  • Lovely post.

  • @cc1304 Thank you my friend, happy that you like it.

  • We did this when I was little in the Berkshires in Massachusetts.

  • @cc1304 Glad to hear that. It's seldom done in schools now a days, and kids don't know what fun they are missing.Thank you for sharing with us. :)

  • They do this at Waldorf schools all over the world! I did the dance when I went to the school in 1st and 2nd grade. Now, i want to be a waldorf teacher! and experience the joy of such life!

  • @theartsychica593 I have not heard of Waldorf schools, but wanting to be a teacher is an excellent idea, and a worthy goal.Hope you achieve it.Thanks for stopping by my friend... Later :)

  • @theartsychica593

I am from Brasil , I'd like to have a May Pole song to play in a wedding. Can you send me by email this song or tell me where I can find?

    Thanks Tanya

  • i am a maypole dancer

  • @alexandria1474 Good for you... :)

  • We used to do this in school when I was a little kid!

  • @Daybreak1223 Glad that you were able to experience it,and hope that you had fun doing the dance.Too many children never get to.Drop by anytime.. :)

  • I wish we did this in school!

  • You would have had fun.I have found that many private schools still do it,and some public elementary ones at least where I live.Have a good day.

  • I was traditional to do the Spring Maypole dance in spring at elementary schools in the USA in the 1950's and early 1960's-after that, John F. Kennedy ushered in mandatory physical education, and athletic exhibitions(to copy the Russians) were held instead---first wiping out of Western Culture

  • What you wrote is very interesting.I think that physical education is very important for our children, but it seems to have gone by the wayside in our schools lately.I think that both can exist in our schools if the adminstrators would try a little harded.Thank you.

  • I remember we did the Maypole to the "Maypole Dance" in elementary school in the 1960s. Oh what a memory to hear this song again!!!! Thank you.
