  • Does that have a visible beam at night?

  • @ccarazay It did before it broke.

  • ok i was wondering if u could help me i just got a cheap 200 mw laser from china and i turned up the pot all the way and the diode burned out prolly cuz its not really a 200 mw diode so i was fine with that i would just get a new diode but i cant seem to find any online can u help me or guide me in the right direction on to where i can get a power fully laser diode and i only want a diode no a kit

  • @1800Supreme Pot modding... the worst choice one can ever make with little knowledge on the exact laser. You can get a 250mW red laser diode from the LPC-815 sled, but you have to extract it. Or, you can get the same diode pre extracted. One place is hightechdealz. com

  • @juniortore1 Lol. Cycling! As if on a bike. For example, sam cycled around the world. Do you not get it? I was speaking about your legs. Lol

  • @MrCarollz Ahhhhhhhhh, got a little concerned there LMAO! Yes, I do a lot of bicycling and walking. Especially within the last week, walked about 20 miles this week going over friends. And in the summer, I do 6 mile bike rides to parks on hilly dirt roads.

  • @juniortore1 Do you actually? I actually do but I've broken a joint in my foot and I'm out of cycling for at least another week. It's killing me. What type of cycling do you do(if you do actually cycle)? Don't worry I'm not gay. I am planning to build a 100mw+ laser. I have ordered the parts and I'm waiting for them to arrive. I just feel a bit scared though that I am going to accidentally blind myself with the thing. Have you ever nearly blinded yourself? Do you have laser goggles or something?

  • @MrCarollz Oh, I thought by cycle you meant duty cycle on the laser. Yes, I have goggles for my 1W blue laser. and they work for greens and violets. I need ones for my red laser badly though. What exactly do you mean by "cycling"

  • @juniortore1 do you cycle?

  • @MrCarollz I sure do, I finally made a new 250mW red laser, although, it awaits a heatsink. The one I am making can handle about 2 minutes on

  • Nice legs. Lol

  • @MrCarollz Uhhhhh, thanks?

  • Hey, I caught that little comment, "Please don't get in my eye", hahahaha. Nice build, she's pretty and powerful... Do be careful with reflections like that though - reflecting surfaces are NOT your friend with high power lasers and goggles are cheap enough. Even the reflection off those balloons and staring at the dot too closely on bright (even matte) surfaces can do you a good one.

BTW I think you're driving those 5.6mm red diodes a bit hard... I'd love to know where you're getting em. :-)

  • @NightRunner417 Damn Youtube and their short-ass character limits. Just wanted to add, nice video! :-)

  • @NightRunner417 short ass character limts? What do you mean?

    Thanks

  • @juniortore1 I just mean that I often have more to say than the piddly 400 and whatever letter limit to comments allows. I ran out of characters before I could add that I liked your video, so I had to make two comments out of it.

  • @NightRunner417 ahhhh, ay, I understand. I dont normally need to go past it, but when I do, that pisses me off

  • Wow! The casing for that diode laser (and batteries, etc.) is huge compared to the little keychain laser-pointers that I have. ~ If you replaced the burned out red laser L.E.D. with a working-but-junked blue laser diode from a blue-ray player/burner, would it work? ~ Nice visuals, near the start, of the laser in use in the dark, plus the tape-cutting and balloon poppings were good. :)

  • @maintoc Yep, it has a nice host. And this is not an LED, this is a laser diode, or LD

And it depends on the burner speed, I am planning to get a LPC-815 sled which has a 300-400mW red laser.

The blue/ violet laser will be another project

  • @juniortore1 Um ... it's a diode that emits light (albeit laser light), so technically it's still an L.E.D. In fact, my electronics teacher told me that, sometimes, he had to intentionally scratch up an L.E.D. that would unintentionally "lase." But I do know that laser diodes are intentionally constructed differently.

  • @maintoc interesting

  • that laser looks cool, well don.

  • What no credit for me on the host? xD Nice video, too bad it had to die...Just think the LOC will burn faster though =D You did have a dirty lens though, I could tell easily at the beginning seeing the big circle of many smaller circles on your wall =) Hope to see more in the future!

  • @PhxSt0rmz No credit for the host yet, not in a video that involves my laser dieing :D

I will credit you in the one when I get my LOC and nothing dies and all is happy

No, I cleaned it, it was perfectly clean. those were just all of the pits and s*** in it, but, I kinda fixed it a tad right before it died :(

  • i'm sorry for your loss... xD Nice :) I will buy some soon too, but i'm just playing with HV and doing some programming so it will take some time before i remember it... just one q.. how fast does it heat up, or is that ok for long run with that small cooling?

  • @filipkof

Well, it matters what you drive your diode at, how big your heatsink is inside the host and what king of lens you use. Mine here, hardly heated up at all, but I would still obey the 60/60 rule (60 seconds on, 60 seconds off)
