  • Do you remember what species of ray Bob is? Also do you know where the "retired" rays go after the touch tank? Thanks! Great video

  • @AggieLady02 He is a Southern Stingray (Dasyatis americana) The zoo has a large tank that it keeps the retired stingrays in away from exhibit. This was filmed many yrs ago and hopefully Bob has lived them out in peace. :)

  • @moominkomet Thank you so much. We are setting up a new ray tank and I am in love with the sweet ray currently in the touch tank (not sure if he is also a Southern?). We are looking at Cortez, not sure how they vary from Southerns. I didn't know if they ever sold them to private homes etc. after retirement, but glad they don't keep them there forever. Bob seems to be a sweetie too. Thanks again for your help and prompt response!

  • ...seems these guys get huge. If Bob's replacement is the same species, he'd grow way too large.

  • wow look at those eyes hes pretty cool :]

  • Bob could be a film star. Didn't he mug that camera like a supermodel! Thanks for sharing.
