Mi amigos de Venezuela, Diaz lost because the 2 katas are not comparable: the opponents performed katas of 2 different styles and when you reached the skill of a world championship it's hard to catch the best of every performance related to the standards of every style.
The referees simply considered the power, the stances and the kicks in Valdesi's kata.
the referees have way more than that to consider. theres a list of 10 critera they run through before they decide. The head judge in this is sensei miladi, he went with diaz because of one thing: his foot was consistently on the floor which is a style trait of both shito ryu and shoto kan. Valdesi's foot came up, giving him one less of the critera needed. Diaz had more of the 10 critera met than Valdesi. Theres wayyyy more considered than anyone who doesnt study refereeing will EVER know.
No meu ponto de vista, merece a vitória o Antonio Diaz, não desmerecendo o atleta Luca Valdesi, um dos melhores da Europa,mas tecnicamente falando observem que dos dois atletas o Diaz obedece criteriosamente a linha de EMBUSEN, ao contrário do valdesi. Há quem diga que hoje em dia este detalhe não é mais relevante, no meu dia a dia do karate sigo obedecendo criteriosamente esta pratica de obedecer a linha de embusen em todos os kata (esta é minha humilde opinião)oss !

no felicito a Antonio por la medalla de plta pues la de oro debio ser sulla, el desequilibrio de valdesi simplemente devio haberle costado el titulo.
el mejor kata de la final del mundial fue el de antonio.
no pares hasta hacer mas evidente tu superioridad Antonio. todo america te apoya ^^.
