  • The best of the best this is what Hogan and Jesse the Body copied on thier way to fame and fortune!

  • thats the russian bear ivan koloff with the superstar.

  • this guy is CLASSIC funny. i don't even hear today's comedians being this funny. this guy is truly the master of the wrestling promo. no-one could do it better than superstar billy.

  • "I' got millions of letters saying Superstar..would you please lay some yellow on me Daddy". That's some of the funniest stuff I've ever heard. I laugh every time I watch this. It never gets old. Superstar, you were truly a legend on the mic when it comes to promos.

  • Superstar Billy Graham, the white Muhammad Ali. Enough said.

  • @TheLuscious More like Muhammad Ali, the black Superstar Billy Grahm

  • @8D8A8N You know how you sound right basically calling Ali a copycat when he's clearly a trailblazer. And Ali copied his style from Gorgeous George. Don't say what you just wrote me out loud too much.

  • How many people since his prime put the Supastarrr over? Ventura and Hogan are the two biggest names that come to mind....very few then and since cut a promo like him. The SBG of the 80's was a diluted version of the real thing, strung out on roids and other drugs. The man overcome it all and remains alive today.

  • Noooooooooooooooo. He didn't rip off Muhammad Ali. The Superstar just put Ali over smooth as glass.

  • who was the other large guy in the ring with him?

  • Comment removed

  • You mean holding the microphone? That's Wally Karbo.

    ;)

Seriously, it's either manager The Big K or Ivan Koloff himself. The outfit doesn't exactly go along with what Ivan usually wore, I admit. :)

  • No, that's Marty O'Neill, who was the main interviewer for the AWA in the 1970s

  • Please lay some yellow on me daddy!

  • He set the standard for giving a promo.

  • "That is a $300 butterfly."

  • Hulk Hogan totally ripped this dude off...

  • Well Superstar ripped Mohammed Ali off. "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee"

  • and Ali ripped off everything he had from Gorgeous George. So, isn't it funny how things come full circle.

  • I'd say he borrowed. I don't think Gorgeous George ever said, "I'm knockin' out all bums!" or "C'mon you gorilla, we in Manila!"

  • You missed the point. I guess you have trouble paying attention. Good luck in special ed, junior.

  • You just don't know do you the history b/t wrestlers and boxers? How they've always idolized each other and hung out with each other? Ali was a huge fan of wrestling as a boy. Ali freely admits creating his persona based on the great Gorgeous George. Superstar was just putting Ali over smooth as glass. Come on give it up. The rhyme was divine. Bet you him and Ali was on the phone back then trading him back and forth. Now I see why the Superstar is still so influential 30 years later.

  • @Memnon2 he sure as hell did.

  • @Memnon2 So did Jesse Ventura and Scott Steiner.

  • I would rather listen to Graham than to any of the idiots that try and sound cool today.

  • @deuceoo I totally agree!

  • Read his autobiography. He only spent a few bucks for it but worked it like it was worth $300.

  • Ha ha ha thats right. He got it from some costume jewelry shop.

  • The Superstar was the man and yeah $300 for a gold butterfly was extremly expensive back in the day!

  • yip. $300 back then was a goddamned fortune to be paying for jewlerry. most things for that matter.

  • 300 bucks in 1976 is a lot of money sister

  • $300 for the Butterfly? Come on Billy, step it up some

  • The one and only Billy Graham. I great wrestler.
