He, hey, now! The Shadow Orb might not be the best ever, but the Light Orb is useful since it breaks through someone's guard.

This is especially helpful in Chaos Mode, since that's when peons and officers alike guard forever before they attempt to kill you in three or four attacks.

Also, the enemies are stunned for a second or two, so if your character has a bit of lag time after a charge attack (like Zhou Tai's C3), you can use that to recover and keep attacking.

good questions.

1)This is generally accepted to be the case. However, the probable trend would be that having a long musou is good for Chaos Mode, or more specifically, having a musou that is long enough to kill an officer in musou. For example Zhang Liao, doesnt have a musou bonus on his 4th weapon, but its good enough to kill officers in just one string of attacks.

Taishi Ci is even better...give him a light weapon with attack, but without musou, his musou will pretty much kill an officer from full health. But there are examples for the other extreme. Characters who are good with musou filling, and can use the extra musou length will want to have a very long musou. Examples: Lu Bu (C3), Zuo Ci (C4), Zhang He (Jump Charge)

the True Way of Musou is probably one of the most important in Chaos. The only character I dont equip it on is Huang Zhong, but only when 4th weapons are considered. Otherwise, it is in all of my configurations. Oh wait...it's not important for Zhuge Liang, or Gan Ning. These two are exceptions. This item makes Chaos way too easy now. Chaos in DW5 is much more fun, and challenging.

honestly i dont remember when i got it. But i got it probably like half a year after it was released. I tend not to buy games in the middle of a semester, or else i'll end up playing instead of studying. After that, it could be approximated to 1 hour a day. soo....500+ hours? i dunno...probably a good approx.

and about ur opinion on weapon weight, we r very different players of machao, u play machao on ground, while i play him on horse. of course i mean for lingtong i would need a heavy weapon, but when i'm on a horse, i have no worry about strengh and stuff for i prefer speed.

and for musou rage of course, i rarely use them while playing as machao, as long as he has a horse he is invincible under my control

i would have the same opinion for other chars, but for machao i believe my method is the best. for i used him with only shadow and the horn thing equiped and beat chaos empire mode, dunno if u've ever played empires, but believe me it's realli realli difficult.

it looks realli bad, that's wut i've asked u before to consider the audience, i like games to be played like a piece of art, moving with L1 looks disgusting and it ruins then fun, plus, it's easier that way or else u have to move the head of the horse from front to back to avoid being hit, it does require more skill not holding L1 but it gives very neat graphic feeling

When "Not holding L1" any character especially Ma Chao can do better than "Holding L1". And here's the difference:

I think L1 was made for beginners.

Once you master the speed of the horse, & the attacking speed of the specific characer, there should be no reason to use the L1.

This is why I dont include Horse Combat in my guide, or tier list considerations, because a majority of the chars can get through an entire lv without getting hit, once horse combat is mastered. (It would just take longer) anyway, it would ruin the tier list; characters like Xiao Qiao would be at a lower rank cuz her horse combat sux

i'm being random, wut time is it at ur place? minez like 8:20 in the morning lol, i'm an early cat. anyways, back on topic, i think that machao can beat the lvl faster on a horse than on the ground, if hez on the ground he will be mainly using c6 and musou, beating a lvl with lots of officers is easy when u dont have to worry about the peons or waste time trying to defend their attacks. herez a good trick with my light weapon

u hit the officer on one side, tho he loses lots of health(not as much as on the ground but if an officer is hit by a heavy weapon he will flinch and if u hit again he'll fall or go into the ari) due to ur atk/horse bonus and stuff, he will only flinch for a very short period of time, then u move the horse to the other side (the back) of him,

well first, the light weight of ur weapon is a LOT weaker than if it were medium. Probably not much a big deal on hard mode, but I would definitely go with Medium for Chaos. The increase in attack speed from the light is not even worth it for sacrificing attack strength.

And the stats on his 4th weapon are really good, even though they arent maxed out, they are close. And even if you get a medium 3rd and max it out with better stats i still think his 4th would be better because of the musou rages.

when hez on a horse, hez just invincible. herez wut i usually have (minez not english version):

red hare, ice orb, tiger (+ attack), that horn thing (+ attack on horse), the thing where it increases ur fill, green scroll, wind scroll, true way of musou

or:

shadow, any orb, tiger, the thing that increases ur ride's atk, horn, + fill, 2*horse speed (is this one new?), green scroll...

Ma Chao sure is a killin' machine when he is in his mosou rage. But, true, you DO mess up a bit at Cao Ren's part.
