Not really, I use pretty much no open string fingerings and it is very simple and easy to get under the fingers. I played the piece to Pavel Steidl today and he also thought the fingerings were fine.

On a side note: she could do a lot more with the G# minor pentatonic scale, it screams climax to me (excuse the word choice lol).

There are also other things I don't like about this performance. However as it's the only Villa-lobos etude 8 I've seen from her I don't know if this was just a bad performance but there were many, many things that she could have done a lot better (musically speaking) in my opinion.

@RandomMocker who r u?? where u from?? u must be pretty into this stuff... this is the easiest etude of the 12 as u probably know...very french...cafe music... so i think she probably sees no reason to sho off... check out her middle section of etude 11 (the full-roll part in 8vas),,,great...and her no1 is great (not pepe ramero but still good)

This is good, but I prefer Julian Bream's interpretation. He really captured the essence of it much better than Vidovic.

Haha..I didn't realize how ridiculous it was to compare the two at the time. It is a good interpretation of the piece, and Ana Vidovic is a great player. I meant no disrespect to Ana's playing.
