How wierd. I played that instance the other day and did not get any briefing afterwards. Must have been because I somehow could get into False Emperor before having done Battle for Ilum.
Considering there are powers: 1) enveloping oneself in a bubble to survive in outer space 2) protecting and slowing descent to a planet's surface, and that planet Ilum was nearby, I'd say there may be a real possibility Malgus survived getting sucked out into space (though probably beat to hell and exhausted) and is now stranded on Ilum. I can actually see future downloadable content happening.
@GTA2SWcity Definitely possible, but his death makes for a good conclusion to a lot of the empire's storylines. Considering that Malgus is involved in most of the flashpoints, it all wraps up nicely with the revelation of his true plans here in False Emperor. I get the feeling they wanted to have him as a nice, wrapped-up storyline for the initial release, after which we may move on to taking orders from the real emperor. That way there's a sense of progression to bigger things.
@RysanRelics You're completely correct in that aspect. WoW died with Cata and is turning in its grave at the mention of pandas. I personally still enjoyed 3.3 and all of Wrath, but all that came after was horrible. But I really can't denounce WoW too much. Had it not become unbearably terrible, I never would have switched focus to SWTOR. So, thank you WoW, for showing me out the door.
@RysanRelics It's extremely unlikely he is. I'm sure he will die eventually, but most definitely not this early in the game's story arc. He is pretty much the main villain and mascot for the game, so killing him right away would be a poor idea. Much like the Revan story arc and him dying to the Empire's hands. They're not going to close the book on him in a simple flashpoint fight.
What makes me laugh (to the literate point of near-enough coughing my lungs up) so hard about the critics who claim SWTOR is worse than WoW is that the game ISN'T even in its LAUNCH BUILD YET.

Just ONE MONTH of Vanilla WoW, when it was considered GOOD.
Sorry to upset you hard with the truth, but WoW is a has-been. Panda's now? Really Blizzard? The first ever (and only) original thing they did was a Viking game set on the SNES which was considered an absolute failure by consumer and critic reviews. It sucks, simple to put it. I don't get how ANYONE can disillusion themselves into thinking WoW is anything decent. It's not even close.
@Ymerish I healed this flashpoint that build with both of those types tanking.. The guardian was had better gear and know what he was doing, So it seemed easier. The Vanguard was taking a lot more damage on the clear through that the guardian did. But it is hard to say for sure because when i healed it with the vanguard we 3 manned the flashpoint so things were not dying quite as fast as with a full group .
@HighVoltage135 at least it looks more exciting than WoW. i mean WoW got boring for me after 2 weeks, and plus this is the jedi story. almost every person who's tested this said the republic stories and combat was boring compared to the sith.

"Malgus spent more time plotting his deceptions than he did studying The Force." 7:57 Of course, TOR may have better story tellers, so then, the players, are all meant to wonder at how a powerful Emperor could have died so easily. P1 grinning - "That was easier than I expected."
P2 worried - "I know, faaaaar too easy."
Then the other shoe doesn't drop until many eps later. Or even until the very end.
"I havn't enjoyed myself this much since the sacking of Coruscant!" - I seem to remember Malgus being enraged that the Emperor refused to bombard the planets surface and destroy the Republic... therefore he didn't really enjoy himself.

Still it would not be the only time BioWare screwed something Star Wars up with an abridgement for dialog sake. Case in point: "Prodigal" Knight. While the writers likely had in mind a certain historical figure who was later redeemed, prodigal doesn't mean redeemed. Makes ya wonder, doesn't it?

It cracks me up how the AI hesitates and stands there just breathing and not attacking, looks so bad, almost like the script needs to think for a second. I just can't get myself to like the game even with 15 Alpha/Beta invites the game just don't do it for me and im a huge starwars fan
Patch notes said that ellite mobs and boss mobs have many more skills and tools to throw at you now. And heroic mobs are much harder to kill according to the beta testers and all the complaints about it being too hard now at higher levels. But I don't know first hand.

I like it that you can play a healer / tank / dps in SW.

Starwars will be fun to play, it is much more fun to play battlegrounds in starwars and level up then lets say WoW, where you got 1 shotted by 6 rogues or 6 hunters each side has.
I quit WoW for for SW and i quit SW for GW2.

