@Hoschi0913 on a hike in a grunt unit you are looking at carrying around 80lbs excluding ur weapons m16a4s are about 9-10lbs so rounds up to 90lbs thats what we use to carry in ITB and we do in my unit on hikes they are about 10-15 miles. in combat ull carry like 40lbs most likely sapi plates are heavy lol

I just turned 18, i wan't to join the u.s marines aswell. Not necessarily, however, because of some sense of patriotism to my state but, instead i yearn for experience. Im shrouded by the veil of ignorance, there are some things i need to know, some things i need to see. I think that the marines will help me to better understand the world in which i was thrusted into, to help uncover my veil. I would really like some input on this (preferably from someone wise).
