  • I liked this show and i especially like the main character of the show hes hot.

  • I never saw this show on TV when I was a kid...and I'm Canadian lol.

  • I loved watching this as a kid, 90's all the way!

  • best. theme. ever.

  • This brings back memories of the mid 90's. I use to work in a night club called Batchwood Hall in England. Before setting off to work on a Friday evening, I would watch Due South. I never missed an episode. I love the theme tune and story lines, also very good acting!

  • Is it just me...Or does Paul Gross look slighly like John Barrowman??

  • God I wish I could go back to my childhood in the awesome 90s....

  • @NosheenM Let's hope there are enough of us to make a difference. :-)

  • I hope they make a film of this show. With Fraser and Meg Thatcher getting each other at the end. Incidentally, since the RCMP deal with internal secuiity work in Canada, they'd have plenty of reasons to meet even after she joins the Secret Service.

  • @Ojevindlang I would love for that to happen.

  • who are these 3 people disliking this?

  • this was a great fukn show, incedentally does anyone remember when tv was an escape from reality??

  • This show was so much wonderful nonsense. Apparently Candians do own guns. Learned that lesson the hard way, I tell you what.

  • It is stupid to say there is nothin but cookery programmes, there are more great programmes now more than ever. Boardwalk Empire, Psych, 24, Supernatural to name but a few.

  • i miss these old canadian shows! they need to replay them, im sick of this dragon den shit! like wtf!!?? lol

  • i love this version it's got that sweet sweet harmonica and guitar solo

  • good ol 90's

  • I've been recorded about 12 episodes to watch over the Christmas break. Nothing like a Due South marathon.... duesouthathon (?)

  • how can you not like due south. it was well shot ,colourfull, funny and had some riveting episodes. thanks for some good tv....... rip mr neilson you were a star .

  • Great theme-song, I used to watch this when I was a kid! Getting nostalgic!

  • I forgot how much jumping out of cars/buildings or on top of cars/grannies there was in this show.

  • EPIC!!!

  • I never realised how gorgeous that cop (is he? I forget) was. But then I used to be a homophobic bastard

  • Due south was a great show on bbc2, back in the good old 1990's! I think i used to watch it straight after neighbours on bbc1.

The days of good shows like due south, are gone.

Now there is only cookery programmes.

  • I love this show and it's on BBC 2 at 1pm but I can't watch it cos I'm at school :(

  • I loved watching this growing up! Gives me a feeling of nostalgia missing those days :)

  • I used to watch this when I was playing sick and staying off school! Haha. Tv sucks these days.

  • So much love here ~ saw it again today ~ longed for my Canadian cop ~

  • This takes me back to my childhood...and it's playing on BBC 2

I have one question though, why is the other guy who came after Ray called Stanley Kowalski, I'm also aware he's meant to be Polish, is his character connected in some way to Stanley from A Streetcar Named Desire? If not then thats one hell of a coinsidence.

  • @stupidintellect90 Stanley Kowalski mentions in one of the episodes that his father is a fan of Marlon Brando who plays that character in the film A Streetcar Named Desire.

  • @NosheenM Ahh that explains it then, I was just a little bewildered as I've just started studying Streetcar and also started watching Due South. As a matter of fact after watching the film, I decided my future son is to be named Marlon :)

  • @NosheenM That and his ex-wife is named Stella. I always got a chuckle out of that running gag.

  • @stupidintellect90 loved it!!!!!!

  • To everyone in the UK - Yay! They are showing DueSouth on BBC2 every afternoon @ 1pm. BBC equals no add breaks...bliss. Should really be shown in the evenings so more people can watch but it's better than nothing. But that is what Sky+ and BBC iPlayer are for :-D

  • @NosheenM Watching it right now!

  • One of my favorite shows, though I much preferred the theme tune in the first two seasons before they messed with it.. I thought the added instruments kinda messed with the mood of the song, but that's just my opinion. Great show, ended much earlier than it should have.

  • this and martial law were the shit when i was growing up, i miss actual good tv

  • Brilliant tv show! not like the kack they put on the tv now! I remember watching this through my teenage years-made me wanna be a Mountie! just wish I lived in Canada!

  • Great show not like the kack they put on tv now! I remember watching this through my teenage years! Wanted to be a Mountie so bad!

  • I wish they would re-run this in America. They had it on a few years ago; but then they took it off; and we haven't seen it since.

    He is sooooooo handsome.

  • Even the minor cast members made for great chemistry of this show. I loved it.

  • I do so love the program!

  • I just loved this show so much. Damn cute dog.

  • 90s ftw! when was 2-5 i think i had a huge crush on him... and wanted his wolf ^^

  • what year was this on a saturday afternoon?

  • this should be canada national anthem :)

  • Seasons 3 and 4? There were only 3 seasons to my knowledge.

  • i used to watch this when i was little and was madly in love with Fraser! hahaha

  • i was in love with fraser as a kid..and i love the theme song...this is the same paul haggis that wrote Crash...all the real talent is always Canadian..Im proud!

  • Ahh dude i remember watching this after simpsons back in the day!!!