@MrBubbleKing Give it a try! The combat is not where this game shines. in most games, your character is merely a vessel through which damage or healing is dealt. In this game, many people find themselves very emotionally attached to their characters. Think Commander Shepard, The Warden, or Hawke.
@johnjiaojhu Downloading the Beta as I type this. I hope that its at least turns out to be fun to play. BioWare single player RPG were fantastic. Here hopes that SW:TOR can at least bring some of that excitement to its game.
@MrBubbleKing You will be in awe for the 1st few weeks. Then you will start noticing "things". That is with any game though really. I have been in beta for many many months and I still play way to many hours every day.
the difficulty of the game is one of my biggest issues with SWTOR. i was able to solo part of a Esseles Fashpoint just after reaching level 10 and i was just learning my new AC skills at the time and it really demoralized me. hopefully with the new build there will be increased difficulty or it will be really hard to justify pre-ordering for me.
@djuanOD congratulations, you solo'd part of the easiest flashpoint in the game.
As for this. Beta is beta. They're still fine tuning things. Why do you think you got a beta invite for? To help give feed back on what needs fine tuning.
@AzurePrower that was a very silly reply. first, you assume i did not give any feedback just because i have a negative impression of the game. second, the beta specifically outlined that the difficulty of mobs had been increased but for me i found it very easymode and if it wasn't for the gimmick mechanics of some of the bosses i could have done alot more solo. yes i was in a beta, but you forget that this game is releasing in less than a month.
@Hotshy420 Yup was just long and boring. Do not even really need a tank for him as his damage WAS minimal. Not sure if they have done anything with his mechanics, as I havent bothered with it for a few builds.

Patch notes said that ellite mobs and boss mobs have many more skills and tools to throw at you now. And heroic mobs are much harder to kill according to the beta testers and all the complaints about it being too hard now at higher levels. But I don't know first hand.

Its a few build ago... Beta.... obviously its easy. cuz if it was too hard you'd still be bitching ffs.... fuck you people are like fucking 5 year olds never satisfied. How about bitch if the fight doesn't satisfy you after release, or are u too stupid to do that too??

I like it that you can play a healer / tank / dps in SW.
I like GW2 for NOT having a healer / tank in their mmo.
Like Djuan already said, they still need to tune alot of stuff.
Starwars will be fun to play, it is much more fun to play battlegrounds in starwars and level up then lets say WoW, where you got 1 shotted by 6 rogues or 6 hunters each side has.
I quit WoW for for SW and i quit SW for GW2.
At the end of the day, play what you like, its that simple :)

@MrBubbleKing Give it a try! The combat is not where this game shines. in most games, your character is merely a vessel through which damage or healing is dealt. In this game, many people find themselves very emotionally attached to their characters. Think Commander Shepard, The Warden, or Hawke.

@johnjiaojhu Downloading the Beta as I type this. I hope that its at least turns out to be fun to play. BioWare single player RPG were fantastic. Here hopes that SW:TOR can at least bring some of that excitement to its game.

@MrBubbleKing You will be in awe for the 1st few weeks. Then you will start noticing "things". That is with any game though really. I have been in beta for many many months and I still play way to many hours every day.

the difficulty of the game is one of my biggest issues with SWTOR. i was able to solo part of a Esseles Fashpoint just after reaching level 10 and i was just learning my new AC skills at the time and it really demoralized me. hopefully with the new build there will be increased difficulty or it will be really hard to justify pre-ordering for me.

@djuanOD congratulations, you solo'd part of the easiest flashpoint in the game.
As for this. Beta is beta. They're still fine tuning things. Why do you think you got a beta invite for? To help give feed back on what needs fine tuning.

@AzurePrower that was a very silly reply. first, you assume i did not give any feedback just because i have a negative impression of the game. second, the beta specifically outlined that the difficulty of mobs had been increased but for me i found it very easymode and if it wasn't for the gimmick mechanics of some of the bosses i could have done alot more solo. yes i was in a beta, but you forget that this game is releasing in less than a month.

@Hotshy420 Yup was just long and boring. Do not even really need a tank for him as his damage WAS minimal. Not sure if they have done anything with his mechanics, as I havent bothered with it for a few builds.
