This is a good video to remind people that these so called 1000hp cars are not nice to drive, break down constantly, including catastrophic failure. They probably also reek of fuel.

I mean I'm all for high powered cars, but a lot of people watch these 1000hp vids and think one day their street skyline will reliably make the same power.

Almost all of these cars needed attention when they returned to the start.

Stick with say a 600hp engine, 1000hp just isn't cool.

And that Superior gear ratios and improved areodynamics are key to increasing gtr's top speed not raw power.

the times are made even more impressive by the fact that the skyline shape is far less areodynamic then say an rx7, 300zx, supra or corvette, so the gtr has to push more through more resistance using just brute force, it be nice to see how the full tuned gtrs of today ( many now running 8s on street rubber) agasint the vipers, super supras and the twinturbo gt40 in the one mile run comps in america im sure the gtrs could possibly even best those monsters

Thats quite a few engine/hardware failures that they were experiencing. I couldnt imagine what the final repair expenses mustve been for all the carnage.
