@as87ir. Singapore means singapuar/Tarsier, not a fishtailed lionlike creature. U originated from a muddy marsh-land named TUMASIK by ancient Javanese. The leader has ancestor Javan-born imigrant from a town called Kudus. The energy to lite up the land came from Gas that has been supplied and transport from a PLACE U CALL RAT’S HOLE through undersea piping. I bet U don't know that. At least, I GOT MY OWN LAND I SHALLFIGHT AND DIE FOR WITH PROUD. That is the truth we should believe in.

Truly an admirable example from one of our Asian neighbors! Here in our beloved Philippines, slowly but surely, people starting from the young educated class are beginning to open their eyes towards a new mindset of change and how to achieve it. The recently concluded elections woke up the minds of a number of patriotic Filipinos. Change starts mainly with ourselves, by being productive, proud and disciplined. There are a lot of poor historic ommissions and assertions. Too much is credited to Raffles and LKY. 1st there is no mention of the thriving trading post Singapore was starting from the 2nd centry - 17 century. The opening assetion in the video was that Singapore wasan unhinhabited island 200 years ago is nonsense. LKY was extremely important but so was his team and predacessors.

Aren't we glad we got 'booted' out by Malaya? If not, I think we still leaving in kampungs and using well water. MM Lee KY is the Father Of S'pore. I don't care what other ppl say about him & his govt. Without his vision, we won't be where we are now. No govt is 100% perfect but after 44 yrs of prosperity, need we always question their every move? A well travelled person will know what is good governance.
