lease. It's crazy how much they let just dump on the ground. I guess when you are rich and Exxon, you can afford to just spill oil. No big deal for them.
Drivers fed up with the high cost of gas are taking part in a month long rolling gas out. A non-partisan coalition of motorist is calling their campaign ***KISS MY GAS.
***
It wants people to boycott EXXON and MOBile gas stations starting Sunday at midnight for the next month.
The group then plans to target another leading gas station the following month and so on.
Exxon's profits as a percentage of revenue are about 9% which is the average for all weighted companies in the U.S. economy. The only difference is their size, but they deal with the most abundant and useful natural resource on the planet. Oil is the largest market in the world and will be for some time. Gasoline is now expensive - everybody demands oil - get over it.
WE MUST STOP John McNasty, who called his own wife a c&nt! -- MCCAIN IS AN ANGRY, CONFUSED WARMONGER REPUGnican!!! -- REPUG = Gas Near $3.40 Per gallon -- REPUG = WAR, WAR, WAR & saying "Water-Boarding Isn't Torture" -- REPUG = REPUGnican BATHROOM SEX SCANDALS -- = Katrina,Tainted Pet Food, Lead in Kid's Toys... I don't get it... Gas prices are high not because of ExxonMobil... They are high because of the OPEP (don't know what it means, Google it!). In addition to that, USA is a capitalist country... Check the price of oil. Now check your consumption in relation to that. If you're not consuming any less, oil is still priced correctly.
Exxon treats its shareholders well and knows how to run a business. If you want to blame someone for gas prices, blame your president. Blaming Exxon for high gas prices is like shooting the messenger; if anything, you should be thankful for Exxon not taking shit from places like Venezuela.
Haha! Python screen cap. Can't wait to see the $70 barrel again. And wow, those must be the longest earrings ever. Really make your neck look stretched...
Call me dumb, I would not invest in a commodity this late. There are signs that the economy may be strengthening again. If so, the price of commodities may fall as people dump them for an investment with a higher return. Opec is smart and doesn't lie, the demand for crude has not kept pace with the high prices caused by the credit crunch. Once this financial disaster is over the price may fall some, it has been artificially high as people bought it up for investment, not consumption.
Why is it no major network show such as yours is covering the ongoing travesty of the Exxon Valdez oil spill. Nineteen years have past and Exxon won't pay what they can earn in less than a month and this isn't news worthy?
This perky little beotch doesn't get it! There are other companies that are having record profits, so why can't the oil companies? I think people like her need to go back to school and take another economics lesson about free market... or take your first lesson in economics. It's called supply and demand. As long as OPEC controls a majority of the output, and as long as there's no ANWR drilling (b/c we don't want to shift the caribou 25 feet) then expect higher gas prices and higher profits.
It's not funny.I know she's being glib and coy as to get her point across but it's our lives,(dying for mid-east oil),and our future that's at stake here.Corporations like exxon/mobil not only don't give a damn about you but also they seemingly don't give a damn about their own sons and daughters because,by making america dependant on foreign oil, you're weakening the infrastructure of our once great nation.

