Hi there, i do combatives (a rought martial art) and have trouble with my knee and right wrist especialy when pushing myself up off the ground, i have tryed resting it and i hate going to the doctors lol will this help at all?
@lantyboy696 It seems to help my knee a little bit. I also stopped kicking for a few months and focused on boxing and elbows. Now my knee feels pretty good. Streching helps too.
@jasonjweeks2 Hiya m8 (same name as me :P dont see many of us) been taking it for 2weeks and so far no difference might need more time taking it tho, finger crossed.
I play a lot of tennis and do tons of drills, which are extremely tough on the joints, wrists, elbows, knees, ankles and the back - I also used to do a lot of running and use the gym approx 3 hours a day and I am 46. I have been taking glucosamine for over 10 years as a preventative measure and I have never suffered joint pains. I always knew that I had to maintain a rigorous active lifestyle because I put on weight easy especially in middle age - so I took precautions and it works ...

The clinical effectiveness of glucosamine and chondroitin supplements in slowing or arresting progression of osteoarthritis of the knee: a systematic review and economic evaluation.
There are a number of recent studies that show the positive effects of glucosamine for treatment of osteoarthritis. For example:
Arthritis.
Efficacy of a progressive walking program and glucosamine sulphate supplementation on osteoarthritic symptoms of the hip and knee: a feasibility trial.
unfortunately, glucosamine taken orally is not able to enter the articulation and thus has no effect at all on osteoarthritis... chondroitin sulfate is digested in the stomach, so it is not even able to enter the blood circulation. lots of cochrane meta-analyses show no difference between glucosamine or chondroitin sulfate and placebo in (osteo)arthritis patients.
