Harrison Barnes hasn't really been all that flashy this year, but he's been the player everyone expected him to be. He's now a lock for 15-20 a game, along with 5 boards and 2-5 assists. That's all UNC can really ask of him, considering how loaded they are this year. If Barnes played on Wake or something, he'd be dropping 30 a game. But, then again, I'm sure he cares more about winning than scoring.

this guy eludes smooth, everytime i watch his highlights he right away impresses me with his all around skilled game..hes a 6'8 SF with great size, he can handle the rock, shoot mid-range, has outside shooting potential, a bright kid and a great basketball feel and IQ...he has the chance to be a special player in the league when the time is right

@ry27sm Barnes sucks. This guy couldn't score with a defender on him. Every point he scores is a jumpshot. I've never seen him beat a guy off the dribble or even make a nice move to get a shot. I watch every UNC game hoping that he does something that leads me to believe he was hyped up for a reason but I have yet to see it. Face-guard him and I doubt he scores more than 10.

Any Barnes highlights I've seen where he doesn't happen to catch and shoot or make a wide open dunk are based on him using the spin move, which equates to him being slow and lacking lateral quickness.
@DoctorJ0023 he can shoot of the dribble, plays solid defense and is clutch but his dribble creation game and overall athleticism does need work. those will be vital to his success in the league. he does not shift his weight well off the dribble nor has shown any counter or combo moves. franchise players carry teams on their backs offensively and lead defensively.. barnes is not there yet. he should come back to carolina but with the lockout coming it would be wise to come out early.

He will be able to get his shot off at the next level but there is absolutely no reason he should be being compared to Kobe and should have been a preseason All-American and the most hyped freshman ever. @DoctorJ0023 true. demar derozan and xavier henry were both compared to kobe in high school and neither is anything like kobe skill wise talent wise athletically or intangibly. blake griffin is not shawn kemp as compared. kemp was more skilled than griffin and was more a versatile athlete than griffin is. i scout regionally in northern california and when i see national scouts make such blatent inaccurate evaluations it is upsetting that these individuals are considered experts in their fields.

Kemp is still the best comparison to Griffin if you had to look for one, but Griffin is a much better passer and every bit as good at every other aspect of offense. Griffin's scoring, rebounding and assist numbers this year are better than any season of Kemp's career.
@hallmanjon griffin. post skills and footwork? his footwork has been sloppy at times and needs work(should get better). shooting? no kemps form was smoother and consistent. ball handling? no not yet. see old kemp footage. griffin is bouncy like kemp was. kemp played out of high school after his subpar academic standing at UK and JC and entered a league where he was lower on the totem pole due to age and in a league with superior big men to today and stronger play and more contact.

Yes north Carolina always does well against Clemson. But Clemson was pretty much playing an away game yesterday and gave north Carolina all they had. Any Barnes highlights I've seen where he doesn't happen to catch and shoot or make a wide open dunk are based on him using the spin move, which equates to him being slow and lacking lateral quickness.

@DoctorJ0023 he can shoot of the dribble, plays solid defense and is clutch but his dribble creation game and overall athleticism does need work. those will be vital to his success in the league. he does not shift his weight well off the dribble nor has shown any counter or combo moves. franchise players carry teams on their backs offensively and lead defensively.. barnes is not there yet. he should come back to carolina but with the lockout coming it would be wise to come out early.

He will be able to get his shot off at the next level but there is absolutely no reason he should be being compared to Kobe and should have been a preseason All-American and the most hyped freshman ever. Prior to the season, I would have picked any # of these freshman over him, and I still would. I'd say his athleticism is even below average and he certainly does not have handles.

Kemp is still the best comparison to Griffin if you had to look for one, but Griffin is a much better passer and every bit as good at every other aspect of offense. Griffin's scoring, rebounding and assist numbers this year are better than any season of Kemp's career.

It was a young team that didn't had a leader and they had a bad season. Roy could have done a better job but he learned from the season and moved on and look where we are now. @arshort2 NC sucks...they will lose I know it to some team like Butler that plays like a team and plays there hearts out. Duke in my opinion is the best chance in the ACC to win it all. NC got totally creamed by Florida state.

@tron81 Carolina is cheated against by the refs more than any other team in the country and you and everybody else knows it. Hell, other teams' fans chuckle about it. For another team's fans to complain about "UNC refs" is a little like Adolf Hitler's heretofore unknown grandson going public with a book complaining about "what those damn Jews did to my dear, sweet Grandpa".

@DuhIdiot1 the idea that Carolina is cheated against by the refs is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Everyone knows the ACC refs are incredibly biased in favor of UNC and Duke. Look at the free-throw disparity statistics.
