they should be proud of their work, becuz they are students they are not professional dancers, plus I think in other dances of other people, always see similarities.. Agree that its kooler to make up the own dance but I think you guys did great job!!
As much as I'd like to encourage young people and compliment them on their interest in Vietnames culture, I can't stand poor quality of work. It misrepresents Vietnamese culture.
Borntotry, I think there's only one Vietnamese culture. I don't question the authencity or literary of the performace. It's the dedication and thoughtfulness that matters. I work in Japan for some time. I find much similarities between the Japanese and Vietnamese cultures if you dig into it. The Japanese tends to pay very close attention to the details on whatever they do, a man selling noodles, a performer on the street! If we'd only be mindful of what we do, the quality will show
It's true that dedication canbe reflected through outcome. However, I don't strongly consider this as some award-winning performance but an entertaining event. We were 30 Vietnamese students who just wanted to share a bit of Vietnamese culture and mainly enjoy ourselves in a relaxing night. We prepared food, decorated stall, made equipments & hold 4 musical performances that day (see other incomplete videos, one of them is original!) Is mass production any good? Not 4 Oscar but yes 2 some extent
Sorry for copying the guy who did it. At that time, our students had a little time to do everything (5 days as I said). It was nearly the only way to use others idea to perform again. Our performance based on the others idea had a great effect. Nonetheless, you are right. We should make our own, Hope that next time.

So I guess its just the difference of Vietnamese culture between your point of view and mine, between different generation, and positions!
