Alot of times People cant afford both, Do you discount since you will be playing 2/3 of the time? Or discount to share the gig? I've never had the opp to do this clients either go with a band or a DJ.
@BoogiemanUSA It does end up being discounted slightly due to the fact that I'm playing less...but only a little. I still emphasis the direction, planning, special services, etc to try to bring the package price back up to the same level or higher.
@BassIsLoadedDJ HI i am a professional dj from ireland for 20 years now and 90% of the time i will follow a band, its the done thing over here, and yeah at times it can be hard work, confidence is the key,and i totally agree that entertainers/djs (because thats what we are) are under rated, and often you will find the djs part of the night is the most memorable. goto do some vids myself, looks fun

Hello Rick. I am please to say you hello.thank you for your help !!! I am a wedding dj from Spain. I bought the k12s because your vid and I am very happy with theirs. I own the hpr 122 too. I need a little more power sound when a I work in any indoor place. I was thinking in a pair hpr 152, or the k12 or hpr 122 with the help of a hpr 181 sub. What do you think? is there so much difference between the ksub and the 181 sub? Thanks and sorry for my english. You can visit my vids on javibodas
@javimontanes All the gear you have is great! I would say there is a definite difference between the sound and the applications of the KSub and HPR181i. I own both and I typically will use KSubs in smaller indoor events, and rely on the 181's for larger and/or outside events. Stay tuned for the KW series that is coming from QSC. The KW181 looks amazing on paper, can't wait to hear it for myself. Thanks for watching.

I am surprised how many couples I meet with do not have a "timeline" sheet completed and someone who executes the directives which are contained on the sheet!( MC or DJ). The event must look totally chaotic with all the gaps and decisions being made on the fly in regards to the flow of activities and traditional events taking place! When I finish a gig the thing I am most proud of is the accomplishment of keeping the event transitioning from one activity to the next seamlessly with no chaos
@mcfann1013 Thanks Casey. The truss stands in the video are made by Global Truss out of California. They are spendy (especially the freight)...but well worth it and actually will pay for themselves very quickly. The do look pretty cool, and the lighting wash (separate) can match the color to the room & decorations. Just a nice overall touch. Shoot me over an email at agiprodj.com if you want pricing. Great advice on bands. Very elegant wedding clip at 2:55, chair covers, guests dressed up, but you're in a polo and khaki pants during the grand entrance?
@djboentertainment I was waiting for someone to say that. My clients chose the venue, they chose the feel for their wedding, the chair covers...and they also chose my attire. I give my clients the option to pick what I wear (tux, suit, shirt & tie, khakis & polo, etc). That's what they wanted to see me wearing. This is definitely a hot topic. A lot of DJ's feel you're not a true "entertainer" without a tux or a suit. I guess I just do things a little differently. Thanks, Bo.
Spot on, i was about to say, what if we dont have the technology you do? its not what you own its how you perform and sell yourself, make the best of what you have then move on from here, perfect video, does not just apply to bands
Another great video =] i actuly had a gig las saturday with a band as well the only problem i had was they didnt really let me play as much as i wanted 2
Great stuff, More often then not the bands aren't Emcees, nor is their playlist as tight as a DJs.
If you are a good dj, you won't replicate the bands songs with the original singers, and when they end on a slow, start with a fast and vice versa, I like the anti skip tech too!
U hit it right on the nose........I deal with that all the time. Like this weekend we are playing with a large band and I am to play in-between the band breaks. And most important the ceremony . Good video.
@djmaverick It wasn't pretty but it worked. I remember doing college gigs up inside the top floors of barns. The floor would literally rock up and down. I'd settle for 4-5 skips a night with the foam vs. 100 without. Thanks man.
What i find Rik is a band will only play 2 45 minute sets, so it helps to have DJ too because as DJ's we can slot our set within a bands set. I have worked with bands many times.
@southlondondisco And that's exactly what I did as well, DJ'd video sets during their breaks. Also provided the sound reinforcement for them. Thanks for watching!
dude you make me feel more proud to be a dj thaks
