Also the U.S has its share of skiing resorts and national parks. Any time a union is involved, they negotiate higher and higher wages for unskilled workers, many of them high school dropouts working on assembly lines and making more money than what they are worth, then they have to pay retirees insane pensions, which causes companies to drive up the prices of their products and services to offset the costs of labor. This makes it impossible for those companies to compete with offshore companies because of the need for higher prices. THIS IS WHY THEY LEAVE.

Many of the GM and Packard plants, steel industry, etc. The unions force the companies to pay unskilled factory workers $35/hr to work an assembly line, PLUS pensions. When the company goes bankrupt, the union would rather see the workers lose their jobs than take a pay cut, so they are forced to leave to escape it.
Deregulation that he is talking about is WHAT made our transportation system the most sophisticated system in the world.. No country outside the U.S has such precise and sophisticated transportation. Any time a union is involved, they negotiate higher and higher wages for unskilled workers, many of them high school dropouts working on assembly lines and making more money than what they are worth, then they have to pay retirees insane pensions, which causes companies to drive up the prices of their products and services to offset the costs of labor. This makes it impossible for those companies to compete with offshore companies because of the need for higher prices. THIS IS WHY THEY LEAVE.

Many of the GM and Packard plants, steel industry, etc. The unions force the companies to pay unskilled factory workers $35/hr to work an assembly line, PLUS pensions. When the company goes bankrupt, the union would rather see the workers lose their jobs than take a pay cut, so they are forced to leave to escape it.

I applaud the intent of most of those guys ("we have to dig ourselves out of this nightmare"), but the recommended actions... Thats a completely different matter.
