So funny how I can have a goiter with nodules and my Dr does not think my thryoid is underactive? TWO ways to have a under active thyroid.. why do Dr keep thinking of just the ONE TSH???? UGH bastards
@RaymondLikesMen Considering that Calcitonin inhibits osteoclasts, which are involved in breaking down bone cells to increase blood Ca+2 levels, it is irrelevant to thyroid complications. Also T1 and T2 or monoiodotyrosine and di-iodotyrosine are involved at the colloid level of synthesis of T4 and T3 and does not affect the release of T4 or T3 into the blood stream, mentioning so would be superfluous. What they should have mentioned is how iodine deficiency will also affect hyperthyroidism.
I became hypothyroid because of the soy in my diet, not the fluoride. It can take about 25-40 years of fluoride use before anything occurs, but less than a year if you begin taking excess amounts of soy. Here I was trying to become healthier, and now I'm a 21 year old girl, weighing 30 pounds more than I should with an underactive thyroid...
for every one male and females who are suffering from thyroid just consult a good doctor and and go for routine exercises u ll be cured 100% from all diseases its my guarantee but u should not do lazyness for ladies aerobics the best exercise age no bar and no harm from aerobics instead of paying a lots of bucks to doctors get little knowledge about u r problem whatever u hav and start exercising .
Can someone help me? I suffer from palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis and I went to talk to a doctor about by condition, she told me I had to go see a dermatologist and get my thyroid gland check out which might be the case of my excessive sweating. Please get back at me. Thanks.
FLUORIDE IS WHAT DAMAGES YOU IMMUNE SYSTEM AND Manages YOUR THYROID IT ALSO BLOCKS IODINE UPTAKE ......... GET THE FLUORIDE OUT OF YOUR WATER just google The Effects Of Fluoride On
Fluoride is the maincause of a thyroid problem. Behind that is the parathyroid which produces vitamin D for your body and you need that to absorb calcium. So, what happens if the thyroid is not functioning well? Then the parathyroid isn’t functioning well and yourbones become brittle and less dense because they don’t absorb calcium and that’s why women develop osteoporosis.
THYROID DISEASE IS CAUSED BY FLUORIDE, FLUORIDE IS IN OUR TOOTH PASTE AND OUR WATER SUPPLY, THE GOVERNMENT PUT FLUORIDE IN OUR WATER AND PRETENDS IT KILLS CAVITY BUT STUDIES SHOWED THAT IT DOESNT, AND THAT IT CAUSES THYROID IN THE LONG RUN THATS Y 59 MILLION AMERICANS HAVE THYROID
@926531 Omg....I thought it just calcified your pineal gland and caused lesions in your blood vessels! Fluoride is freaking poison! I'm getting fluoride free tooth paste asap!
I just found out I have an under active thyroid, I go back to the doctor next week to get another ultrasound & uptake (swallow a pill and another scan) The thing is that I have none of these symptoms and I've been getting in shape...kicker is that I haven't been to the doctor in prolly 12 years...who knows how long it's been like this...Last few times blood pressure has been very high, took it again at the doctors office and it's 120/79...wtf??? Last week it's been 170-200+ So..idk..
Synthroid - side effects are "changes in appetite" or "increased appetite." Explains the 40 lb weight gain I have had since being on it. Doctors will only say the weight gain is because of slow thyroid. Get ready for weight gain if you are put on thyroid meds and all the doctors to tell you you're nuts when you come with complaints of headaches, rapid heart beat, weight gain, foggy thinking, etc.
I was diagnosed wit Hashimoto's last July. I actually developed a goiter but only on my left side. I went thru a long process of test, ultrasounds, biopsy first because cancer needed to be ruled out. I had been suffering wit ALL symptom for 2 yrs, developed during pregnancy for me. August will make a yr dat i've been taking Synthroid, and some days i still forget to take my meds. Its such a hassle. But im sure wit time i'll get it. Oh and my goiter is still there.
I'm only 16 years old and I have this problem.. this week I was diagnosed with Hoshimoto's disease, I experienced almost every symptom in the chart. now I am taking medication and 3 other pills.. sythroid( for the thyroid), Yaz(birth control, to regulate cycles) and Acid Reflux pill. It's so bad, I hate it!!!!
I have no insurance and and under active thyroid it sucks! I am sooo tired and depressed and have gained a crap load of weight even though I do not eat to support this kind of weight. I want help for it. Now I have pain in my throat it feels like something is in it all the time and it hurts to turn my neck I pray I don't get the last thing on this video!! That would totally freak me out!
@Yarmox you wouldnt be laughing if you had to live with this disease... how ridiculous that you would seriously comment on a medical video with responses from people who live with this illness... i question your upbringing child
@pooh2b I am really sorry to hear about this. You should definitely seek help. A common treatment for the condition is thyroxine, but ensure that you receive a thorough examination and certify whether the issue is in the pituitary or the thyroid gland - any treatment will be based on the root of the problem.
you have some great stuff here

Presouz - you could have hyperthyroidism instead of an underactive thyroid. Both can cause a goiter.

T2, T1 and Calcitonin are not mentioned, unsurprisingly.