You're right! And tell you what, why don't you let Exxon and other oil companies drill for oil in your backyard and see what happens to your neighborhood as they do it. All that lovely lovely sludge they leave behind will do wonders for your garden. Although, the pollution they pump out will mean you'll have to leave your home. No worries though, you'll be able to afford all the gas you need to drive your SUV to safety...as long as there is a place left to go.
Oil is natural. Made from tiny carbon life millions of years ago. Its the gift of life from the earth. You want to go back 200 years. Life was much harder. And its much easier now for one reason OIL. Now solar wind will come, hopefully more nuke power too. But right now the batteries are not good enough, and theres not enough room in cities for wind wheels. What we should be doing is feeding the world, but idiots like you guys would rather burn our food then give it to the hungry.
Wow, you're really uninformed aren't you? Although oil is natural, but the refinement process it undergoes isn't. 2ndly the advancements that have been gained through using oil are great, but we've reached a point where we can see the negative effects and need to find alternatives. 3rdly, nuclear energy is not a viable solution. Nuclear energy is potentially far more dangerous. Look at Chernobyl. And lastly, we're just saying we need clean alternatives, not get rid of oil entirely.
Nuclear is the cleanest energy. Cheaper by far then anything else. Chernobly happened from dumb russians pushing the reactor way beyond its design. It would never happen here. The atom was made to be split. We shouldn't be scared, we as people are more than capible of doing this. But thats the difference between us, you wine about things, and we make things happen.
What are you gonna do with all the nuclear waste then? North Korea's only so big. Do you have any concept about how long nuclear fuel stays radioactive and what kind of measures need to be taken to store it? Chernobyl did happen because the technicians fucked up, but that's an example of the kind of shit that can happen if countries with low safety standards start playing around with that shit. Nuclear fuel is a stop gap solution to power needs.
billion dollar facility yuka mountain. it goes in case that can not be broken. goes thousand feet in the ground, no rain run off. and for the next thousand years it sits. SCARY!!!!!
I hear that. It's also because we can speak our minds more than they can cause nobody really gives a shit what we say to each other. And, if you can profit on Exxon's success, then why not? It seems wrong, but who gives a shit.
And what the fuck is that comment about us wanted to burn all the food? I have no idea what you're talking about. Do you plan to eat oil or something?
biofuel. we burn corn and grain, raising prices for the poor. And what other idiot did that to a prolonged the great depression? Thats right the Great president FDR. World food prices are skyrocketing, Africa, Asia they are in huge inflation. So think about that while you snack on your doritos.
I don't believe in biofuel either because the refinement process for that shit uses ridiculous amounts of water. Don't confuse me with with some of those militant hippies out there. And in response to a previous comment you made, they do have batteries 4 cars that last up 2 4hrs on a 1hr charge and can go up to 400kms. But GM and other big companies bought out the patents and won't release the tech. Watch "The Death of the Electric Car". Battery powered cars have been around for a while.
Im talking about houses and bigger things. your right about the car. but the reason it went away is because no one bought them. I saw the movie. electric cars are coming back, but they still get their power from oil, because thats were the power in the socket comes from. And those cars look stupid. I meet that baywatch chick from the movie, buff
Well, if your powerplant runs on fossil fuels then I guess that's where they get the power from, but fossil fuel powerplants are rarely used cause they're inefficient compared to coal, hydro, or nuclear. And the car didn't die because nobody bought it, it was never even put on the market because car companies realized they wouldn't make money off repairs, and because of the pressure from oil companies. Check out the Tesla Roadster, they're actually making electric cars look good for once.
1. USA invaded to SHUT OFF the OIL from Iraq cause it would not abide by the OPEC guidelines for slow production.
2. American G.I.s did the fighting and dying for OPEC nations that did NOT want to attack Iraq, cause Saddam was our puppet Dictator and we fed him Chem bomb to WAR with IRAN, killing 1 million on both sides. No OPEC naiton wanted USA Chem bombs given to Iraq by Reagan/Bush So, Saudi befriended Bush Family gave big $ & we did
What is Exxon supposed to do, give away their product and tell their employees to work for free? Maybe ruin their stockholders life savings? Think people, if you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the Arabs for they get our money, be mad at congress for not allowing new drillng or nuclear fuel, and not encouraging new alternatives like (not ethanol) hydrogen or electric, and be mad at YOURSELVES FOR CONTINUING TO DRIVE YOUR MASSIVE SUV'S...don't complain about what you're wasting
I agree, it's easier to point the finger then look in the mirror. I don't think we should allow new drilling though, but massive funding on alternate clean fuels is a wise investment since we don't won't have to spend a bunch of money on wars for oil... (cost efficient in the long run) doesn't mean the US empire won't go to war for other reasons unfortunatly :(
Plenty of people are spending millions on this shit. Its coming down the future. GLOBAL WARMING IS A HOAX, WAKE UP PEOPLE. Look at the numbers. Coldest winter in china a hundred years. it fucking snowed in baghdad. Theres this thing called el nino and la nina. they effect everything. when we have el nino we have hot summers, short winters. the opposite for la nina, which were in now. Try doing real research, dont just watch a movie made by an idiot. And they effect the hurricans in the atlantic
Global warming is not a hoax (perhaps you should read the statistics), the cause of the earth warming is still up to debate however (man caused or natural... is that what you were trying to say?)... In my opinion (which all we can do now) its part of a cycle and natural occurance. I was saying that renewable energy is the key to our future, not non-renewable energy... and actually it is renewable, it just takes millions of years :)
"XON paid taxes to the government.". . .Yes, it did. According to their Income Statement XOM paid 28B in income taxes in 2006. (It's called research - it backs up your argument).
But you didn't take into account the grants and fed gov backed loans. Most of it comes from the Energy department, or from Homeland security, which makes it hard to track. The end effect is that Exxon receives more money than it pays.
No I don't. Because we don't have enough refineries in America to manufacture all the gas we consume and because companies aren't allowed to build any new ones, they're forced to build them in Mexico or maybe Canada. So the refineries DO get built no matter what. But because theyre located in other countries, the gas they produce now has to be shipped across America which increases the cost plus pollutes more because of all the semi's used.
It's also the refining process itself. So, despite Americans having to pay more money for oil, they shouldn't have to in the first place because the economy and society shouldn't be so dependent on oil.
There has been speculation for some time that Pelosi and liberal Members of Congress were meeting behind closed doors... planning to unveil a 5-year amnesty plan in the Spring.
gas now is $3.55 in California and 60 billion a year profit for Exxon and their elite owners Rockerfellers
whatever! that was really weak and if there will be a true shift to "greener" energy...who do you think has teh capital to finance the R & D...Green peace? buy th estock...you will not be sorry!
you should be happy that they made good money. XON paid taxes to the government, and who benefits from the taxes...the unemployed, food stamps, infrastructures...sometimes you need to analyze before bashing american corp.
"XON paid taxes to the government." That's a good one. Talk about naive! Hey teddy8979, I have some beach front property in Arizona I'd like to sell you.
Although it's good that they paid taxes to the government and kept the economy alive, it really doesn't help anybody in the long run with what they're doing to the environment. Mind you, they are a business that is just providing supply to the demand, so while they're a bad company, we (the consumers) are a lot worse.
your absolutely right they are all business, but you can't blame XON for that. so far the ecofriendly ethanol drives up the corn base products prices.
Yeah, ethanol is a joke. While you can't blame XON for being profit driven, but you can hold it responsible for the ecological damage it causes through it's acquisition & refinement of the product they're selling. If they had far more environmentally friendly ways of conducting those actions, then there wouldn't be as big a problem with them. Corporations have the responsibility to inform their shareholders and consumers of their actions, and not simply obtain supplies at all cost.
they legally can't make their refineries more ecologically sound because more energy efficient and green refineries can't be built, and haven't been built in 30 years, because of laws in place to "protect" us from pollution. Instead they limit technological advances that would make cleaner facilities.
But u have 2 understand that oil companies have a thing called lobbyists. Lobbyists r the 1s who pressure members of government 2 make changes in their favor. While the people ultimately have the power, it takes a great deal to mobilize a group that large into action, so lobbyists usually get their way. If oil companies were 2 inform the public about the legal roadblocks they face in trying 2 build better refineries, then the people would mobilize, but companies have to protect the bottom line.

