2) .....The bands were Spacemen 3, The Valentines, Pale Saints, Loop, and Lush. I really wanted the Loop so I bidded high on that one and won eventially. The rest I placed $40 bids on and lost them all. ....When I recieved the item it was a cassette "live at the union tavern 89" that some individual personally recorded for themself. They also made a pretty good quality laminated paper artwork inlay for the cover. I image saved the other bands to my H-drive in case I lost. They too were from 89.
1) .....I had "gala" on cassette tape 20 years ago (I still have it actually). The place where I made the purchase is no longer there. It was the best place in town as it was known for it's vast selection of bootlegs. Unfortunately they were busted by the FEDs in 96 or so, and went under. Anyhow, I've since updated to CD about 2 or 3 years back, and cost me $25 for mint condition. ....Some guy on ebay had a boot-assortment of early shoegaze era bands he picked up at a flee-market in Ireland.....
@gibbonduder182 This would have been around 1990. You can tell by Miki's and Emma's beautiful hair. Plus, Steve is still in the band. Maybe even late 1989, but I think it's 1990.
@gibbonduder182 The funny thing is that I wouldn't have much access to cable back then either. I was only a teenager then. I can just tell by the video quality. That's when you know you actually grew up back then. hahaha. But, wasn't music great back then. I mean, there is stuff coming out today that is mind blowing, but there is something special about those days I think.
@Circa7 I wasn' t even born in 1990... I was born in 1991 basically... But there isn't a single day that I miss all the great bands of that era. Lush, Slowdive, Ride, MBV, Chapterhouse... I come close to tears right now actually, hearing to "Thoughtforms"... Anyway, hope we get the time machine sometime before we die...
@PanosDCC I know what you mean. I was 20 in 1990 and I really miss those days. I got to see them live in Sept 1996. It was one of the last shows they ever did, about 1 month before Chris' tragic loss. Their music had a truly special quality. Glad to know that younger people appreciate it.
i want to be miki!!!!!!!! unlikely, but oh well...

That song is called "Thoughtforms" and you can find it on the "Gala" CD (initial full length release).
