dude i didn't buy the solos for the same reason.. soo i when ahead with the Dr. Dre Beats studios because i like the bass an of course the vocal wont go off.. it still have that nice quality.. an its firm... but the aviators hmm i bought these there cool not bad.. but i dont like them soo i decided to give them to my brother.. but studios and pro beats are the best headphones soo far.. i heard recently some guy in had some aviators an he said the one of the speakers pop!.. im like wack..! @Joshuadchuggins I don't know of any headphone repair places but I sent my headphones to monster and got them back in a fair amount of time. Monster has awesome customer service. Just call them and they will hook you up with a new pair. BTW: I could tell just from playing the music out loud that the Aviators had much clearer sound without that booming bass in the background drowning out everything else. Nice Video!

@1527384625 i think beats by dre are overrated not saying they aren't good but they aren't typically the best. Just the name that pulls them through. My bro's solo HD kinda broke he got em fixed though but they're not so reliable. Also my tours wire kinda tore and you can see the insides near the black separator thing on the wires.

and i once saw snapped solo HD's at best buy.

Listened to both @ the Apple Store. I bought the Skullcandy Aviators because, like you said, the Aviators have superior clarity. The Beat Solos do have better bass, but it can be overpowering. One other thing to consider is that the Beat solos are made of a cheap plastic and will "snap like a twig" over time. This was confirmed in online reviews and the Apple store employee said that many in the store snapped. Whereas the Aviators are made of steel and have a lifetime warranty! I love them!

@Tu51ndBl4d3 i think you should get the aviators because 1) they're very reliable 2) have life time warranty unlike beats which are building a bad reputation of being flimsy. 3) the aviators look really nice in real life they have a nice finish to the sides the carry bags amazing :) and it made of poly-carbonate materials (looks like aviator sun-glasses) really cool

so i think pass up the beats its just brand name sometimes.

Awesome review! I was sold at first test at the Apple Store! I hated Beats by Dre the very first time I got them ... If it wasn't for "monster" name branding and Dr. Dre label sponsorship- no one would even look at these ! Most shallow people just want to wear it for style than what it is really made for! I also think beats are poorly made with cheap quality materials

One thing is though that I wish aviators had detachable cords like beats cuz my cables rip or wear out eventually when I have them in my pocket most often... I have skullcandy in ears rite now and the cord keeps breaking down on me... I see aviators have great sound but im wondering is the cord sturdy or reliable? and hows the tours workin for you are they that much better than other in-ears and are they worth the pay? cuz m considering the beats in-ears too they look great as well.

If there was a way I could remove the aviator cord and replace it with the monster i would. If there is a creative person out there that can do this please let me know

Hey dude awesome review. I actually went to the apple store and compared both these headphones. I was really surprised with the Aviator's. The beats by dr.dre get a little distorted when you turn it up a little, an they leak (which means that others can hear your music) the skullcandy's feel soft and comfy, plus they cover your whole ear which is nice. Get the Aviator's!

I think that Skullcandy has really improved on the quality of sound beciause I bought the newer line of TiTAN and 50/50 and when you turn them up to the highest level they don't sound distorted like previous versions.

I bought the HD solo, and it sounded AWFUL !!!!! I hated it ! my $50 skullcandy earbuds sound MUCH better ! yeah it was OK for dance music, but Rock or Pop sounds very bad in Solo. Now I'm really in to the Aviator. Do you think it is worth it ? Is it good for rock ?

It's really rather hard to hear the actual clarity and value of the audio quality of each respective headphone just over the microphone on the camera. I think if you choose to do a future review, focus on the tone quality, highs, mids, lows, overall accurate reproduction and build quality of each. Still a pretty solid review man, thanks for reviewing them.
