weirdgymasticus you should look it up on wikipedia because from knowing several switz people myself, they actually speak German Switz in a part of the country, French another one, in a small part of it they speak Italian, and Romanche in one canton !! Go to Geneva, you'll hear French in the streets, go to Bern you'll hear German !
I got the chance to play one of these things last year. They are great. Very much the steel drum sound.

They're Hang Drums. Very nicely played too! ( Pronounced closer to Hung or Hong ) They run up to 2k, but i want one :)

hang drum is correct. it is pronounced "hung" drum, which is swiss for "hand" drum.
