The Sims 3: Create a World, Bridges

Okay..I've been trying my hardest to use the Suspension Bridge as my bridge but I can't get the measurements right for my bay or river or to make both lands equal to each other. Anyone have suggestions?

what does it mean when they say "please add a new layer before adding an object to the world"? that's what I'm kinda stuck on, but i never had that problem before, and it says that while im in building my world. help??

As I don´t have expansion packs, I have to use the first method.

What I want to know is that if I just place a piece of road through

the bottom of the river as you did as the first step then will the cars

drive through the river?

Okay figured out a helpful tip for when raising bridges up you have to turn off the grid to make it work right :D otherwise your just moving the bridge instead of moving it up

I know this is for bridges but for the river part..or creating a river do I use Valley steep? To make some type of hill so it's easier for the road? Or had some height to the bridge? Please help :)

I was thinking for this without WA, Late Night bridges... or whatever. How bout painting the side of that raised land to form a bridge like some masonry/stone types? then add a little tweaks just to make it look like one? I haven't tried it yet but I really thought of doin it since I don't have small bridges from WA.

You really can't build either bridge without the expansion because the "wall - stone rail" object isn't anything like the "fence" object used in this video and it's not suitable for concealing the terrain. Without the expansions, the only "wall" objects are the "stone rail" and the "post".

@mswhiteblankpage1 It means that you have to add a layer. Go to the World Layers (on the left), right click "World Layers" folder, select "Add Layer".

@fairlygoodman As long as you have the expansion, you can use any bridge that is available. Just search "Steadfast"" in the Metadata and the Ambitions bridge will pop up.

@avpgm You have to install CaW yourself, from the "Free Stuff" menu on thesims3.com. You do get new bridges and other objects with the new Expansions, though.

I need help. I got all sims 3 expansion packs and the Regular sims 3. I installed the Create A World tool. When I used it, It says. Uninstall the tool and re-install. Help me? I re-install it and it don't work. I needed the new version. Help?

And, on a less informative note, I can't seem to get ymy road to snap to the suspension bridge. The road is always half of a square off, and when I try to move it, it gets half a square off in the other direction. Same with the bridge. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but there are new bridges with each expansion pack. We got the Truss with Ambitions and the Suspension Bridge with Late Night. They're with the other bridges, along with a few different train track bridges(Not sure which expansion those came with)

Is this program STILL a beta!? They came out with it a year ago! Why is it still a beta? Maybe because it will be its' own program once they finish making expansions and putting the new stuff INTO the CAW program. . . . .but still. . . . they could still do that to the fully made program in the form of an update.

I am having a bit of trouble with the road... I place it and then it keeps on connecting other pieces to the part I initialy wanted to have only. How the heck do you turn it so that you put just a little piece out? It really does not want to stop placing roads in my setting for some reason and I know I am overlooking something... right click the world layer, click add new layer... easy.

I can't seem to be able to get the rail to show up in my game. I've tried zooming in and out and nothing. I noticed on your screen that on your world layers tab it is showing up under game objects. Mine is not doing that when I click on the different objects in Medadata. Do I need to make a new layer to have it work or is there something else I am forgetting to do?
