  • Is the Sifu the one on the black outfit?

    If so, WHAT THE HELL?!

What a horrible forum he has..

  • Wing Chun Kung Fu is exactly what the name stands for. An art of basically doing things continuously until you get better and better. And perfecting movements. There is a lot more to wing chun than just fighting. Wing Chun to me is not a sport. It can protect me and defend me and the Shao Lin salute is peace overcomes power. It is an effective system if you are tought correctly. Oh and use your aponents evergy or force against him or her. Yin and Yang...

  • may i ask, if you had to classify it... what is the focus of wing chun, i mean in he sense of: life protection, self defense, peace preservation, sport or spiritual ect.

  • I think the focus of Wing Chun, or all martial arts, is to fight. The focus of all martial artists should be life protection, self defense, & peace preservation.

  • Being an aiki guy and a te guy i aswell believe the puropse of budo to be peace and life preservation aswell as a path twards understanding

  • @paulzikang

Meaby it should be what the individual needs the most :)

  • Sifu Lee, I think that your videos and explanations are great. I have one question for you. Does your school practice Chi Gerk? The reason that I ask this is because there are Wing Chun families that do not believe in Chi Gerk. What is your opinion about this dynamic leg exercise?

    Thank you.

  • I like the kicks to the low line: round/oblique/ stomp kicks to ankle/knee/thigh/shin. Low line destructions open up attacks to opp. high line; also, older martial artists who have difficulty kicking high can STILL use these kicks! LOL

  • Very good.

  • Sifu Lee, your videos are among the best on DVD, VHS or the internet. I've not seen anyone publish these kinds of moves except for Sifu Duncan Leung. It is obvious you two are the same family. I hope you have time to do a DVD series one day. Thanks again

  • I agree, these Wing Chun family really the best.

  • Sifu Duncan Leung was one of alan lee's sifu's. you can see Sifu Duncan's emblem on the shirts.

  • You're correct about the relationship, however your proof is incorrect. SiFu Lee uses the crossed WC Knives (blades up), with a plum blossom centered between the handles. SiFu Duncan uses a buffeting crane and a coiled snake.

  • thank you for the correction, i've never had the opportunity to examine the emblems more closely. of course though, many chinese styles have designed their emblems with a similar fashion, so they all start to look quite similar anyway, lol. but thank u again for clearing that up! :)

  • is chi gerk still practissed in wing chun. To become the most efficient fighter in the world, che gerk is important along with chi sau

  • Did Yip Man teach Chi Gerk in his schools? If not, where does it come from? Not saying that new elements can't/shouldn't be introduced into a style over time, but such elements have to be scrutinized heavily before they can be accepted as effective. Personally, I'm not sold on it.

  • Great show of useful kicks , not to sure about the students spining round house kick but Sifu Lee is certainly a skilled Sifu!

  • Tinit, whenever i've seen or trained with any of sifu duncan's students, it's noticed that your not watching a roundhouse kick- for the sake of throwing a roundhouse kick. in a lot of chinese kung fu, you will see what's called "sou geurk"(sweeping kick). more like an explosive way to take out one's leg- sweeping through. to contrast, you'll notice that there's not a snap in the kick, but a quick and powerful sweep.

  • I dig it!

  • some good examples of training with Kicks. Looks like fun!
