  • question, my iphone 4s had a rattling nosie so i decided to send it in for serivce, they said it would take 2 weeks but 5 days later they gave me a "new" one. Same problem and when i turned it on with my current apple id I noticed that i had iclowd downloaded and some of my contatst were still there but only their email. I had my iphone for 29 days, btw I only got the iphone not the whole box. Did they gave me my old iphone and claimed it was new??

    Thanks.

  • Is this replacement iPhone new? Is it working fine?

  • @jhonsebastiantv its the same as getting a brand new iphone, maybe even better :)

  • Hey i was wondering what program you used to convert the iphone 4 video file so that it could upload to youtube

  • im getting mine on monday/tuesday

  • @jhonsebastiantv check your serial number if its 5k that means its refurbished and if its a 8 that means it new i got a 5k and my camera has a huge gigantic blue and green circle in the middle check if the home button is wiggly and volume amd more stuff like that

  • @5sikh what do you mean 5K? the beginning of it??

  • @jhonsebastiantv yea mines is 5k0454

  • why if you just bought an iphone w/o warranty and after 2 months you discovered a damaged on it., is apple will give you a new one?

  • @Sherwinfrias25 iPhone got 1 year warranty and yes apple will replace it

  • is this new or used the replacement?

  • Omg! I though you were recording this using camcorder or something!

  • Hi

whats the difference between the standard and advanced methods?

  • @XC0MB4TXEV0LV3D I believe that the Advanced Replacement is where they send you a replacement phone, then you send your old phone back. Regular is when you send your phone in first. Advanced Replacement is free with AppleCare and costs money with regular.

  • @nicroth1 Please reply..!!,

How can you get an advance replacement? are they going to ask you like "Do you want advance or old replacement etc??" Anyway im still under warranty, i only have my iphone 4 for almost 4 months now and having problem with it.

Please reply ASAP!.. Please please please.......

  • @jhonsebastiantv

You have to have AppleCare to get a free Advanced Replacement phone. Otherwise, it costs you money (about $30, I think). To get them to send you one, you have to describe your problems to them. After that, they'll have you do some routine stuff, sometimes going as far as restoring the device. Then, they'll usually ask if you can take it into and Apple Store to have it examined. If you're far away from an Apple Store or prefer to do the replacement by mail, ask about it then.

  • @nicroth1 Is under warranty not AppleCare? Please reply

  • @jhonsebastiantv There is a difference. If you haven't purchased AppleCare, then it costs. Otherwise, it is included with the AppleCare. If you don't want to pay and don't have AppleCare, then you can only do the standard replacement method.

  • @nicroth1 is the replacement refuurb or brand new? And what if it broke again, am i going to be able to get another replacement?

    Please reply..

  • @jhonsebastiantv They will probably be a refurb, but that isn't to worry. Refurbs have good quality. The warranty/AppleCare transfers to the new device.

  • @nicroth1 Very very last question?? Just to make sure.. If i have applcare thingy then i can have a new phone? RIght? but if i have warranty i will have a refurbished?

    Please reply

  • @jhonsebastiantv That has nothing to do with it. It is just random whether or not you get a refurb or new. Most likely now they will be refurbished models.

  • @nicroth1 Ok then, Thanks for all your replies, Very appreciate it! :D The only problem i have now is how to not give up on hundreds of question that the apple staff going to ask >_< Last time i call them, they won't stop asking questions so I ended the call!!

Again thnks for all your help!!

  • @nicroth1 Sorry Sorry Sorry! I have one more question left!! Is my warranty going to be remove if i already have a replacement??

    Please reply!!

  • hey can u help me out. my phone keeps getting no service. i have att and it goes from 3 bars then drops down to no service. its does that until i restart the phone. and then it happens all over again. i have the bumper on but that doesnt help.

  • @appleunlocks I suggest calling AppleCare at 1-800-MY-IPHONE or taking it into a Genius Bar.

  • @appleunlocks Hey im having the same issue aswell, i have email someone on apple and im going to call her/him later

  • I'm curious is the home & sleep/wake button very fragile or soft compared to the original iphone 4 you replaced: hard and rigid. Thanks in advance, great post.

  • @flatop1691 From what I can tell, it is just about the same. It is springy and responsive just like the old one was. My old one was a week 24 production unit, and this new one is a week 26. Also, I have noticed that both of them have somewhat loose silence switches. I'm not sure why, but they both seem to be loose. When you shake the phone, or even sometimes when it vibrates sitting on a table or something, I can hear a buzzing coming from the switch.

  • is that a new of refurbished phone

  • @tt2ize The replacement phone is a brand new one. Typically AppleCare Advanced Replacement phones are refurbished units, but I'm assuming it is too early in the timeline for Apple to have any refurbished units. I can tell it is brand new because of the serial number. It does not have any indication that it is a refurbished phone. It is the same style as any new phone. Old refurbished phones started their serial numbers with 5K.

  • @nicroth1 my replacement phone had a 5k in the begining, it sucks cuz i just bought my iphone 2 weeks ago and now they are replacing my brand new iphone with a refurbished one.

  • @redballyou It's actually not that big of a deal. Refurbished phones are as good as or better than new. There is basically no difference.

  • Why did you replace your iPhone?

Did they put a hold on your credit card? If so, how much?

  • @utgfilms It was replaced for proximity sensor issues. I thought it would just be software issues, but the AppleCare representatives thought what mine was doing was a hardware problem. They put a $599 hold on the card for the 16GB, and I believe a $699 hold for the 32GB.
