@jma111000 mesa is so much better and versatile. with marshall's all you get is the same stupid crunchy mid tone unless you use different settings. peavey is shitty. way too trebly and too much mids for me.... rivera is very very very badass. mesa is amazing, so are the high quality randalls.
@emoboi311 peavey is the farthest thing from shitty any of the 5150s or 6505s are incredible but there for METAL thats it when your in drop tuning the treble and mids work with you not against you but if you in standard tuning sure it might be a little trebly but hey too bad they dont put treble adjustment in them , oh ya right they do
@lnicholson666 peaveys suck ass. drop tunings are fun but when you just play boring black metal. it's completely boring and takes as much as talent as lil wayne has
His pickhand technique is mind blowing!! His wrist never moves, it's all in his arm, but his speed is second to none. I would kill to have that kind of control.
Obviously all his skill and sound comes from his Marshalls and not, say, years of practice and experience and all that. Totally just the tools he uses and not how he uses them.
Uh-huh. Go buy a Marshall, kiddies. You'll sound just like Zakk Wylde. Uh-huh.
Fuck, I wish I could pull those pinch harmonics out of the guitar like Zakk does! And his vibrato is so wide and tight, meaning it stays in key the whole time, not easy to do. One of the best ever!
Zak is a speed and tone genius just like one of his heros the late great gary moore slash is not as accurate finger wise zak is way faster and the little hendriks bit he did shows you hes also a master mimic but hey i love them both but it would be silly to compare the two apart from saying the both play gibsons.
and see kiddies he wasnt useing EMGs.....my point...you dont have to have EMGs to sound like Zakk..............you just have to play like him lmfao.....n good luck with that !!!!
They always talk about Slash's "Feel". I'm sorry, but this guy has tons & tons of emotion. He plays beautifully clean & crushing with the gain up. No matter how loud he plays, it's never harsh. I can listen to him forever. He puts Slash to shame, in my opinion of course.
Looks like he does most of his speed picking from the elbow which is interesting. I would think he would pick more from the wrist since it's more efficient.
I was going to watch this video as a guide to pedals. Then I heard Zakk telling me he could record an album with a mini Marshall MG half stack and knew not to believe anything that came out of his mouth :D.
And he has the chorus BEFORE the drive pedal... mmm interesting, I've heard people say that's better the other way around (even I have it the other way around...)
Ya Marshall's were really good until they started getting away from having made in the U.K. Now i just assume go with a Peavey or Mesa just because they're made in the U.S.
It's easy. Just hold the pick opposite your elbow and try to lean your body forward as your back faces the fist of your feet. Try to have all the toes separated and focus on the right elbow. It has to point at the left horizon. Follow five steps: Position, Noodles, Booze, Pee and Vaginas. I hope I've helped you somehow.

@jw11432 Hell yeah brother. I made the "It's got Marshall written on it" mistake long ago. The high end stuff is badass, but the lower end MG series is shit. The only exception would be the Dave Mustaine 15W MicroStack. That is a killer little stack, which you could record an album with. I have a little 5w Line 6 and a Squire Strat that I travel with because they sound decent and if it gets stolen or damaged, I am not out anything.
@smacman68 haha...hey, we all learn at some point. I remember there was a time when I thought Line 6 made the best stuff out there *palm to forehead* mind you, this was over 10 years ago ;) now i know better, but thats the point, to learn and seek out the best and become picky about your tone! :P
@smacman68 LOL I made the same mistake 4 months ago. I bought the Marshall MG15FX, went home because I'm excited to test it. The moment I plugged it I was disappointed LOL.
anyways. I like Zakk's pedal board, really simple yet really fuckin metal
The exact same thing here. I bought an Epiphone Les Paul and the MG15. I was so happy. I kept thinking "Fuck yeah, a Les Paul and a Marshall! Now I can rock it out..." 15 minutes after I plugged in, I was going "What the fuck was I thinking?" NOT the same as the real thing. Never again. I saved and got the Marshall Slash AFD100, a 412 cab and a Gibson Les Paul. Now I am blowing it out large time. Save your money and get the good shit. No comparison.
@Abon666 haha exactly. just like you COULD go play a gig with a walmart first act guitar, but should you? :P marshall solid state isnt THAT bad, but any seasoned musician will understand my analogy hehe
@jw11432 Im sure if you find the right sound out of them you could record with him not everyone has their mommys and daddys pay for a fucking expensive ass tube head and shit sometimes you make do with what you can its not about the equipment its about the player if you play like shit its not gonna matter if you have a mesa triple rectifier its still gonna sound shitty
@nicktrivium12 i wouldnt record with it. solid states are only good for practicing with, just my opinion, i dont take them seriously as a good, quality instrument. dude, my parents never bought me anything as far as my music gear. i play through a bugera 6262, its fuckin killer with the right mods. mesa sucks, imo..i never could dial in a good tone i liked on those fuckin things. i agree the player has alot to do with it, but no one can make a shit sandwich taste good, either.
@delantey any tone chaser will tell you a tube preamp and solid state power section doesnt sound right. however, a solid state preamp and tube power section can get you good sounding results if dialed in correctly.
@Macsk8ing i could, but ive already masturbated this evening. any other brilliant remarks? btw, how does one own a shit, referring to your initial response? secondly, how does owning a shit correlate to owning crap gear? your idiocy is compounded whenever you speak..maybe you should sit down for some share time with someone, work out your teenage angst instead of looking like a retard on youtube. food for thought sluggo, wear a helmet whenever you leave your bed.
@jw11432 total BS on your part, that is like saying people do not record with a fende deluxe vm, when they totally do, and they are around the same price, greg coch love's the VM, he uses it for recording, gig's the lot, and he has the option of using a £4000 amp, as does zac, zac could have bought a £2000 practice amp, the same kind of weight, but he choose this one, expensive amp's are not always better, silverface bassmans are cheaper than sf vibro champs, the bassman smokes it by a long shot
Get you a Mesa Roadster with the Mesa 4x12 cab and you'll make the baby marshalls cry XD