billion dollar facility yuka mountain. it goes in case that can not be broken. goes thousand feet in the ground, no rain run off. and for the next thousand years it sits. SCARY!!!!!
ppinyoface 3 years ago
That is creepy. The point is to not have to worry about burying stuff in the first place though right. As I said, it's a stop gap solution.
paulwes1983 3 years ago
the sad part is that 2 people on youtube debate this better then the canidates. O and i plan on buying XOM soon its cheap at 76.
ppinyoface 3 years ago
I hear that. It's also because we can speak our minds more than they can cause nobody really gives a shit what we say to each other. And, if you can profit on Exxon's success, then why not? It seems wrong, but who gives a shit.
paulwes1983 3 years ago
And what the fuck is that comment about us wanted to burn all the food? I have no idea what you're talking about. Do you plan to eat oil or something?
paulwes1983 3 years ago
biofuel. we burn corn and grain, raising prices for the poor. And what other idiot did that to a prolonged the great depression? Thats right the Great president FDR. World food prices are skyrocketing, Africa, Asia they are in huge inflation. So think about that while you snack on your doritos.
ppinyoface 3 years ago
I don't believe in biofuel either because the refinement process for that shit uses ridiculous amounts of water. Don't confuse me with with some of those militant hippies out there. And in response to a previous comment you made, they do have batteries 4 cars that last up 2 4hrs on a 1hr charge and can go up to 400kms. But GM and other big companies bought out the patents and won't release the tech. Watch "The Death of the Electric Car". Battery powered cars have been around for a while.
paulwes1983 3 years ago
Im talking about houses and bigger things. your right about the car. but the reason it went away is because no one bought them. I saw the movie. electric cars are coming back, but they still get their power from oil, because thats were the power in the socket comes from. And those cars look stupid. I meet that baywatch chick from the movie, buff
ppinyoface 3 years ago
Well, if your powerplant runs on fossil fuels then I guess that's where they get the power from, but fossil fuel powerplants are rarely used cause they're inefficient compared to coal, hydro, or nuclear. And the car didn't die because nobody bought it, it was never even put on the market because car companies realized they wouldn't make money off repairs, and because of the pressure from oil companies. Check out the Tesla Roadster, they're actually making electric cars look good for once.

