They were the 2010 model, seriously, DO NOT BUY THESE BOOTS, there is a serious design flaw as I have already said, the hinge mechanism lets your toe bend upwards and its because of this that I broke my achilles tendon, no motocross boot should allow this movement. Look at Gaerne SG12's instead they have a mechanism that stops this from happening. As far as I am aware Sidi have not addressed this issue judging from the arrogant reply I got from them when informing them of my injury.
I loved mine until I broke my achilles tendon wearing them.
I my opinion there is a major design flaw with these boots.
Just grab the toe and push it upwards and see how far it will go, there is no locking mechanism to stop these boots from flexing all the way.
I wont be riding off road for 1 year now and I blame these boots and their design. All off road boots need a mechanism for restricting how far up and down your toe can go, these do not have that. yes they are comfortable........
@lucatkinson Thanks for writing, so far I have not had any trouble with that and will look into it. I stretch and have pretty good upward range of my ankle. I will check it out and see if the range of the boot is greater than the range of my ankle.
@lucatkinson this seriously worries me and now am not to keen on buying these boots.. what year model were they? maybe the newest ones 2010 have put a locking mechanism or maybe the upcoming 2011 will? Anyone know?
i broke my ankle earlier this year and it doesn't like to move into dorsiflexion too far ( ie towards the knee) as its stiff. Although i love the fact that the sidi crossfire has a hinged system to allow great mobility im worried thats going to be disadvantagious for me as its going to hurt if i land on the forefoot...
Hey man, really nice and informative video. Thanks for the attention to detail, I'm going to save up and get these as soon as i can. Ride on! What offroad bikes do you have?
Very informative - thanks! Getting these for my son now - replacing Alpinestar Tech 10s (also a great boot but not compared to the flexability of these!) These Sidis are amazing boots- and love the fact they will be easy to resole - the Tech 10s were a major fail when being resoled....such a waste!!
hey man great video!! i been hearing that these boots fit a little tight and that i should buy a size higher! Is that correct? Im a size 13 and my foot is a little fat! (wide)
Thanks for showing how much those flex, nobody else is showing that. I smashed my foot bones into a bunch of pieces last year because I left my Tech 3's in the closet at home and went for a rip in my skate shoes. Yea i deserved it for not wearing boots, but the tech 3's are like clunky ski boots, lots of people swear by them but I can't stand them, looks like these Sidi's are the way to go. Thanks again for the good vid.
Some people cringe at the $400+ price tag. But what is a broken ankle, foot, shin going to cost you? Not to mention it will always hurt from time to time... If a seatbelt broke in your car and the replacement was $800 you would replace it ,
I say yes, I have been wearing them while riding my street bike. I just loosen up the straps a bit to give more room. So far so good, but its winter here and I haven't been able to ride as often due to icy roads.

I did go a size larger than what felt right, and it was better. But I have really wide feet... Best bet, go try them on at a store.
