u guys are stupid its hard to come across a song that doesnt sound like another song these days get over it. the verse sounds like an old australian childrens song most aussies will know it. i personally like this song for that fact alone although the album was abit of a let down oh wells say anything still rocks.

Jesus fucking christ, I'm only making a fucking passing comment about how similar it sounds; it's basically the same chord progression on the verses and follows a similar melodic structure so just accept the facts about it. yeah but if you also listen there is some my sharona in there too. i don't think the chord progression was an accident in this case. i think the choice of these two songs to mimic were with a purpose that kind of fits the song. hating everyone and fighting the law and my sharona comes in at a part when he's a teenager basically and my sharona is essentially about "chasing tail"

But why would they copy an existing song when they could write something original? I doubt they even realise it has the same chord progression it just isn't similar enough to be intentional.

well, it has a chord progression similar to more songs than just "i fought the law." really, just about any song can be compared to another. there are only so many desirable chord progressions out there to be used.

this song- is what we call a single that max felt he had to make to try and get a radio hit because they signed on a bigger label. i hate the buisness of music but their is some old say anyhthing in the end, the humanist talk is so max. i just love these guys no sell outs here or protypical conformists just max lyrical genius