Funny, but avoids hard TRUTH.

Think people, if you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the Arabs for they get our money, be mad at congress for not allowing new drillng or nuclear fuel, and not encouraging new alternatives like (not ethanol) hydrogen or electric, and be mad at YOURSELVES FOR CONTINUING TO DRIVE YOUR MASSIVE SUV'S...don't complain about what you're wasting
nhtyger 3 years ago

And they effect the hurricans in the atlantic
ppinyoface 3 years ago
Global warming is not a hoax (perhaps you should read the statistics), the cause of the earth warming is still up to debate however (man caused or natural... is that what you were trying to say?)... In my opinion (which all we can do now) its part of a cycle and natural occurance. I was saying that renewable energy is the key to our future, not non-renewable energy... and actually it is renewable, it just takes millions of years :)

"XON paid taxes to the government.". . .Yes, it did. According to their Income Statement XOM paid 28B in income taxes in 2006. (It's called research - it backs up your argument).
awahl15 3 years ago
Sorry about the snarky parenthetical statement at the end.
awahl15 3 years ago
But you didn't take into account the grants and fed gov backed loans. Most of it comes from the Energy department, or from Homeland security, which makes it hard to track. The end effect is that Exxon receives more money than it pays.

Let companies build more refineries and the gas prices WILL fall. Regulations more than anything else are what's driving up prices.
crazy2004 3 years ago
Refineries drive up pollution levels and cheaper oil prices cause populations to use more oil. See the problem?
paulwes1983 3 years ago
No I don't. Because we don't have enough refineries in America to manufacture all the gas we consume and because companies aren't allowed to build any new ones, they're forced to build them in Mexico or maybe Canada. So the refineries DO get built no matter what. But because theyre located in other countries, the gas they produce now has to be shipped across America which increases the cost plus pollutes more because of all the semi's used.
crazy2004 3 years ago
It's also the refining process itself. So, despite Americans having to pay more money for oil, they shouldn't have to in the first place because the economy and society shouldn't be so dependent on oil.
paulwes1983 3 years ago
There has been speculation for some time that Pelosi and liberal Members of Congress were meeting behind closed doors... planning to unveil a 5-year amnesty plan in the Spring.
gas now is $3.55 in California and 60 billion a year profit for Exxon and their elite owners Rockerfellers

you should be happy that they made good money. XON paid taxes to the government, and who benefits from the taxes...the unemployed, food stamps, infrastructures...sometimes you need to analyze before bashing american corp.

"XON paid taxes to the government." That's a good one. Talk about naive! Hey teddy8979, I have some beach front property in Arizona I'd like to sell you.

teddy8979 3 years ago
Although it's good that they paid taxes to the government and kept the economy alive, it really doesn't help anybody in the long run with what they're doing to the environment. Mind you, they are a business that is just providing supply to the demand, so while they're a bad company, we (the consumers) are a lot worse.
paulwes1983 3 years ago
your absolutely right they are all business, but you can't blame XON for that. so far the ecofriendly ethanol drives up the corn base products prices.
teddy8979 3 years ago
Yeah, ethanol is a joke. While you can't blame XON for being profit driven, but you can hold it responsible for the ecological damage it causes through it's acquisition & refinement of the product they're selling. If they had far more environmentally friendly ways of conducting those actions, then there wouldn't be as big a problem with them. Corporations have the responsibility to inform their shareholders and consumers of their actions, and not simply obtain supplies at all cost.
paulwes1983 3 years ago
they legally can't make their refineries more ecologically sound because more energy efficient and green refineries can't be built, and haven't been built in 30 years, because of laws in place to "protect" us from pollution.
