Not being mean or trying to hurt anyone's feelings, but to me FARRAH FAWCETT was the best girl to ever appear on this show. KATE JACKSON, JACLYN SMITH, and CHERYL LADD, are up on the latter, but not as far, the seasons four and five replacements (SHELLEY HACK -season four- and TANYA ROBERTS -season five-), are just "wannabee angels". They will never be able to hold a candle to the other four.

Loved Charlie's Angels. One of my favourite shows growing up in the 70's. Cheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith were by far the most attractive 'Angels', in my opinion. Cheryl had the most perfect little 'bikini' figure I've ever seen. She was only a small woman, but so perfectly proportioned and shaped. And well, Jaclyn was just so beautiful, with the best and bounciest 70's hair!
Excellent video! I'm not too crazy about the background music, but the video is A+. They really didn't give Shelley the chance that she so deserved. She was terrific, and they just didn't give her enough lines. We all loved Kate, and nobody wanted her to leave. I certainly love Kate, but you can see the way that Shelley dressed. She dressed Wow! Kate always wore Turtle necks. Kate was terrific, but Shelley was too, and she was so classy.
Gun15509, the reason why Cheryl Ladd was such a great success is because Cheryl had GREAT chemistry with Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, and David Doyle, and Kris Munroe was a great character. She fit right in. The show didn't miss a beat.
Season four had some great episodes, plus it featured the return of my favorite Angel Jill Munroe. Standouts for me are the Farrah return episodes along with Angel Hunt, Angels on Campus, Of Ghost and Angels and Angels on the Street.

So true. The only negative thing I can say is that I didn't care for Shelley's "flyaway" hair during the first 6 episodes. When she tamed her hair and it was slightly curled under like in Angels on the Street and Angels on Skates, she looked her best.

Hoping to bring back that Farrah magic, Tanya Roberts was hired to replace Shelly Hack. It did not help lift the ratings. Charlies Angels finished it's last season at #89 on the nielsen rating system. ABC canceled the the show. Foot note: Farrah Fawcett did not appear on the last season of Charlies Angels.

I hate that Shelly Hack was let go. She was wonderful and a fabulous actress. They should have given her more screen time in the beginning though like they didnt with Cheryl. I don't think I am gonna like Season Five! I don't agree with any bad things people have said about Shelly. Some of the episodes surround her were the best and the writing was really great this year!

Shelly added some class to the show, but Tanya, OMG i can still hear that overacting in that first episode "Don't die on me Harry don't die on me" just like fake fingernails on the chalkboard. No wonder Jaclyn Smith looked like she was pissed all the last season.

Personally, I think the show lost its chemistry when Shelly Hack join & when Roberts replaced Hack the show pretty much ran its course IMO. I mean it just wasn't there anymore. The reason why Cheryl Ladd was such a great success was because of all the buzz/controversy surrounding about Farrah Fawcett quiting after one season & a desperate search to fine her a replacement. But the best season for the show was season one with of course its original angles Kate, Jacklyn & Farrah (RIP).
I used to think the same, but re-watching it - I think Season 4 worked pretty well - the writing let it down for some episodes. Funny with all the fuss about Farrah leaving, the real gap was when Kate Jackson left. Sabrina Duncan left some big shoes to fill.

Bosley mentions Tiffany decided to go back East for a while, but that is all. They had to be pretty vague back then since apparently replacing Angels was a sensitive issue at times...
oh, honey. except for kate, none of the other angels were hired because of their acting chops. they got better on the job. i don't think shelley was any weaker than than farrah, jaclyn or cheryl when they started. as you said, shelley did get better. so, let's not propagate that myth that shelley was a weak actress. she was victimized by all that negative publicity. but it wasn't until the 2nd half of the season that we really saw enough of her. and we liked what we saw!