Epic show loved his dog!! as i got older, The more i enjoyed this show, it's a goodun!

  • @AD1255 oh yeah on BBC2. With no adverts in the middle, sure i remember.

  • @DAN13LS70NE

Yeah I remember it on that too. I never understood it when I was younger but loved the wolf

  • I used to love this as a kid, and I still do. Other shows I like are Quantum leap, sliders and that late 90's early 00's show about those people who were born like kids and had healing powers and had to kill brain eating slugs. Can anyone tell me what that program is called?

  • @meatisdeliciouse wasn't that animorphs?

  • thank you kindly.lol

  • Najlepszy serial lat 90'

    "Chicago" is the best

  • I had a crush on Paul when I was 12 years old :D

    I'm 24 now, and I still like him :)

You have to admit that he is adorable.

"Due south" is great and this song is so relaxing...

  • Best dog on TV ever

  • i know everyone asks this on youtube, but which artist did the music? :)

  • @Marnerbanana It's the duesouth theme

by Jay Semko of the Northern Pikes.

  • I loved this show!

  • He is so perfectly amazingly gorgeous. And such a sweet, caring, gentleman.. =) I think I'm in love with Constable Benton Fraser. =)

    Haha.

I still can't believe they cancelled this show. It was great, possibly the best show to ever exist. No.. DEFINITELY the greatest show to ever exist! <3 I miiss it! And yes, I'm still hoping they'll randomly make a movie.... or better yet, begin making the series again. lol

  • Best show ever!

  • He is so perfectly amazingly gorgeous. And such a sweet, caring, gentleman.. =) I think I'm in love with Constable Benton Fraser. =)

    Haha.

  • @smalltownskgirl lol my sister was to... we were big fans of the show. Wish I could back in time to when this first aired on T.V

  • Another humorous angle of the show was that his sidekick, a wolf named Diefenbaker, though deaf, could read lips.

  • The wolf's name was Diefenbaker. Loved this show. Wish they'd made more!

  • I watched every episode:)

    It was my favourite too;)))

So idyllic time in my life that time....

    Little nostalgia... ;)

  • I watched every episode:)

    It was my favourite too;)))

So idyllic time in my life that time....

    Little nostalgia... ;)

  • The wolf's name was Diefenbaker if I remember rightly.

  • Do you also think that 90s TV shows are timeless and special?

  • Does anyone remember the name of the wolf?

  • Diefenbaker

  • think it was called Diefenbaker

  • Diefenbaker

  • Deifenbaker

  • Diefenbaker! I just bought all 3 seasons on DVD in a boxed set for 20 bucks... sweet deal!

  • I do. Diefenbaker was the name of the wolf. He was played by three seperate Siberian Huskies. Newman in the Pilot episode, Lincoln in seasons 1-2, and Draco in season 3-4, I like Draco the most. I think he looks the best in the role. Newman's location is unknown from what I know but Lincoln is retired living with the series creator Paul Edward Haggis and Draco has appeared in the series Twitch City starring Due South actor Callum Keith Rennie. Nice for another American to be interested like me.

  • His name is Deafenbaker

  • The wolf's name is Diefenbaker. Named after the former prime minister of Canada, John Deifenbaker.

But, Benny usually called him Dief.

  • Diefenbacker. He was deaf, too.

  • Oh so handsome and an utter gentleman. I used to be in love with the Constable, still I guess, a little bit :)

  • Comment removed

  • Would you belive it was my favourite series too...

  • I love Due South <3 Fraser is HILARIOUS ! <33 And Dief is cute :3

  • ahah i want to see it too u_________u

  • the wolf is so cute!! xD!!

  • Now there's a country that knows what to export!

  • Neither of them Fraser's love interest was Victoria(Melina Kanakaredes),in later episodes.Victorias Secret.

  • who became Fraser's love interest, Francesca or Elaine? (I've just started watching Season 1)

  • Classic!

He was like Superman only he was just a Mountie with a cool wolf!! lol

    Loved it!

  • j'en ai regardé des épisodes jusqu'à 4 am tout à l'heure :P j'ai aimé

  • dieffenbaker :)

  • paul gross is HOT

  • tres bonne emission

  • i would watch this show when i was a young kid, i used to love it. tv on nowa days is crap. shows like this and other great shows in the 90's where 10x better than the trash on nowa days.

  • i agree, i also used to watch it when i was a kid

  • me too, i love it. I don't have a tv anymore..theres no point, nothing on.

  • lol...:)

  • acually they brought back the show due south

  • best due south

  • best due south song

  • haha great show , i always thought that main guy was the wwf wrestler the mountie wen i was little

  • I grew to love this show a few years ago when I was stuck spending the winter in Irkutsk (Siberia). For some reason, they air this show on TV all the time over there. Maybe it reminds them of home?

  • Ha i watched this as a child as well i only just thought to watch it again it was always the opening music that appealed to me it makes me feel happy again. I wish to be a kid again.

  • Im enjoying this now having a little marathon an excelllent show.. We need more shows like this on tv...

