  • This guy is a fucking genious!

  • Excellent video. I want one.

  • I think by the time you have to set it up you would have it done already. I think the main advantage is to have a ring compressor that can be locked in place, as shown in this video. That allows a hand up inside the block holding/guiding the conrod whilst you tap on the piston head. Keeping a pulling motion on the conrod as you go will stop the piston bouncing out allowing the rings to become free.

  • You better get a patent before someone else takes it......

  • Silly, question would this work on 4cyl engines also. This would be a cool tool to have. I'm putting this on my X-mas list.

  • @DALE97DSM i believe it would, 4 cylinders have to have head bolts right? Thanks for your interest Bob

  • genius!!

  • 1:43 lol his voice cracked

  • hell ya could make big bucks selling this tool vary useful i wish i has this dude could do a v8 in the matter of mins dude

  • Awesome use of a Fulcrum!!! Very Practical...

  • @wchabotte ah yes,but which class of fulcrum?

  • @unapro3 Class 1.

  • @wchabotte close, it's a class 2 fulcrum. An example of a class one fulcrum is a seesaw, the fulcrum is between the force and the load. A class three is when the force is between the fulcrum and the load, such as tweezers. This invention is a class 2, the load is between the force and the fulcrum like a wheelbarrow.

  • Cool ass car!

  • NICE!

  • very nice wish i had that tool

  • good man!

  • no do it slow after a rebuild (engine)

  • Absolutely brilliant!

    :D

  • Please tell me you patented this - you could make big bucks selling the tool design to companies

  • SOLD!! How do I purchase one?

  • @metalbigman go to ezppistontool@yahoo.com

  • e mail is ezpistontool@yahoo.com misspelling on my part duh!

  • great work that is really cool. Where you located?

  • @dozedrift columbus ohio

  • Sir, you are a legend!

  • Dads had one of them. He bought it off the shelf at a parts store in the mid 80's

  • ZZ Top

  • Didn't I See You Coming Down My Chimney around 25 Dec!!Sorry for shooting at you.lol.Good Job Geyser.Best Thing for You is to Ensure You patent this, then send your design to tool maker m8.

  • Everybody do this by the different ways yo old man...so hold that thought for your self!!!!!!!!!

  • I as a mechanic would go on my knees and kiss your inventive ass, I've had the rod bearing fall off because of hitting it so many times, broken loads of rings, even scored cylinders, I am buying one of those tools now, I have contacted you, with age comes experience and you look like you have lots of experience I thank you and well done with your tool

    P.s I like the beard, very 70s

  • @mushere2k9 IF YOU WANT ONE OF THESE, E-MAIL ezpistontool@yahoo.com THANKS BOB

  • Hum...2nd rod is dry!!!

    Don´t like it :/

  • man, thats a cool tool u got there!

  • Props to you sir. You obviously have done your fair share of work in your life to invite something to improve it.

  • what you need is a giant C-clamp you can simply turn and slowly push the piston in.

  • i would have to bend that bar if i was gonna use that 4 a car motor, still though pretty cool

  • @newpage123 this is for a car motor duh

  • is that a vw engine?

  • Very informative video. I once had a Mercedes Benz 220 engine overhauled at 150k miles. The mechanic changed everything but the piston rings. He said the rings were still good and didn't need to be replaced. It was an expensive job and I would have paid him, but he said "no." Well, twenty five years later the car still does not burn oil. If he had this man's tool, maybe he would have done the rings afterall.

  • i like it and how do I get one. How much does it cost? message me here please. thank you.

  • @haydenpontdulac e mail ezpistontool@yahoo for further info. thanks ob

  • nice. very clever. this guy could make a fortune 'till china steals his idea puts it into mass production and sells it dirt cheap. china sucks

  • ezpistontool@yahoo is the ddress you need fot tool Thanks Bob

  • I can't get it to email. The address doesnt seem to be right. What should i do?

