@ssj02 This is a bit of a brain twister but here is how it works, The GTO here in the US, is a LS9 all most part for part. But the Lumina in this video (the one sold in the middle easy area) Is only based on the LS9.
In short, the GTO got all its parts from the LS9 the good ones.. and that bad ones (Car drives like a rock)
The lumina on the other hand, took the best parts from the LS9 and pared it with a light more easy to handle set up In short, yes this lumina ss could eat up a gto.
@AutumnPolitics why do you have to sign in and say shit?! and who told u that am a "towel head" in the first place.....FYI am not a towel head but this doesn't mean you or I have the right to make fun of other cultures and act like an ignorant stereotypical person.
@akatubyfreak123 Hi dude. actually the L76 started with the 2007 model, the new shape which is the 6.0L, similar to an LS2 but with different heads. Mine is an LS1 5.7L. I don't know if in Australia they introduced the L76 on 2006 models but the Chevy badged Holdens (Lumina SS) exported to the middle east come with LS1 until 2006.
@xtreme01hac10docter u do have them there as the G8 and GTO. The engine applications are LS1, LS2, L98. They do apply the LS9 as well in Australia, we don't get it here and am not sure if it comes of higher performance pontiacs.

It's so interesting to see this car badged as so many labels as a GM product. Pontiac GTO, Holden/Vauxhall Monaro, Chevy Lumina SS. It really is an international car!!!
yes god bless V8 engines especially chevy engines i got a VZ SV8 its rips easily when the temperature is lover than 25 degrees any higher feels slugish. Does any 1 have the same problem?
Well,, in Australia, somewhere in Europe or Northern America i agree with u. But over here!!! nobody will catch me unless they see me do it infront of them,, i.e. live actions!!! and even in such cases, sometimes they just let me go. U can enjoy ur engine over here!
nice freakin car man. wish they had these in the usa. god bless the GM LS1 v8. i gotta LT1 (the older version of the LS1 w/ cast iron heads) in my nissan 240z. i went with the LT1 because its stronger and was cheaper.
@romansoldierofhonor The LS1 and LT1 aren't related... not to be a dick, just wanted to set the record straight :) Nice engine for a 240, that car deserves more than four cylinders haha
When you say "stronger" here you just mean more durable right? with the iron construction vs. weaker (but lighter) aluminum
@grenade350 yeah your not bein a dick.. i didnt know that... but they can be considered related since they are both made by GM. and both start with "L".
What do mean vlbhb? are you talking about the lumina which was sold in the US before? the 6 cylinder front wheel drive sedan?? if that is what u meant then i totally agree!! that was a real peice of shit.
Drive a new FG ORION GT Falcon and you'll gorget about a 6.2L Ls3 crap, they cant even beat a stock 220kW Barra220 for down low end torque ahahaaha!!!
a stock BA Falcon XR8 Boss260 eats these cars for breakfast, and speaking of its sister 220kW Barra220 5.4L SOHC, it eats every single GENIII up to a 285kW tuned variant.
Actually it is one of GM's marketing strategies for a reason i don't know. For example since 1996 we no more get any buicks here!!! if we want it we just ship it from the US. Some Chryslers are not here as well, no Saturn cars and no pontiacs although we used to get those before. But we also get many cars that u don't have in the US and Canada. No problem dude, i will send u cars from here and u send me cars from there, what do u say about that???!
how come they dont have the 4 exhausts? and what motor dealer did you buy your car from as i am moving to Bahrain and want to buy one...also how much a month do they cost to lease?
This is 2006 model. It is the same chasis from 2003 through 2006 with minor changes in tail light and front side air opening design that only show on the 2006 model. The 4 exhausts are on the 2007 and 2008 models with totally different chasis and engine even. But keep in mind that this is a chevy lumina SS special for the middle east and not the holden commodore of australia and south africa. This has a 5.7 liters V8 with 328 bhp stock. My car has around 345 bhp as it has full headers.
sorry to correct u dude but that car doesnt matter where it comes from was designed in Australia..the chasis the shell every little detail of the car is australian its chev nothing all australian
Yeah its much easier to sell an established brand and model name than something nobody has heard of. Its funny, lots of guys in Australia change their holden badges to Chev (to be different and the fact the engine is made by GM, aka Chev Power) I wonder if anyone in the middle east has changed their chev badges to holden? :D haha... Maybe some of the aussie expats...
Haha, you got it right on that, actually many guys here have Holden badges, logos and stickers all over the side and hood of the car and they are locals and not Australian expats!!! Holden gives the impression of racing or modified cars and that is the main reason the guys here tend to have holden logo and marks on there cars.