  • wow, I loved this show when I was a child! it's incredible that through all this years I managed to remember dog's name : Diefenbaker :D

  • I used to watch this when i was only a wee child ^_^ with my brother

  • ah me too! was seriously good times!

  • love this show, and absolutly love anything to do with mounties

  • Oh yeah, nothing like a bit of delay and reverb on a some guitar notes

  • Loved this show. Wow!

  • nice music. U2`s All I want is you reminds me this tv show and it`s opening.

  • TV needs to show some damn repeats, they repeat everything else. Godamnit.

    Good show =D

  • this show is the best!! i sow luv it ;D

  • Complete series 16 bucks on Amazon right now!

  • Classic programme with a Classic dog.

  • They changed Diefenbaker's look from the pilot onwards, he looked less white and really looked like a wolf lol. And only true Americans who watch this show would know what his name referred to.

  • Quoted from Wikipedia: John George Diefenbaker (18 September 1895 16 August 1979) was the thirteenth Prime Minister of Canada, serving from 21 June 1957 to 22 April 1963.

  • The chose that name also because dog's names are usually responded to by the dog best if they are two syllables but being that Diefenbaker is deaf it didn't matter how many syllables were in the name.

  • there were as I recall three Diefs...

  • Paul Gross' son goes to ma school

  • due south was awesome, I really miss it!!

  • i wanna be a mountie

  • Words cannot express how much I loved this show. When I first saw reruns on TNT years and years ago, I fell in love with the show and could not get enough. Even hearing this theme, tonight as I did for the first time in years, it really moved me. :)

  • I grew up with the show. Funny how David Marciano as 'Ray Vecchio' was such a cool cop and now as 'Steve Billings' in The Shield his character is the most assholish character ever, although he did suprise me in this season (solving crimes better than Dutch when he wants) shows how great an actor he is.

    The audio preview is jokes.

  • Paul Gross is HOT!

  • This has got to be my favourite show of all time- even the opening titles are inspiring! It has everything: drama, humour, fast car chases- even a wolf! Absolutely top class!

  • I've loved the theme, it gives you the sense of longing and space:)

  • oh the theme gives me goosebumps it's that cool =D

  • great programme.

    miss it heaps

  • *Sigh*....I'd love to get me a Mountie! Lovely accent...polite..uniform..perfect!

  • I seriously think that the second guy to play Ray sucked. I don't like him. Now Fraser, on the other hand, I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What's not to like?

He was great ^^ Not to mention hot, lol.

And his and Fraser's relationship was really funny.

  • Really, not enough shows have been made based on US-Canadian culture shock! Loved it.

  • Hm I think David Marciano ist the best. Not this guy:(((((

  • I loved this show when they showed it in England.

  • Please anyone, give us a german version of this great artwork!!!

  • i sill watch this on TV when i was 7 i would watch this is my favorite show

  • Preferred the original by Northern Pikes

  • man i miss this program

  • How come Paul Haggis's other series "Walker Texas Ranger", which I also like did more seasons than Due South, it just boggles the mind just because it captured Americas attention better doesn't mean he had to stop Due South?

  • Meh, I like the old one.

  • It was my fav show when I was 9 and I was so 'in love' with Paul Gross, and now I'm 21 and I still like him! :D

  • lol im 21 and used to love watching back when i was around nine too, ah nostalgia. .

  • I can't decide if I like this tune or the original, they're both awesome.

  • I prefer this one. It's got more pep. I have the extended version. jackbristow2 at yahoo

  • Comedy, Action, Canadians... what more can you wish for? ^.^ this was the greatest series ever.

  • I own all THREE seasons (in the UK packaged season 3 in one, although they did broadcast it 12 eps then waited 6 months to air the rest.) Also UK dvd is the only one that has shitload of extras, including interview with paul gross before and after real ghostbusters on mashed.

  • I own all four seasons YEAH it is my favorite show

  • So maybe you can tell me how I can own all four seasons myself?

  • Go to HMV or Best buy places like that thats were I got mine

  • Ok. Thanks!

  • God I miss this programme I want another series to come out

  • Does anybody know where I can find Due South full eps online or the dvd's?

  • What episode is at 25 seconds? That's a cool clip, riding in the convertible like that!!

  • its -I could'a beena defendant- I think i could be wrong

  • or could be Bounty Hunter

  • I think the clip at 0:25 is from "Bounty Hunter" (the one with the single mother and her two kids). Fraser's in the convertible she drives.

  • this is the best music ever! truly beautiful

  • Does any one know who did this song please?

  • It's the duesouth theme by Jay Semko of the Northern Pikes.

  • cool, thanks!

  • such a GREAT SHOW GOTTA start showing reruns

  • You can get this show on DVD now so you watch it anytime you like.

  • god i loved this show, still do in fact

  • wow, I'm from England, and this show has not been aired in years!! i loved it as a kid!! brings back memories!

  • They were showing it on ITV3 a few months ago. in in the afternoon and repeated again about 5 in the evening. They`ve stopped showing th repeats now... but they`ll proabably start showing them again on ITV3 (hopefully).
