what people dont understand about graphics is gt5 could of made the same look as forza 3 if they wanted it 2. It actually has nothing to do with graphics its all about color correction and contrast layers to make the game look better but it also makes the game look unrealistic for ex. look at both the videos which one looks like you would see on tv. obviously gt5 im not saying one has better graphics im saying gt5 took the realistic look while forza 3 took graphics trick.

I have to say, though a major GT fan i got very disappointed when i found out that the 800 of the so called 1000 cars were 100% ports from the GT4 version. Now playing the game with a premium car in a PS3 only stage (city stages especially) this truly feels exceptional by any standards and easily trashes over Forza 3. However i must say that i have more fun playing Forza 3 overall. It is not a simulation by any means but it is just pure fun.

every one please remember Forza 3 was out over a year ago and only took 2 years to make.

GT5 is newer and has taken nearly 6 years to make so its oblivious GT5 will be better in certain places.

Gt5 has only about 20% of premium cars that's about just over 200 and they reused basically all cars from GT4 and tracks so I don't see how it took 6 years to make :|

@JCRocky5 well how about this, gt5 is a far higher resolution then forza 3, gt5 has a track editor, gt5 has 3d, gt5 has 16 cars on track. it's also a fact that 200 cars is a SHITLOAD, that's a fricken lot, before you've driven them all, you'll have over 100 hours into the game. the other 800 are just extra's to me. the ammount of detail in each premium car is astonishing, it's almost photo realistic, and the standard cars still look ok. if you're not satisfied with the content, you're spoiled

You don't really? Licensing is one isso, jusue they had. It isn't easy to get cars as the makers usually don't want theirs damaged. Alst over two hundred doesn't mean a thing with the amount of detail they went to put into the premium. Hi-res textures, polygon count, ect, more than Forza has (video is proof). Have to make and detail tracks, which aren't close to reused. And last but not least, trying to program the god damn weather, especially rain. Six years is plausible.

@JCRocky5 Remember that Polyphony was working on GTPSP while GT5 while GT5 prologue while working on the Citroen GT, working with Red bull for the X1. and Kazunori who has the final say in things left numerous times to race to get more racing experience for GT5. working on the physics engine and working on Premium cars which took months per car. Weather system, Track creator, recreated each track with new bumps. I can go on but long story short GT5 is more complex than Forza.

@danoconnell427 People who have raced in the 'ring in real life then in GT, say GT5 is more realistic than Forza 3. So, they know about it than you do. Plus GT5 was made by a race car driver. The Nurburgring in Forza is too wide and has no realistic surface, its more like a game than a simulator. Gran Turismo on the other hand has all the tracks redone to add new surfaces so when you race on the track it actually feels like your there, Forza doesn't have that.

please remember that forza 3 was originally a copy of forza 2 and then they added some cars. GT5 was produced from nothing to that game.

and please also remember, you can trust GT5 that driving is realistic and the places to drive look like in the game, as the developers don't just sit aound and programmed the game, because they sat in real cars on real tracks.

The driving difference with smae conditions nearly the same. Your argumentation would be even better for GT5, because feeling like driving on ice is on many tracks with many cars the reality. There's no game where you feel the ground waves as realistic as in GT 5. In GT 5 you can set your car and driving options with much more freedom, e.g. ABS, stability control...THIS makes the difference in driving between these 2 games, as their realism is on nearly the same level.

@NeoGeo46 lol you're a funny retard, attention to detail you say? ok, well polphony digital made a game with over 1000 cars, 200 of which look far better then what forza has to offer, then the game also supports 1080p (though not native), 3d, a track editor and race kinds differing from carting to nascar. now THAT is attention to detail. all of which is done greatly. yes the standard cars don't look as good, doesn't mean the other 200 look bad, you just got pwnd.

@gtafan110010 there are not 1000+ different types of cars in GT5 there hundreds of different textured versions of each car resulting in 1000+ cars.

Just the same as GT4, I would class this as false advertise but it's not as it's the user that misinterprets the meaning.