  • "THE DEVIL KNOWS MORE FROM BEING OLD THAN FROM BEING A DEVIL" That man knows what hi is doing from experience so I'll stick with his way of doing it and his cool invention... make more videos sir so for us that doit ourselfs alone at time can be more easy ,thanks for this video and keep up the good work~(^_O)~

  • great idea! More importantly...this guy freakin rules!

  • Cool, tool. It's like the one to compress valve springs

  • Nice!

  • that's Santa's slay motor

  • this tool is a perfect way to snap a ring!

your supposed to pay attention to the rings as ur slowly hitting them down into the cylinder.

i prefer having a buddy to guide the rods while i tap em in with a hammer and compressor..

  • if you compress the rings properly, there is absotutely no problem. if you tap on the piston and the ring jumps out from underneath the ring comprossor thats when you break rings!!!!

  • The whole point of the tool, is to stop beating on the piston and doing it alone

  • is that a 4 cylinder block?

  • nope V-8 cut in half

  • these tool are for sale e-mail me at ezpistontool at yahoo for details. Thank you Bob

  • Very nice, where can i get one?

  • e-mail ezpistontool@yahoo for details

  • Nice tool and Good job, I was unsure what you where attempting to do from just the description and title of the video. But after seeing the use of the tool I now understand. It can be very handy on the number of big blocks I work on.

  • That black elcamino in the pic is a big block and was the first engine put together with this tool

  • ok i have watched the video and have come to a conclusion. PROPS TO YOU OLD MAN! you need to go market that thing instead of selling it on youtube. mechanics around the world would even be able to use that in their shops, as well as the obvious do it yourselfer such as myself! go patten that thing etc is my vote. asap.

  • i think this guy is a lost member of ZZ top hahaha he looks like a hardass props to him

  • yeah, I thought He'll grab a Les Paul and play Le Grange, very nice tool thou, I need one before I get my engine open, put it on eBay.

  • cool

  • dou you sell them? how much?

  • Nice beard, and along with such a beard comes with the wisdom and knowledge to make such a simple but functional tool.

  • wow, I bet the guys at these car companies are going to be sick they didn't think of it first, get a patent as fast you can, and sit back and rake in the dough, great 4 dimensional thinking!!!!

  • if i didnt know any better id say that was a valve spring compressor

  • GOOD NICE JOB

  • Cool idea.

  • Awesome tool. Go get that thing patented and have em sell it at Kragen. :)

  • I love it.

  • cool tool dude

  • Very good video, quite an interesting tool. o.o

  • what size engine is that my dad blew the motor on his 440 smowmobile and needs to know how easy it would be to repalce one of the pistons

  • do not listen this is a video of santa fixing hes slay. (i cant seem to see hes raindeers)

  • I don't get it.

  • it does have a rubber boot on the bottom

  • Im not a fan of the steel rod pushing on the aluminum piston, but the concept is cool.

Perhaps an aluminum peice with a rubber boot?

  • or a piece of duct tape lol

  • a simple peice of rubber would make it so much better lol.

  • they are for sale e-mail me ezpistontool at yahoo for details

  • very nice and simple tool i can made it by my self thank u

  • How cool is that!! More engine building tips please.

How much $ to buy one EZ Piston Tool?

  • wow...thats great!

  • This is a great invention...definitely one of those "I wish I woulda thought about that!" moments.

  • The Bob Ross of engine building, I could watch this guy for hours. How about with that tool you do a FULL instructional video on engine tear down and rebuild?!?!

  • is this tool available anywhere to buy i am going to be rebuilding an engine soon would definitely like to try this out

  • respect for you..

    regards

  • simple yet genious

  • i love it

    thought about selling it?

mechanics would drool at the prospect of fitting pistons + rings with that much ease

i dont even need new rings and i want it...

    ^^ 5 stars

  • THEY ARE FOR SALE WANT ONE?

  • REAL NICE TOOL YOU'VE GOT THEIR...

  • Damn Fine Idea Sir. I hope that you've patented this!
