What would you say to someone that did nothing but green smoothies and fruit for 60 days? Would it help them lose weight? Would they be able to tone up with resistance training and 30 minutes of cardio everyday with green smoothies? Everything equaling 2000 calories.

@vishiqualle what I get is that many people dont chew their food enough to break it down before getting digested by the stomach.the more chopped up it is, the less youy body/stomach has to work to get nutrients out of the food.

@Phanentina Hi, can you please post/send any links regarding what you've written? I'd be interested to check it out. I found a New Scientist article that basically says raw broccoli has some anti cancer properties (can find with google search...couldn't post here for some reason)

@mark40511 I wouldn't advise cleaning your greens so much because there is beneficial bacteria on unwashed produced. Apparently this is also a good source of B12
hello : ) I am very interested in the idea of raw smoothies. At present i steam veggies that are difficult to eat raw, such as parsnips, potatoes brocleie , Swede, and turnip. Is it healthy to blend smoothies from these types of veggie that i love so much? i was taught that these veg types need to absorb lots of water, otherwise they sit in your tummy and absorb stomach acid which can cause tummy ache. Maybe after a blend, the mix could soak in water or fruit juice before drinking? : )
I was trying to avoid mixing fruits and vegetables (because veggies and fruits should not be combined since the 2 food groups can counter act against each other during digestion). Are the baby spinach leaves considered not to be vegetables?

Green smoothies are great. I use an ultrasonic vegetable washer to make sure they are clean clean before consuming so many greens.

I created a great green smoothie i have been having every morning.
1 cup or so of juice from orange or 1 orange
1/2 cup kale
1 banana (frozen works too!)
1 tablespoon raw artisana coconut oil (optional)
I also put in two teaspoons of nulife gandolf SPIRULINA powder (optional)
so nutritious and delicious!

My husband and I love spinach in our smoothies. We add other greens too, but spinach is usually our 1st choice.
We like our smoothies thick too. We used crushed ice instead of water. :)
