My older sister and I we at this game, I had the tickets as part of the Dodger Pepsi Fan Club deal, a Dodger t-shirt and general admission tickets to 5 games. All for 6 Pepsi bottle cap liners and a dollar. I even remember getting this record inside one of the programs at the stadium either later that season, or the next. Great memories. And without a doubt, Scully was (and still is) the greatest.
I'm not a Dodgers Fan, but It's seems like Vin Scully broadcasts a lot of historic baseball games such as: Don Larsen's Perfect Game in the 1956 World Series, This No-Hitter by Bill Singer & the Mets exciting comeback in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series. Scully seems like a lucky guy.
Thanks for posting. I hadn't heard this call in more than 30 years. Singer -- whose wife was a distant relation of my father -- mailed me a copy of the record that fall, back when I was a 9-year-old kid. I lost it somewhere along the way. Great to hear it again.

as I remember it, Bill singer was coming back from a pretty bad injury when he got this no-hitter so it was even more impressive. Bill Russell in left field is pretty strange
This was the finale of an oddly structured three-game series, which began with a Sunday doubleheader.

One minute past six? What time did the game start? That is odd if the game started at 230 or 300

@JENDALL714 At around 2:05 Scully mentions that the game had a four o'clock start, acknowledging that "there aren't many of those at Dodger Stadium".
Singer was a pretty fast worker that day, wrapping the game up in two hours two minutes.

Incidentally, Singer's catcher, Jeff Torborg not only caught Sandy Koufax's perfect game in 1965, but also Nolan Ryan's first no-hitter in 1973.

Scully is incredible. I don't often get to hear him because I live in NYC. Thanks for sharing this.
